Full Version: Not watching Offense tonight...

Twice today I got a Google alert with a link to an article in the National Ledger, whateve that is, about how little Andrew McCarthy is appearing in tonight's CI episdode. About his experience on the show a few years ago, they quote him as follows:" 'I was fired because I refused to allow a fellow actor to threaten me with physical violence, bully me and try to direct me,' McCarthy was quoted saying at the time."

Sorry, but if Warren Leight wants to employ that sniveling brat after what he said, then I will do my part by not watching the episode. I had just begun to feel some interest in the Logan episodes, but I'll wait until the next one to watch. Guess McCarthy isn't scared of Noth.

nod to that

Hi Bubba here, I agree as well. Also, couldn't this have been put in the Offense thread we already have.

That would make a lot of sense, Bubba.

Was McCarthy the one who had a run-in with VDO? I know exactly nothing about the encounter, only that I'd heard of it (if it's even the same instance.)

Yeah...if you dont watch LOCI, it doesn't do anything to McCarthy.
jcsavestheday
glad to see the show of support for LOCI.

</sarcasam>

I think that it would probably be a good idea to watch it, because it is a show of support to Noth.

I'm not quite sure why McCarthy is in this episode, maybe there's more to the story than we know. Maybe him and Vince just have problems, but he dosen't have a problem with Noth or anything else. And since vince si kind of the star of the show, making him happy was probably important at the time.

Also, there are times you have to work with people you don't like. Wolf and Noth have been on shaky terms for ten years, but Noth has a job becaus he's a good actor.

You know, if the people who work on CI don't have a problem with Andrew McCarthy that's enough for me. Support the show...He's just a guest star, it's not like they've hired him on as a regular.

I'mma just stick with the idea of supporting LOCI. tongue.gif

I wondered who the actor was that complained about VDO several years ago. Andrew McCarthy is a self-serving fairy for coming forward now with the comments. It was probably one of the few jobs he was able to get. He sould be grateful for the work. He probably thought he was hot s**t, and VDO wouldn't stand for it. It is his show.

Andrew McCarthy is a little wuss man. Is he over 5 feet? Cynthia Watrous totally out-acted him. She was great. He was, as usual for all his roles, pathetic.

Is Cynthia Watrous the chick that played his wife? If so what else is she on?

She was on Lost last season. She was killed off after getting arrested in Hawaii for DWI in real-life. She used to be on the Guiding Light. She is a great actress.

It was so long ago. She was married to Josh Lewis on GL. I think she was Sunny/Solita. She had a dual role. She went crazy.

I vaguely remember her...but not well enough. I remember the character. I remember something when she got killed off (I was probably 2 or 3 when that happened, but I have a really good memory for whatever reason) Guiding light. so many memories.I also remembered when reva drove off the bridge. and then we saw her in heaven, and then she came back, and then she got cloned. then they killed the clone. (and that's where I stopped watching, although I did read something about her or her sister being royalty at san cristabol)
.
bugtussle47
well divenda.. by not watching you missed one of the best episodes of the season.
McCarthy showed extreemly bad taste by bringing the whole thing up again after being asked to guest star, whether there is any truth to it all or not... he played a sniviling little prick in this epi.. no doubt based on his true character.

*bug*
jcsavestheday
I don't think that he brought it up, but was asked about it by the paper. Not that it makes me like him any more.
jcsavestheday
Cynthia played annie dutton on Guiding Light FYI.

Yes, you are right. I thought she was Sunny/Solita. That is the dark-haired girl that was just on Battlestar Gallactica Razor. Another Josh Lewis wife though.

Very true. Didn't Sunny die? I remember those days vaguely.

I think Sunny died and Annie Dutton went crazy. I can't even remember how many years ago that was.
ValleyOfTheShadow
lmfao, i absolutely love how this got totally off track.

On topic, not watching Offense probably only hurt LOCI.

I don't agree with it being the best episode this season, it was probably the best Logan/Falacci epi of the season though.
waldkind
and unless you're a Nielsen family USA probably couldn't care less if you watch or not I guess

Do they still have "Nielsen Families?" or do they track ratings differently now?

They still have Nielsen families. My family was one for a week, maybe two. I don't remember, it was about five years ago.

They also have people who have specail tlevisions where they can track what they watch.

How does Nielsen determine how many millions of viewers in EACH demographic group watch a given show, based on thousands (?) of Nielsen families or households with "boxes"?

I think that its pretty much random.
