Several of us have had the same idea about a real concerted effort involving every 4400 fan GLOBALLY. So everyone let stand up and really be counted then if we have done our best to 'SAVE THE 4400" we never have to live with ifs and maybes.


I hope this is OK I've never done anything like this before but I feel a very deep passion for this show and had to do something to ward off my own ifs and maybes. Anyone with more experience with this kind of thing is truly welcome. I'm more a follower than a leader if you know what I mean.


We tried sunflower seeds, we tried letters so far USA has ignorred us. We have a major DVD effort in the works (fingers crossed everyone). What is definte to date is we have BOOKS coming thanks to CBS Paramount. I think if everyone buys the "4400" books we will not be ignorred!

Whether we get more be it books and/or TV depends on us. No one of us can do this alone. Making money is the major motivator for these Companies.

It seems another on the board believes letters won't make a drastic enough impact and truthfully I've been thinking along thhe same line. But tons of sunflower seeds might so we need everyone on the same page in this. I willing to send seeds on Jan 2.

Yeah June I don't think that letters alone will make a big enough impact... On my quote in Bubba's post i kept saying letters but I was implying letters and seeds... When we first heard news of the possible cancellation back in aug or sept we started the seed idea and I went and bought a pound of seeds but to be honest I never got around to sending them so I still have them. I will DEFINATELY send them this time on JAN 2!!!! Everyone remember that day.

I'm with you guys to send seeds but does anyone have the address that might have an impact....or maybe several addresses? There have been several added to several threads but what address should we use? I'm on board with the idea.

Hey! I think this is a great idea. I'm in! It might also be helpful to print out the petition and mail it in with the letter and seeds during that week!

I totally agree and was planning on doing the same. In my previous letters for the last couple of months (asking for a renewal) I would periodically print out the petition and include it in the envelope.

great idea, but about the date send it that day or send it now so that it arrives then coz for me it willl be impossible ,the mail from france and french territories takes forever to get there up to 2weeks sometimes , i hav e a friend in florida and everytime i'm like u havent gotten my letter yet?

I think we are all going to mail on the 2nd. Figure it this way: the US letters will probably arrive on the 3rd or 4th, then the overseas letters will arrive all at once too.

Personally, I'm sticking with the letter-a-day for a week idea so its no problem. All that matters is that you write a letter to make them hear your voice!

I agree, I think it is best to aim for a specific date otherwise it might not make as much impact, like you said the letters from the US take a few days, usually from the UK it takes 5-7 days and say 14 days for all the other countries, it'll keep the momentum going for a while.

And I think the one-a-day for a week is best as well.

I've just been reading about Journeyman (which was also cancelled) and the fans are doing their own campaign as well to the same place we have to send ours, so we need to make sure we make an impact, we don't want it overshadowed!!

It is great to see that people doing everything possible to help the show continue in the air, i love the show and i will also o my part to help out. In retrospect it is pretty pathetic how the USA Network let the show die like this, i don't know about you but i before 3 months ago, i had never even heard about the 4400, heck, i found out about it when i left the country in vacation, since then i have bought the 3 seasons in dvd and watched them and thanks to the magic of the DVR i've gotten to see all of season 4, regardless of this, i feel that the cancellation was uncalled for, specially since they don't seem to advertise any other show outside of Monk and Psych, LOL, in all honesty i don't even know about any other original show the network has. Anyways I will be hear doing my part in all the necessary efforts to help the 4400 get another season.

I forgot to add, i think we should send the letters with the sunflower seeds twice a week, i think it will make a greater impact.

Ohh no, i am positive i already helped one show avoid the axe (Jericho) and i am more than ready to do my part, i was just stating the facts.

I have never been outside the USA so I know nothing of customs. Can other countries send items like sunflower seeds through the mail? If not, I know there are US-based Online companies you can order from and send to whoever you want.


Anyone know about this? All these possible problems need to be worked out before our D-Day, January 2, 2008.

I'm curious about why we choose Sunflower seeds to send. To me it seems to tie in with one of the 4400 in season 1, who was killed off early (so it seems to fit) but I'd like to know if that was the reason or if there was something else that I'd missed. Just wondering as to the reasoning behind it. I think it's a great idea, and I think it'll get the attention of the higher ups, and I'll be sending my letter, but I'd like to know why I'm sending a sunflower seed too.

Season 4: Jordan kidnaps Kevin Berkoff in order to stop his development of the "corpus collosum" / CAT SCAN test. Shawn and several P+'ers rescue him. Kevin says '....they wouldn't give me any sunflower seeds! I found that agitating' {paraphrasing}. That's where the sunflower seed idea came from.

So I am so bummed... My most favorite show in the world has just been cancelled.. The 4400! I don't think I can live. Us fans have been waiting since October to hear if it was going to be picked up again and they decide to break the news one week before Christmas what a bummer!! International pepole order your seeds online. This place was posted on another thread. http://www.nutsonline.com they can send them directly and they arrive next day. Which means should arrive internationally at the same time as the US letters. http://www.the4400guide.com is the only consistently up to date site I've seen. Of critical impotance is making sure the letters reach Bonnie Hammer, president of USA, and maybe Jeff Wachtel also. Otherwise someone unimportant might only read them.

I think a major problem is USA failing to use the power of NBC Universal to advertize the show. NBC and Universal Media have merged, and bought up USA and Sci Fi a few years ago. USA's Monk's cast appear on shows like Conan, but I've never seen a single brilliant actor for The 4400 or Battlestar Galactica (except Tricia Helfer because she was a model) on Leno or Conan. If they like something they endorse a show. They've never seen these shows, and assume they're the usual sci fi based on ads. If they realized they were politically-insightful, they might appreciate the uniqueness of these shows instead of just advertizing "Heroes."

As an example I'd use the ending of Season 3 or the last half of Season 4 for The 4400. BSG is great from the start. I've sent e-mails but they don't get to them. We need fan mail addresses for the influential people in Hollywood to make this work! USA is letting it die because they don't care about it enough to promote it intelligently. Let's face it, most sci fi sucks. We have to let influential people know why this is different and very politically-relevant. I saw Brad Pitt talking the other day on Charlie Rose (PBS) and Larry King about there being an underclass in the US whose interests aren't acknowledged by this government. That's the entire essence of what Joran Collier was doing -- empowering the powerless and standing up for them. The underclass or powerless are those whom the Marked are against.

The right people need to know about this show -- not just about it's special effects, time travel and other sci fi setting elements, but the thematic essence of the show!
