Ric Flair’s angle was changed from the original concept due to the fact that the Nature boy has his supports and detractors in the company. Many in the company don’t like the fact the Flair is going to end up beating a lot of top stars and then leaving.

They should be happy for him! He's been in this business longer than anyone else, and I think he deserves to go out with a blast! He's done so much with his career and needs something like this to finish it off.

Here's the thing. He doesn't need anything, this is purely a want. Him winning a bunch of meaningless matches towards the end of his career and making jobbers of top stars isn't going to make us remember him any differently.
Exactly, I mean Ric Flair is WAY past his prime, and plus, he doesn't even let the young stars shine nowadays.
