The cases are really good, but it's the way DPB uses humor among the characters that sets NCIS apart from the other shows like this.

I like the characters and their behavior and their relation to eachother. And of course I like the jokes I think the charakters play a big role on this series.
I think the cases are not special for me. Ok some are really good but it's not special. It exists a lot of series in which the cases are more exciting.
So the humor is very important at this series *gg*

Bubba, I hope you will get the chance to see an episode very soon, perhaps catch up the first four seasons via netflix or your local library or rental store. Fantastic show. I've always loved the interactions between the characters. NCIS is one of the few shows I've seen to loose a staple character and replace them with someone equally good but the polar opposite in most respects. The stories are fairly complex most of the time but the characters take center stage in most cases. Just very well done entertainment.

I agree! But I know there are episodes I missed, so this is great! I also thinks it's cool cuz they use a lot of real references from the cities around DC, like where I used to work/live.

I love the character-driven writing on this show, the interaction between the characters, especially the humor. I didn't start watching until the first of season three and was a bit confused, but within three or four episodes I was hooked. Hooked enough to order seasons one and two and later season three. It's the only show since La Femme Nikita that I will watch the reruns over and over.

The characters make the show and the situations their put into are just the icing on the cake. I agree that it's character driven and that the comedy are two things that really make it work. I've watched it since it started on JAG and was dying until it finally aired as it's own show. I'm glad for the reruns because somewhere in I think season two I was traveling and working a lot so I missed quite a few episodes. It's just a very dynamic show and Bubba I'm sure you'll like it a lot seeing the other shows whose boards you visit on here. Also to the person that watched La Femme Nikita I'm right there with you. Sunday Night Heat was such a great feture USA used to have and I think they need to bring something like that back to liven up the Network again and bring in more viewers. Hopefully NCIS will do the trick.

i loveee this show:)

I am fairly new to watching NCIS, I started watching around March. Since then I have become totally addicted. I went out the next day and got season 1 on DVD. Last week I got season 5, and yesterday I got season 3. I intend to get 2 and 4 when I get paid. The only disappointing thing for me is I miss most of the NCIS reruns during the week on USA, because I don't get home from work until around 5:45PM (central time). I would be such a happy gal if the people at USA ran the reruns a couple hours later. I try to watch it whenever its on. i've endured the whole 12 hour marathons they run sometimes. I watch every second of those marathons.
