i dont have a fancy tv or digital cable. i will be getting that box for the switch in 2009 but thats it. will i stil be able to see raw after the switch in a few weaks without a new tv.

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to see it but it wont be at it's highest resolution. You should call your cable provider and ask about that though.
