1) Today I was surprised to see Garrett Dillahunt in "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford," which is a pretty good movie. It's definitely long in parts, and that's been critiqued quite a bit, but it has a really nice visual style, great acting, and the last third of the film is great.
It wasn't a huge part, but at least 12 minutes worth of screen time. It was such a different role, as the character was quite unintelligent, but it was great to see him. I really miss Matthew Ross....

Better than missing The 4400, I suppose... (Don't make me miss The 4400, USA network!)

2) Also, Peter Coyote (whom I also miss but not as much because he could come back) was the narrator for a great documentary called "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" about how Enron's major people lied about projected profits and how the faulty regulations and regulators colluded in letting them get away with it, until it was too late for all its poor employees and many investors. Great documentary about these arrogant guys.
3) I saw Patrick Flueger last year in a sweet little movie, starring Anthony Hopkins, called "The World's Fastest Indian". Typical feel-good movie, but I was excited to see Patrick there acting a scene with Hopkins, if only for a few minutes. He's such a great actor. If anyone should be nominated for an Emmy instead of those subpar actors from Heroes who were nominated, he'd be at the top of my list. Also, Chad Faust.... Jacqueline McKenzie, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Billy Campbell. (What? They're all consistently great!)

Hi Bubba here, it's weird to see these actors and actresses on other shows and movies. I will have to check some of these out.

I Love Sir Anthony Hopkins. Best thing I've seen with Peter Coyote wasnt an onscreen role..it was his narration of a National Geographic series. I kept the one called "The Storm of the Century" because it was so well done and his narration was top notch. When I pop it in the vcr I can't stop watching it.

No I totally agree with you, I mean it may be because I am such a 4400 geek, but I honestly think the show has some of the best acting in TV series today!!! I am always critisizing acting and I really can't find phoney actors on the show!!!

Funny you started this topic because I just saw a young Megalyn with a minor role in Peter Benchley's Creature on Sci Fi. The movie didn't hold my interest not a "Great Production" but she was a teen in the film.

Also, let us not forget gorgeous Joel Gretch in The Legend Of Bagger Vance as Bobby Jones

Just saw an episode of Enterprise with Kaj-Erik Eriksen (Danny Farrell) as a member of a group of Augments: humans who have been genetically enhanced, except Eriksen's character, Smike, is defective and gets left behind and then later killed by the leader of the Augments. Note, Smike reference from Nicholas Nickelby fame. Second fiddle yet again.

And hey who could forget these roles as well:
Joel Gretsch as Owen Crawford in "Taken." That is among my favorite movies on extraterrestrials. I remember when I first saw the trailer for the 4400 back in 2004 and I saw Joel and I remember thinking something along the lines, 'Hey he's from 'Taken'. I'm gonna like this show.
Jacqui McKenzie in "Deep Blue Sea." I'm a fan of the 'Jaws' movies so since this one was about sharks I knew I was gonna love it. At the time though I didn't know who Jacqui really was but I still remember her line, 'I don't want to die' and then she falls into the water and gets eaten by the shark. Sweet! (well obviously not for Jacqui but you get my drift.)

"Joel Gretsch as Owen Crawford" God that gave me chills! I hadn't seen Taken until after season 1 of the 4400 had aired. Talk about a brain cramp. That nice Tom Baldwin did that? Hey did anyone see Joel in Journeyman last night? Very good as always. I guess he was in an earlier episode too, but I missed it.
Great productions...Don't forget Billy Campbell in the Tales of the City trilogy, Chad Faust in Saved! and Peter Cayote in the sweetest aliens movie of all time...E.T.

LOL! I was the opposite. When I saw Joel playing the sort of nice/not so creepy guy on the 4400 I thought 'what is wrong with this picture.' And yeah, Joel definately gave me chills on "Taken".
Who could forget Billy C. in "Enough". No beard! He sure was very creepy in that movie. I actually was afraid of him! He and Jennifer sure had some great chemistry though since that movie worked.

He was a child actor (with his puffy chubby cheeks) I saw in quite a few films. I saw him in a pretty interesting Nicole Kidman film called "Birth" (2004).

I don't know how many of these are "great" but when you're a 12 year old girl they are all probably "important" in her life...

I just recently saw Sean Devine (in "The 4400", he's PJ of the Theory Room guys -- the one who took the shot and created the holographic reality in the episode "No Exit").
I saw him in a rerun of the "Eureka" episode "Right as Raynes" and I also saw him in an episode of "Mysterious Ways" called "The Greater Good" (he was Scott -- the one who was crippled and then he wasn't).
It is odd to see these actors in other roles ....

I just watched Richard Kahan (Marco) in "The Tower", an episode of "Stargate: Atlantis". He played Baldric ... I was cool to see him again ...
C'mon, everyone!
Isn't this a game of "Spot 'The 4400' actor"?
I hear they're popping up everywhere! ... I can't be the only one who thinks, "Oh, there's Marco!" (for example) when I notice one of our favourite characters appearing in a different show ...

You're not the only one: I noticed the little girl who played small (not baby) Isabelle in "Daddy's Little Girl" on a commercial for The Game Plan. I posted a thread about it but it has been buried; prob on page 2. Mattison Pettis is her name and she is a cutie-pie!

Oh my gosh that was her?! I kind of thought it was but I wasn't entirely sure. She comes out in that Disney channel show, "Corey in the House".
That kid can act that's for sure: she's so funny in Cory but with the 4400 she got to portray a serious character.

And I'll bet you thought, 'Hey, there's little Isabelle!' when you saw her, didn't you?
I think "The 4400" cast will always be part of a story that centred around a "returning ball of light" in the minds of us who adore this show, no matter what else they do.
My feeling is that this is a good thing.
Yes, Mattison Petis is a cutie pie! I reckon she'll have a lot of roles offered ...
I hear that both Jenni Baird (Meghan Doyle) and Jody Thompson (Devon - Shawn's first secretary, the one who died from the Promicin shot) are going to be co-starring in the movie "Alien Trespass".

Darn right I did think that! (lol) I drive my family & friends crazy with my oddly sharp memory for faces. I can see someone in a Windex commercial and place them in a 2 second scene from a movie 10 years ago! I’m so strange!

I haven’t seen little Mattison in anything else, but a few others around here have mentioned what a good little actress she is already. I will definitely try to check out “Alien Trespass”. That's one of the reasons this show is so brilliant!
It catalyses a shift of perspective in every stratum of society. Mainstream viewers who become fans are now open to watching "imaginative" shows.
Some might call them science fiction, I call them science possibility. My friends chuckle because I don't say sci-fi, I say sci-po.
As a scientist myself, I know that the reality of research goes far beyond the average mainstream idea of "fact". Spielberg said it best: "What most people call science fiction is simply science fact that hasn't yet been widely acknowledged."
Granted, some shows in the "sci-fi" genre are just soap opera or western/action fodder set in a "galactic" background. However, with unique jewels such as "The 4400", there is a genuine presentation of possiblities for humanity's future.
What also engenders the visceral audience response is the ever-present "gray area" that is encountered by the characters. Life is that way. We FEEL the angst within "The 4400" because that ambiguity is what we're experiencing in our own lives right now.
It's a gift from the creators/writers of the show to humanity.
Long live "The 4400""!!

I saw this sorta lame movie with very little realism in it called "High Fidelity" (you know, the kind of romantic comedy where the guy -- played by John Cusack -- can sleep with any woman, but just can't settle down and commit?), and Natasha Wagner was in it toward the end as a pop rock journalist. It was such a surprise!

Not an actor, but creator, former writer and director of The 4400, Scott Peters just directed last week's episode of "Jericho". It was really good. Lots of political commentary on the heroes being part of an insurgency against the US military and Blackwater-like Ravenwood. Gutsy stuff. Not nearly as subtle or well-written as The 4400, but still very good. I'm enjoying this show's second season.
Nice work, Scott and the writers.
