Kim (fan4sure) already tipped her hand in the Writer's Strike thread below, but she's been waiting for me to return and make a main post. Last Friday (Nov. 9th) Kim and I spent a couple of hours on the set where they were shooting a couple of scenes from the last episode to be filmed for season six, Mr. Monk and the Three Julies. Of course I'm preparing a nauseatingly detailed report on the whole experience to which Kim will be contributing generously. She took almost all the pictures, none of which were actually taken on the stage where they were shooting. We didn't want to ruin the episode for anyone and more importantly it's against the rules. We did however get an opportunity to visit the standing sets and we got quite a few pictures there.

More later.

I just flew back into San Francisco last night... and boy are my arms tired.

Monk Set Visit

Wow! I hope you had fun biggrin.gif I'm waiting for the rest of photos.

Although my plane landed days ago, I haven’t! I’m still floating on air, or at least my spirits are. It was an absolute thrill of a lifetime to visit Paramount Studios, and even more so, to visit the set of my favorite TV show, Monk.

Never in my wildest dreams (well, maybe in my wildest!) did I ever think I would have the privileged opportunity to be an “invited” guest on the set of Monk. I had briefly contemplated scaling the studio walls to sneak in or taking a paid tour and then ditching the guide. But that may have landed me in jail. ohmy.gif

Instead, Teresa graciously asked me to accompany her on her studio visit which would be her second time on the Monk set. No date had been set but we anticipated it to be in November.

I tried not to think about it too much (yeah, right!!) because “things” happen and the set visit might not happen. And, boy, did “things” happen. Southern California was on fire, and then the writers went on strike.

But a date was settled on and we synchronized our travel plans. Hollywood, here we come! That town never knew what hit ‘em. smile.gif

That is awesome! You are very lucky - didn't you say you had already met Tony Shalhoub three times? I'm jealous. How do you arrange these things? I assume they completed filming all the episodes they had planned?

I can't wait to hear more!

Great pictures Teresa. One question what is on Natalie's table. Isn't that a menorah is it? The seven branched candelabrum but it looks for me like a new version of it. Am I right?

That's just a light-up plastic Christmas candle decoration - my mom has one exactly like it.
