I've seen the Pineapple mentioned by several of you but never really answered; WHAT'S UP WITH THE FREAKIN' PINEAPPLES? blink.gif

I know it's a show "joke" but I'm curious how it came about and the exact meaning behind it? huh.gif

Anybody? mellow.gif

Anybody??? huh.gif

Please somebody before my head explodes. tongue.gif

James ROday and Dulé Hill found a pineapple in the props room and thought it would be fun to incorporate into the show so they did! AAnd that's it, funny eh?
PsychJujuPineapple
Yup, in the first ep, when Shawn was persuading Gus to come with him to solve the case, James Roday randomly saw a pineapple as one of the props in Gus's kitchen. He just decided to pick it up and say "Should I slice this up for the road?". The writers thought it was funny, so they decided to incorporate pineapples with the show more. They soon became known as Shawn's favorite food biggrin.gif .

Hi Bubba here, it's funny how they do that in every episode.

You have to admit it's a quirky enough item to incorporate into the show. Pineapples don't get enough love these days.

This Just In...

WONKA candy has replaced the Watermelons and Cherries with Mangos... and get this... PINEAPPLES!

Sean and Gus should totally incorporate this somehow! It'd be brilliant!

Thanks!

What candy? Or is it just a general thing now with the candy?

Hey, maybe WONKA can support the show if they advertise pineapple flavored candy.

I loved the Pineapple jokes but, too had no idea where they originated from. Lucky for me the pilot re-aired for the classic, "You want me to slice this up for the road?"

Priceless. >{::.)

(Am now attempting to make a pineapple emoticon. Sanity is being questioned.)

Sanity's only questioned when you style your hair like a pineapple.

I guess it helps when I state the Wonka RUNTS now have Pineapples. Ha. My bad. Thanks for noticing so I can clarify!

I had some today, and they were actually very yummy. Much better than the old watermelons!

Thanks man!
SqweekyKleen
That clarifies things, thanks. smile.gif

It'd be funny, but I don't know if anyone'd get the traditional pineapple joke if they aren't shaped like the fruit. Would be like holding up a soccer ball going, "HAY LOOK PINEAPPLE."

This is one of the things that makes Psych such a great show. Those little things thrown in for fun just add to the greatness of the show. I go grocery shopping and when I am in the produce department, get a big smile on my face when I see the stack of pineapples. It's just funny how a common fruit has made such a big impact on Psych fans. It's genius I tell you, pure genius. cool.gif

outstanding!

My 13 year old son loves this show, his pseudo-religious following of this show lead to some of his friends stopping by with pineapples for him on Christmas.
