Hey, Spook, you're a horse-lover? My daughter is a big horse freak, too. She just started riding about a year and a half ago, but she is a natural. I love to watch her ride, she looks so beautiful. She has ridden in a few western competitions and would love to learn dressage. She hasn't ridden since last October. I had a falling out with the people who she worked for and who were sponsoring her (LONG, ugly story!). We haven't found her a new place yet. Owning a horse is her dream. With her recent head injury, the riding will have to wait a while. She started collecting Painted Ponies. I don't even know where to find them, but my older daughter has gotten several for her. They are gorgeous, especially the American Indian ones. For her community service for graduation requirements she wants to volunteer at Happy Trails--therapy riding for disabled children.
And back on topic--c'mon out and play!
Hi ciaddict, yep I've been a horse NUT for a long time. I'm horseless for the first time in ages, (I gave my last horse away to a lady from the feed store - I rescued him on the way to an auction where he would have gone for dogg food.) I don't have time to ride or muck stalls anymore. I've ridden a dressage horse, he was SO cool and smooth! he made me look like a better rider than I was.

I owned and rode hunters and jumpers.
I rarely rode western - when I rode on trails I usually went bareback. There are a LOT of long, ugly stories in the horse world. I was gonna move to KY with a friend and take care of her horses, and we had a falling out, so that never happened.

Ebay has Painted Ponies, but they can be expensive. My last job before the ones I have now was barn manager for a therapy riding center for people with disabilities, in Fort Wayne. We had 20-25 head of school horses at our highest, and I used to run 20-24 boarders, too.
