As everyone knows, not much has been said about what the original catastrophe was, and that many of you tune in each week to find out anything you can about the catastrophe. Sure, we know that the Elites built a walled city, masses of people died, and the world turned into a giant wasteland, but beyond that, nothing.
So, here's your chance to tell the world what really happened. Whether it was Sara's desire for a good cup of coffee, or PJ's megalomania, what was the REAL reason for the catastrophe? Speak up now, or forever hold your giggles....
It was Meghan, overpopulating the earth, with soda can kudzo. You see, Meghan got sick of seeing litter lying around on the side of the road, and decided to convert some of the trash into flowers. Unfortunately, she forget she had used up her monthly quotient on flowers, and the only thing she could materialize was kudzo. Well, the kudzo kept growing and growing and growing, eventually asorbing all the earth's resources.
This led to a giant world war, where most of the population died. Meghan, however, was rescued by Tom and they, as well as Marco, Maia, Diana, Shawn, Kyle, Garrity, and Kev-ess retreated behind a giant walled complex while they figured how to stop the kudzo. That's when they created the time portal technology....
....And the rest was 4400.

...........In the future, there is a Starbucks on every corner. They use up so much of our natural resources to serve their coffee, ie trees, water, coffee beans, etc that eventually our eco system falters. Thus creating a wasteland with a wall city of elites. The elites are the only ones left with a limited amount of coffee that will last them approximately 5 years. Thus a catastrophe is born....not enough coffee.

In the year 2010, the most upsetting election in US history takes place. Paris Hilton is elected President of the United States of America. She empties the US Treasury in approximately 2 months shopping and it is a mere 6 months before her partying depletes our natural resources. The 4400 were taken and reseeded into the time line in an effort to stop her and her 'fans'. Only the Intelligent People Faction can stop the DumbBlonde Faction and save the future of humanity!
(No offense to the Smart Blondes out there!

How about this: the 'good' faction just took people for observation, but between their times diseases spreaded, so they sent them back in time. the 'bad' faction anted to prevent the disease from returning to the future over time, and wanted to kill 'em!

Catastrophe: Someone went to the streets yeling "It's a catastrophe!" That caused a chain reaction ultimately causing the extinction of all herbivore animals, so the whole planet became one big dot of green plant like mass. Dead ofcourse, because no plant has enough water! the end

Haha I like yours' Phanta! Mine was similiar:
"Attention Wal-Mart Shoppers: we now have a sale on bricks, to build a great big wall! Wal-Mart Shoppers?"
Alas, the entire world was one, giant Wal-Mart. So everyone left, aka 300 people, were Wal-Mart shoppers.
Pity.

Yes the future will just be corner after corner flanked by Walgreens, Blockbuster, 7-11, Starbucks and in the middle of each square will be a WALL mart. LOL

No, no, no! You guys are seriously mistaken. The real catastrophe was....
Jordan, Tom, Diana, Shawn, and Maia were sitting around, trying to figure out what to do while they awaited word for a 5th season. Just then, a fan sent them a copy of the board game of Risk, and not having anything better to do, they decided to play. However, what they didn't know was that the game was real.
So, in their zeal, they destroyed the whole world. When the realized their mistake, they built a giant walled city, complete with a Walgreens, McDonalds, and Starbucks/Barnes and Nobles.

Hi Bubba here, ...

Nice one Phanta.
Thanks Bubba. At the Target shopping center here there is a Starbucks in the parking area and then one in the target. At the mall I work in there are 2 starbucks only 6 storefronts apart. And the 7-11s OMG I never have to worry about running out of gas there is a 7-11 or some other brand of stop and rob every 1/2 mile on my way to work. It's nuts.

It is nuts.

Why do towns allow the same store to repeat so often in such close proximity? Talk about wasting our resources. Can't we come up with some new ideas? Everywhere I go it is the same chain stores replicating like a virus. Why does our mall need 2 Macy's? Why is Lowes across the street from Home Depot? Scary.

I think sometimes it's because of laziness. Some people may not walk to macy's from dillards its too far. WAAAHH.
IN Jacksonville florida near my old house, there were 2 blockbusters right across the street from each other. I asked the one I frequented, why? At one point one of them was a competitor and blockbuster bought them. So why not just close it and then everyone goes to the one? Why pay rent for 2 spaces? And have to staff them? Highway 19 here in Florida is literly a few hundred miles long and you can't tell when you leave one town to enter another because it's strip mall after strip mall and fast food joint after fast food joint. It's crazy.

I'm reading a book called Bully of Bentonville, and Wal-Mart is just plain mean. They used to lock illegal workers in at night according to the book, and one guy actually collapsed and died while on the outside of the store, the ambulence waited for the doors to unlock. Catastrophe!

Target does the same thing. I worked for them and we had to do an overnite reset and the doors were locked..but guess what? There are emergency doors that can be used. The power went out one night. It was pitch black in there. They are locked in not to keep them in, but to keep theives out.

Hating to sound like a busy-body, but unless Target locking in its employees is what caused the Original Catastrophe, perhaps that would be best left to the Alex and Phanta Show. I wouldn't want to be accused of sucking up all the quality talent...
