First post outside the Raw forum and only because this is actually an interesting issue.

Taking it out is a good thing!!
Now I don't get the USA Network (not living in the States), but the kind of language used doesn't have to be used because people think it's "cool". Let's take a look at the 3 examples that were brought up.

*Scene from the rat zap in Tapia's house*
Before: "Mike I'm a grown ass man!"
Now: "Mike I'm a grown UP man!"
The use of ass rather than up can be used as a sign of more maturity and emphasis on the phrase. Like if I said crap as a sign of disappointment and you replace it with pooey. It's just not how the script writers wanted that line to be taken.
QUOTE
*Inside Tapia's house, rat zap*
Before: "These rats are gonna hump twice a day"
Now: "These rats are gonna MATE twice a day"
The use of the word hump is more for comic relief. You put in mate and you're now trying to make it more "politcally correct" and it is no longer funny.
QUOTE
*Tapia speaking to Roberto*
Before: "I will chop your balls *off*"
Now: "I will chop your TONGUE *off*"
Once again, comic relief. Saying you'll chop off someone's balls is kind of funny, but if you stick in tongue, it then automatically makes it actually sound like a serious thread. Hell, replacing "balls" with "testicles" would've at least still kept it clean and funny.
I'm not saying swearing is always good and all, for example The Departed was a movie that had a lot of swearing, but most of it was not neccessary. But when you have to censor and change words to a point where they lose their original meaning, it just takes away from a movie.

Teaching kids its not okay to swear like that.
Censoring a simple swear word is nothing. I'm tired of people saying kids emulate what they see on tv. If that were true and they copied the movie, you should be worried about kids getting a hold of guns and shooting people instead of them swearing. Big picture, the censors and filters do nothing of value if you really believe kids emulate what they see in movies/tv/videogames/etc.
