I have noticed the shiney bits in his hair when its sunny but I don't see them normally. I'm 33 and have some stray greys...

That pic is beautiful. Look at those arms.
Oh I love those pic! Oh man, I'm too old for this. I guess I'll put myself off for a while.

Great photo, Evelina!! Shall I post it here as an image, so that we can have Vestokes' Touching Evil photo, along with this one? smile.gif He does look adorable (but then, when *doesn't* JD look adorable)...

I just wonder if this was taken on the set of T.E?He Does look hot though!I hope it doesn't get any rumors going.

Just thought I should post this terrific photo of JD that was attached to the Playbill article, so we don't lose track of it over time! [this is from the article about JD starring in Don't Dress for Dinner in Chicago...]

Now that I'm looking at this photo, I realize that rarely do I see Jeffrey in red. It's a good color on him, that's for sure! wink.gif

QUOTE (PhilippaConnors @ Sep 25 2008, 12:50 PM) *
I think Jeffrey has a few silvery hairs - I only say this, because sometimes when he's out in the sunlight there's a bit of shimmer in his hair, like the light catches a bit of shimmer...which is actually a very cool effect, in my opinion. It's very slight and not noticeable at all when he's not in direct sunlight.

Here's a photo of JD playing golf somewhere - this is from the little Amesbury, MA newspaper...there wasn't a reference to when this was taken...he looks gorgeous!

Wonderful find! I haven't seen this one ................. he looks so good. What a lucky girlfriend he has laugh.gif !

Linky? PLEEEEEEEEZE!!!

(((whimper, drool)))

Dunno about "eye candy", though. Looks-wise, definitely...it's just that there's so much more THERE there. I always think of eye-candy as being relatively empty-headed, which just doesn't fit what I've seen of Mr. Donovan. Even the interviews I've seen/read show a lot of intelligence.

Don't think they've ever cast a non-Commonwealth actor for Bond. But since JD's from the "Commonwealth of Massachusetts" maybe they could get him in on a technicality. He's certainly physical enough, and clearly has no problem with dialects. And, IMO, he's waaaaay hotter than Connery ever was in the late 60s/early 70s!

Well, I didn't know if I should start a new topic on an event that Jeffrey Donovan *didn't* attend, so I decided to post this info here at the JD-aholics support group (as I figured enquiring minds will check this thread anyway, lol)... indeed, JD couldn't attend the “Joslin Under the Stars” event in Boston (to benefit the Joslin Diabetes Center) due to the fact that he is still working on Burn Notice. Here's an excerpt from the news blurb via the Boston Herald dated September 25, 2008:
“Sex and the City” flamboyant fashionisto Willie Garson is back in Boston this week to lend his star shine to the Joslin Diabetes Center’s 4th annual “Joslin Under the Stars” event. ...Sadly, Jeffrey Donovan, an Amesbury homey and star of USA Network’s “Burn Notice” - who has been a fixture at the event for the past three years - had to bow out of the event at the last minute because of his filming schedule.

Thanks for that, Pippa

Absolutely that's fine, FunnyD. But thank you for asking, that was very thoughtful of you. smile.gif It made me laugh when I read it the other day (Pippa) - that nickname hadn't ever occurred to me! The funny peculiar thing about all of this is that my "real" name is also prone to nicknames (which I'm fine with, btw)...

And my "real" name is just the opposite. My sister gets away with a shortened form and that's it. Two other friends have graced me with one knickname each, but they're not riffs on my name. And they're "exclusives"--I wouldn't answer anyone else who used one.

Anyway...guess I'd heard Pippa as a short form ages ago. As for thoughtful...well, shucks. Actually, since "Phi" sounds like "Fi", it was more damage control or self defense! wink.gif

JD in blue swim trunks

Ta very much, Boo! I happened upon it in another thread, too.
Gotta say, the 2nd photo, the fashion one? Did _nothing_ for me. And made his legs look like pipe-cleaners. Bleah. But swim trunks? THAT'S what I'm talkin' bout! Even if he's not wearing them nearly as low around the hips as he's worn his trousers in Burn Notice. Swear to god, the man must've taken (and aced) an anatomy class he's got such definition on those little, easily overlooked or easily covered ab muscles.

Oh, and thanks to whoever it was that posted about how they'd met JD and his eyes really are blue. I keep seeing green on the laptop and hadn't got it quite pinned down. 'Course, it only matters because I like knowing things. The guy could have the most ordinary shade of brown eyes and still be completely riveting.

Oh, and I don't have screen caps, Boo, but I was really noticing the lowered waistline and the abs at the end of Old Friends when he's on the phone with Sam and dealing with the SmileyFaceBalloon Bouquet (ok, potted plant. Whatever.).

And I hear he's even more buff this season. I think the writers should let him prove it!

I too was really impressed by JD's performance in Homicide: Life on the Streets. I saw the episode a few weeks ago and thought he was just so amazing. I posted this little review several pages back, but I thought I'd re-post it...

Okay, this is less about eye candy and more about praising JD's acting. I wanted to post some screencaps of JD from his performance in Homicide: Life on the Street. He plays a very bad guy in this one and he's on the run. It was bone-chilling. In this scene, he's at a bar having a drink and a news bulletin comes on the television and the bartender recognizes him as the killer everyone is looking for - and JD downs his drink in one gulp and then while still holding onto the shot-glass, he makes this "shhhh" motion to the bartender. It's the change in his expression...amazing.

Hi, Pippa!

Nothing wrong with being addicted to talent along with the looks, is there? tongue.gif The most attractive gent of my personal acquaintance is that way largely due to his talent as a performing artist--and the way he employs it.

From those stills and what I've seen on BN, JD is a master of those fleeting changes of expression. I've mentioned the scene in the Pilot where Mikey turns on the charm, the art dealer offers to show him his Greco-Roman nude wrestling statues, and Mike goes through another 2-3 expressions.

Maybe sometime I'll start a thread along the lines of "For episode X, how many times do you see Michael's facial expression change--in the same shot and in some way that communicates something isn't quite what it seems." What do you think?

Are there any Homicide epis on the web? Linky?

FunnyD, here's the cross-post from the Michael Westen shirtless thread...adding this as a contribution to the "Oh, to be that [fill in the blank]" - OH, TO BE THAT SWEATER!!! tongue.gif

Okay, so these photos are from a charity gig that Jeffrey Donovan attended earlier this year in Boston (January, I think?). Most of us have probably already seen these, but what I *didn't* realize is that Jeffrey auctioned off his SWEATER. blink.gif Here's the info and a couple of photos:

Hot Stove, Cool Music 2008 - Amesbury native and star of the USA television show "Burn Notice" Jeff Donovan looked for a high bid on the Jason Varitek guitar being held by Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein at the Hot Stove, Cool Music benefit show at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston on Jan. 6. The opening bid for the guitar was $3000 and it sold somewhere between $5000-$6000. Apparenly Jason helped design it and autographed it. Photo: Robert E. Klein / Boston Globe

Now *this* photo is from a set of photos taken by someone (available via flickr.com) and here's the caption that accompanies this pic:

Theo explaining how Jason Varitek came to design this guitar, which was auctioned off along with Jeff Donovan's sweater.

Okay, so here are my questions:

1. did JD take the sweater off *immediately* after the winning bid was entered?
2. if so, where are the sweater-less photos of JD????? tongue.gif laugh.gif

FunnyD, I just did a cursory search on hulu.com and didn't see it. I wish NBC/Universal hadn't ended their affiliation with iTunes (as I'm sure if was once available to download there at one time sad.gif). I also checked to see if amazon.com offered the eppies via its "amazon unbox" service, but it looks like the show is only available on DVD. I checked out the Homicide DVDs from my local library. The real treat for me was that unbeknownst to me Bruce Campbell starred in a two-part episode in this same season as the episode with Jeffrey Donovan! That was really cool. smile.gif
