Hey guys, this weekend will mark an event that is 5 years in the making:

The Elimination Chamber

The Elimination Chamber is one of the most dangerous, brutal and most of all controversial matches in the history of the WWE.

The Elimination Chamber was 10 Tons of Steel, 36 ft. in Diameter and 2 miles of chain deciding to punish the human body.

The Elimination Chamber was as Eric Bischoff described it as a combination of the 6-Man Hell in a Cell, the Royal Rumble and the NWA/WCW's Favorite Wargames.

The Elimination Chamber Rules were simple:

4 wrestlers will be confirmed in the internal chambers

2 wrestlers will start the match

Every 5 minutes another wrestler will enter the ring until everyone of them are involved

A wrestler is eliminated via pinfall or submission

The last remaining wrestler in the ring will win the World Heavyweight Title

Being either the WWE, SD! or ECW World Heavyweight Title

There were only 5 Elimination Chamber Matches:

The 1st one was @ Survivor Series 2002, the 2nd @ Summerslam 2003, the 3rd one was @ New Year's Revolution 2005, the 4th one @ New Year's Revolution 2006 and the 5th one was @ the infamous ECW December to Dismember in the 1st ever Extreme Elimination Chamber.

The World Heavyweight Title was defended 3 times in the Chamber, the WWE Heavyweight Title was only defended once in the Chamber and the ECW World Heavyweight Title was also defended only once in the Chamber as well.

The 1st Elimination Chamber Match was for the World Heavyweight Title:

It was Triple H, Chris Jericho, Booker T., RVD, Kane and HBK

HBK won the match when he hit Sweet Chin Music on Triple H and became the World Heavyweight Champion

The 2nd Elimination Chamber was also for the World Heavyweight Title:

It was Triple H, Jericho, HBK and 3 other wrestlers:

Kevin Nash, Goldberg and Randy Orton

Triple H won the match and retained the World Heavyweight Title especially after Triple H hit Goldberg with the Sledgehammer when it was given to him by Ric Flair

The 3rd Elimination Chamber Match was for the vacant World Heavyweight Title:

It was Triple H, Jericho, Orton and 3 others:

Batista, Chris Benoit and Edge w/HBK as the guest referee

Triple won the match and became a 5x World Heavyweight Champion and a 10x World Champion in the WWE

The 4th Elimination Chamber Match was for the WWE Heavyweight Title:

It was John Cena defending against HBK, Kane and 3 other wrestlers:

Kurt Angle, Carlito and Chris Masters

Cena won the match after he rolled up Carlito and then after the match, Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank and became the NEW WWE Heavyweight Champion

His 1st reign however lasted only 3 weeks when Cena won the belt back from Edge @ the 19th Annual Royal Rumble

The 5th Elimination Chamber was called the Extreme Elimination Chamber
and it was for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship

It was Big Show defending against RVD, Sabu, Test, CM Punk and Bobby Lashley

and @ the end, it was Lashley who speared the Big Show and got the pin and became the ECW World Heavyweight Champion

and that's your look @ an event that is 5 years in the making:

The Elimination Chamber

and also, RVD, Kevin Nash, Benoit, Angle and CM Punk were the 1st ones to get eliminated from the Elimination Chamber Match

However, there were many wrestling fans upset about the idead of the Elimination Chamber Match and said that it was completely unfair.

and also, the idea for the Elimination Chamber was very simple:

To out do Hell in a Cell, but to me, Hell in a Cell as well as the 6-Man Hell in a Cell will always outdo the Elimination Chamber.

Well WWE may have created their version of Wargames with the Elimination Chamber Match, but to me, Wargames and the 6-Man Hell in a Cell will ALWAYS be the best.

and also, WWE has the rights to Wargames, but the spirit of Wargames still lives in TNA Wrestling through Lockdown as well as Lethal Lockdown.
