Been a fan of the show since a couple months after it debuted, but I didn't get to see all the episodes so I got the season 1 DVD a few weeks ago and have been watching quite a bit.

I don't mean appearance-wise, but something about James' mannerisms that reminded me of Jim Carrey. Jim is my favorite actor btw. It is not at all a slight on James. I think he's a very funny, but what I like about Jim Carrey, aside from making me laugh, is that he is a really good at improv. If you've seen "Dumb and Dumber" there's a scene where Jim Carrey's character walks out of a bar, looks at a newsclipping about the moon landing, and shouts "we landed on the moon!" Not scripted, Jim came up with that on the spot. I think it was an actual newsclipping used at the location filmed.

After listening to the audio commentaries, I was pleased to know the pineapple bit was all James. As well as other bits that he improv'd. Very talented to be able to do that.

And Dulé' kinda looks like my bf of 5 years, so that's another treat to watch Psych.

They are sort of similar, aren't they? I've never noticed that!

I don't see any similarities at all really. I can sort of see what you are saying but Jim C. is much more animated and goofier.

I'm not going to call you crazy, however I can't really see the similarities. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Yeahh...I'm not sure I see any similarities really.

Although both are the best ad-libbers, they are different. Jim got his first break on "In Living Color" which he did outrageous characters. Now, Jim wants to be taken as a serious actor not the guy who did "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective." James, on the other hand, always respected the material he is given (especially since he is a writer, himself.). If he feels something needs to be add without comprosing the material, James will, as we have told in the commentary, make the scene better. I see both Jim and James as they are: different actors who bring the material the best they know how.

I see the similarity in that they both use their body movements and voice projection to accentuate their comedic acting, but James Roday is incredibly sexy and good looking, while Jim Carey, is, um, not.

Oh my goodness NO WAY!!!!!!!!! Jim carey like eryn said is not cute!! James Roday is!! James has a cute funnyness and comedy to him. Jim Carey has a wierd rude sence of humor which i don't like i saw his movie A.V Pet detective and i thought it was funny but grose too so i would say no they are nothing alike!!!

Now that u mention that, he does remind me of jim carrey. they are both hilarious and are great actors as well. they would be great, i think, in and episode of psych dont u think so? that would be worth watching over and over again. haha
