So I am posting here, because I feel disgusting. Ever since the holiday season came I have just been so stressed and have felt disgusting. Between all the food and no time to go to the gym I fear I am gaining weight and have noticed that my favorite pair of jeans, which used to be loose on me, are now kind of tight. I don't think anything I wear looks good any more.... I FEEL SO FAT!!! What should I do? How do you guys make yourselves feel better when you feel like this?

Whenever I feel like that I stop and think for a while about how petty a few extra pounds are and how shallow it is for me too worry about something as minor as my weight. It doesn't make me feel better right away but it helps to put everything in perspective. You know, of how my weight shifts from month to month don't really have any impact on my life as a whole.

I also cut down on my food intake and do some little exercises throughout the day (like sit-ups and push-ups) so that even if I didn't have time to actually work out I feel as if I at least did something. No, it doesn't really amount to much but it makes me feel better mentally and within a few days I'm feel fine again.

look, as an over weight teen I know exactly how you feel, but it's worse for me because I don't just feel like that during the holidays. I feel like that everytime I walk down the halls of my highschool, and see all of the skinny people. I've had to learn that just because our countries idea of healthy, is being supermodel thin, doesn't mean that is the only way to be healthy. I'm phisically fit, and eat right but I can't seem to lose weight and so I've just decided that weight shouldn't matter. A couple of pounds isn't a big deal, and if you think your jeans aren't fitting right ask the first guy you see and they'll tell you what's up. I once confided in my friend James that I was embarassed to wear a swim suit in front of people and he had this to say: "Sure your not super model thin, but who is?? you look fine, and if you are over weight than you hold it very well." To this day it is the nicest thing anyone has said to me. So if you feel like you've gained a few pounds ask the people around you and I guarantee they wont have noticed the difference.

Its no big deal i mean plenty of people fell that way like oh i can't fit into my jeans anymore i mean thats okay just relax awhile go to the spa like bubba said. I have never been there because i am to young lol. But my mom went and said it was nice. And being an overweight teen doesn't matter to me i have a couple friends that are overweight and some people are born that way and can't lose the weight that easy but its cool i don't think it matters. I have friends who are overweight its no big as long as your healthy.

Like Riot13 I know what it's like to be..
overweight.
But of course I'm betting she's no where as close as overweight as I am.
You probably are just overreacting letstuneout [&&] you're probably still skinny.
Just a few more pounds!

Skinny is overrated!

But if it bothers you that much you should try a 12-1500 calories/day diet. Whatever you do, don't stop eating. If you do, the body will think it's starving so anything you eat thereafter will be stored as fat and you will only gain more weight. It's actually recommended people eat atleast 6 small, healthy meals a day.

An alternative to the gym could be light house cleaning, (polishing furniture, light hand washing) you will burn 2-2.5 calories/min or 120-150 calories/hr. Doing more extreme house work (cleaning windows, mopping floors, vacuuming) you burn 4-5 calories/min or 240-300 calories/hr!

Hope this helps. Good luck!
