Same here. Though, without the WTF part. I want an episode featuring Gus's brother now.

I'm so glad to see that the writers (and possibly the audience) want to explore Guster's family, however, Gus never mentioned he had a brother. True enough, the first season was sprinkled with familiar references. Earlier this season, we met his uncle, and hilarity ensued.

For arguments sake, Gus has two jobs, but there have been no sibling references at all - even in the flashbacks (or his previous blogs). I thought Shawn was his "brother from another mother." I love me some Gus, and he seems loyal to loved ones, but I'm troubled by this discovery. Also, judging by the tone of blog, there's no tension between them.

How in the world is Guster's bro going to be introduced to us?

If I missed something, please let me know.

(The way this is unfolding, we're going to find out Shawn has a twin.)

To make it right in my head, I'm imagining that maybe the brother is waaay older (like at least 10 years older) than Gus. That would explain why they are not particularly close, and why he never tags along with LittleGus in flashbacks.
Wait, nevermind...just remembered that last night Gus mentioned being 29 years old, and his parents being married for only 28 years, so the waaay older brother probably doesn't fit with that scenario. Hmmm.

Okay, new theory... maybe a half-brother? Maybe one of his parents is divorced/widowed, & had a child from that previous relationship/marriage?
Curses! Foiled again! BlogGus mentions his brother talking about *their* parents, so it sounds like are probably full brothers.

Maybe MysteryBrother went to a special boarding-type school (then why the lie about Gus being rejected by that one school to prevent him from going)?

Maybe MysteryBrother is way younger, or even just a bit younger. And maybe, they just aren't very close, so Gus doesn't mention him often. Or maybe Brother leads such a boring life that there's never any reason to mention him...nothing new is ever going on with him, so there's nothing to say? And maybe LittleGus was upset that he wasn't an only child anymore, so he pretended he didn't have a little brother for awhile, & that's why LittleGus never mentions him?

Or maybe whatever is written in the blogs is not supposed to be taken as "true" as information that is actually in the show. There are instances of conflicting info between the blog & show. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I think one blog entry mentions Shawn & Gus first meeting at a particular age (3rd grade, maybe?), but in the show, Shawn mentions having a best friend "since birth, almost," and I think there's another reference to some shared misadventure when Shawn & Gus were six years old.

So, I think I'm going to choose to ignore the potential existence of a brother until we hear about on the show.

True, what's written in the blogs is meant to be supplemental info, however, Gus is Shawn's better (male) half. In many ways, he can be considered a secondary protagonist. Fans were receptive to the inclusion of Gus' parents in the most recent episode, and a sibling would be a welcome addition. Think about it like this: We can meet Uncle Burton (who was hilarious) but not his bro, especially since Shawn and Gus are so tight? There could have been great tension and comedy between Shawn and Brother Guster, both trying to prove which one of them knew Burton the most.

If Lassiter mentioned he has a sibling, it would have been less of an issue (even though I like him). My apologies, but I'd love to meet newly mentioned Brother.

I agree that the only way it would make sense is if Gus's brother went off to colledge when Gus was really little.

Very interesting. Why have we never discussed Gus' blogs before?

I like that idea!

In the commentary for Scary Sherry 2: Bianca Toast, the producers mention talking to Deon Richman (the actual Bud on The Cosby Show) to come on the show. That would be sweet since Dulé already has Clair Huxable as his mom, why not Bud as his brother?
