Rule 53 is only about DATING Logan. To date nothing really horrible has happened to any of his partners. Hrm... Guess he's due then?

Actually on the mother ship, his first partner Max Greevy was murdered and his second partner Phil Ceretta was shot (but not killed). Nothhing has happened to any of his partners since he's been on CI.

Wow... That revolving door of partners isn't a new thing after all... I just remember him and Lenny back in the day.

Greevy's death is why he has a clinical relationship with Elizabeth Olivet. He had trouble dealing from what I understand.

This looks like its going to be another great episode. But, of course, we all know the rule (I just don't know the number!)--the previews always lie. I bet Falaaci gets herself out of that guy's grip and then beats the crap out of him!

If she still has one more epi like I think she does, then yeah.

If not though... Anything could happen.

That was a good episode ("Confession"). Poor, poor Mikey. He takes Max's death pretty hard.

She still has one episode, my biggest wonder, is will we get a preview at the end of this episode.

"Senseless" looks like an exciting episode, with Falacci with a knife to her throat, yet a sad episode with the shooting of those college kids..... I am seriously looking forward to this episode..... (But I still wish I could see Goren make a cameo (like, walking by on the street, still looking for his nephew, while Logan/Falacci walk on by...............)

This seems to strike pretty close to home for you, yet L&O always have used headline stories for it's shows--typically within 6 months of the event. CSI and other crimes shows do the same thing.

i cant believe you have the nerve to defend this cramp you take a walk in Natasha Ariel's life then you tell me if it is right to do this. Take a second to imagine how the families had to find this out through television. When you feel what they are feelin when something so tragic happens in your life and they put it on tv tell me how you feel cause if you feel the same way you do now you dont have a heart but if you feel the pain they feel i bet you would understand

Life is based off of pain. Sure, morally it might not seem right, but they are just telling her story. They aren't be disrespectful about it. They are telling the story of the families, and the victims. Nobody dies in vain, there voices live on.

there have been theatrical and made for TV movies about true events for as long as i can remember.. and the wait time is getting shorter and shorter... the Law and Orders have been *ripping from the headlines* since day one.. it's nothing new.. and they weren't the first to do it.
i empathyse with all involved and i see both sides.. i don't know if i could handle it either..but i don't fault USA or Law and order CI for maintaining what they've always done...if it is done with respect and compassion it can make the public aware of the tragedy and heartache.. sometimes we can't feel it unless we walk in those shoes.. lets hope this is the way this event is portrayed.

This isn't new. Is it morally right? I don't know, is it morally wrong--not really. It's that grey area inbetween.

Also, usually, while Law & Order takes from the headlines, they then put they own verison of the events. Based on true events, but not totally nonfiction. I don't believe the writers or producers say that this is what happened--they leave that for the actual detectives and courts to decide. Before you start screaming about the families 'finding out this way'. What are they finding out?

Do I think some college kids lost their lives in a senseless and horrible way? Yes I do. Do I think that USA, NBC and the Law & Order franchise is causing undo harm and pain to the families involved? No. I don't. Did the national news agencies cause harm by reporting this story the first time? Did the newspapers that ran stories on this tradegy cause harm?

Before you start complaining, stop--take a deep breath and think. Are they really doing anything different?

Can't wait to see, I saw in one article, they said this was the season finale, but guess that was another typo.

L&O has always, in my opinion, been really good about handling these kinds of stories in a careful and respectful manner. In a way, they're trying to tell a similar story to actual events in order to grant perspective on things that may otherwise remain a jumpble of thoughts and feelings. Are they trying to make a good dramatic TV show? Yes. Are they trying to run over the feelings of those people who involved in the actual event? Certainly not. Are they trying to maybe bring the story to a wider audience in a way that lets them see the more human side, rather than the sterilized news reports, that try more for shock and horror than compassion? I think so.

DSU I can understand why you could be upset about this, and you have every right to feel however you wish, but please also try to understand the other points of view. I hope you feel better now that you have stated your opinion, but we will also keep holding our own opinions as well. We respect your need to disagree, but please refrain from attacking other members. You don't know who has been through what here. While they may not have been part of a news-covered event, they could have experienced equal tragedy in their own lives and you wouldn't know it.

I hope that you can see past this and join us here as a fellow fan, even though I realize how unlikely that may be. Please at least watch the episode tonight and then come back and discuss what you did or did not like about the way they treated the subject. We love a good debate around here, just look at the Ship or No Ship thread! As long as you're respectful of us we'll do the same for you, and be happy to read whatever you have to say.

They might not kill her. She might just be wounded really badly or something. If they turn it around and Logan gets hurt I'm gonna be mad. And happy at the same time because then I can write a hurt/comfort Logan story.

I guess I've just far too many of them for Bobby & G/E, I'm way tired of everyone tearing the poor boy apart. Yes I know my own fic is kind of like that, but really I'm just playing on the situation that was already created. The offical writers put him through enough... I don't need to make it worse.

I just want to write SOOO bad and I'm stuck with my Ross/Rodger's story. And hurt/comfort's pretty easy to write.

That explains some things.

Mainly why it seems to spread faster than a cold at a kissing contest.

And why so much of it looks like it was written by a 4th grader... I don't want to disparage anyone's writing, but DANG kids... Have some respect for the language. Grammar and spelling COUNT!!

I can understand that--even agree with it a little. Which is why if you ever see those errors in my fic--take the 2x4 and slap me upside the head and knock the sense back into me!

I can't speak for Janx, and I'm not referring to any one particular fic. I know I find it terribly hard to read fanfic with words spelled incorrectly, and improper grammar used.

Like saying "their on the way" instead of "they're on the way" (I just made that example up), etc...

I'm very anal-retentive, and I've bailed on more than one story because I was too distracted by grammar and spelling (or lack of same).

I don't have a beta reader for my fic, but I should, I know. I used to have one who was really tough on me. Now I rererererereread my fic before posting, to catch goofs. And run it through spellcheck.

And some goofs still get by. The problem with being my own beta reader is that I sometimes read what I "think" I wrote instead of what's actually there.

Just my two cents.

I was NOT referring to a particular fic. I was referring to fics in general. Sorry for the confusion.



It's not that I haet the genre as a whole, it's just that there's so MUCH of it, alot of it POORLY done, and so out of character... Between the bad spelling, no punctuation and the buckets of tears shed for every little thing... I never watched soaps, but I think that's what it would be like. I'm sure it could be fine as long as it's not these overwrought melodramas I've mostly seen so far.

Again not thinking of any fic in particular.




I have also bailed on reading some stories because of the grammar/spelling/puncuation issues. I don't have a beta either. Fortunately, and I certainly don't mean to sound conceited here, I'm a good speller and have little trouble with grammar. Word yells at me about some of my grammar, but that's because I write the way I speak, or the way my characters speak, which isn't perfectly according to the rules. The work that I posted in the fanfic forum was first draft, one proofread, and that's mostly to catch any places where my brain jumped ahead of my fingers and I skipped a word.

Honestly, if I wasn't able to type as fast as I do, I'd never get anything written because my brain would be too frustrated at having to slow down too much.

Out-of-character is very hard to read, too, and a lot of the time it unfortunately accompanies bad grammar and spelling.




Spell/grammar-checker HATES the way Goren speaks - in fits and starts, and changing words mid-thought, cuz his brain is going 500 mph and his mouth can't keep up.

Chris looks good in this ep. I'm liking it so far. The pacing is a bit slow, but the cold epen was chilling.

The previews lied about falacci. She did get cut, but she beat the guy up. I actually think that it was probably a victim of editing. this ep seemed longer than normal, and there was a lot of stuffthat was going on.
