I said it in the G/E thread, and I'll say it here. It dosen't seem like they're mad at each other. i know that I'm grabbing at straws. But you would think that if there were some type of huge amount of tension (like they weren't working together or something) it would come through in the previews...right?

It looks like the out of order shooting vs. airing is showing.

Goren's Beard-of-Depression is back... not that I'm complaining.

"Depths" was supposed to have been the Season 7 premiere epi. So I'm not surprised to see Goren in a beard or that he and Eames don't appear on edge. G/E's behavior doesn't follow "Smile" so we can't make too much out of what happens in "Depths" relative to the final G/E scene in "Smile."

yeah, well Bobby looks hot, and Eames is looking good too.

I think i will be very happy with this upcoming episode.

VDO/Goren and KE/Eames look like they do in the USA promo photos, probably because they shot "Depths" right after a long summer hiatus and were well-rested. In any case, the plot involving deep sea diving looks original, not a ripoff from a recent tabloid headline, and more of a crime story procedural which I'm looking forward to seeing.

What's bothering me about this whole out of order episode idea, is that in Amends Ross tells Bobby he still has two weeks left on leave. So does this mean that Depths takes place before Amends and Bobby again comes back to work a case while on leave? Or is it that Depths was filmed first, but was meant to take place after Amends and Smile?

I would think the writers would make sure that the episodes would follow in the order that they were intended to be seen by the audience. Just because things are shot out of order doesn't mean they are airing out of order per se. We have to keep in mind schedule conflicts with guest stars that may have altered the shooting schedule and the fact that they may do reshoots. It was pretty obvious (i think) in Amends that some of it was shot not long after Endgame was shot, but others were shot a little later (vdo seems to look slightly different in every scene...it seems in every season you can tell when something was filmed by his appearance in the epi).

As for the episode it looks really good...though i'm still a little uneasy as far as what's going on between goren and eames. I have a feeling that line may never be fully addressed. But we shall see...either way i'm looking forward to it

Whose voice is that in the beginning of the preview that says "floater in a scuba suit...". It sounds like Falacci. It is not Eames.

they have , in the past, added scenes when showing eppy's out of order as they were shot.. that very well may be the case here.. if you look at some of the episodes in seasons past you can pick up where part of the eppy VDO is a tiny bit heavier and Erbe's hair seems to get longer. at the end of *The Insider* VDO's teeth are *fixed* while in the rest of the episodes he's *el-natural*.

I'm just psyched that there's an obvious reason the Major Case Squad should be handling this one...buckets full of deep sea treasure in the form of sunken Civil War gold...I am into this idea big time

Exactly...and i kinda feel like the scene in Amends with him on the kitchen floor was part of a re-shoot because of the beard and he looks slightly slimer than he did in other parts of the ep. But it's not like i have their shooting schedule so it's all just speculation. I just can't understand why the writers/producers would allow things to air out of order, i understand them being shot out of order because there are so many variables to consider on set. Maybe it's me being from the joss whedon school of tv writing where storylines are planned years in advanced and sequence/continuity are everything. In earlier seasons it didn't matter as much, but now that they have more personal story archs it's a real dis-service to air them out of order (if that in fact is happening, which i don't think it is).

I'm sorry for getting so off topic, but i know people have said privelige and albatross were aired out of order, but privelige aired first (i think, at least according to the episode guide) which has the line about good to have you back (ross to goren). So i was wondering if i was missing something...cause i don't see how that messes with the continuity of the season???

I'm going to assume that his one was shot so much in advance because it has a lot of shots in and around the water. Who would want to get into the ocean in the early fall? They probably wanted to make sure that the weather was optimal.

I think that they had the storyline planned out way in advance, so I think that it could be possible that we ge a little bit of info on what happened in the last episode.

Amends was supposed to take place nearly immediately after Endgame, so that does not leave room for there to have been any other events prior.

We can't live an die by the order in which the episodes were shot.

Poor Chris Noth. "Lonelyville" barely gets in four pages, and "Depths" which hasn't even aired yet, already has two. I hope he doesn't visit these boards.

Agreed, like someone mentioned before, they shoot movie scenes out of order, but in the end they are all in relation to eachother.

Depths is going to follow just fine, and it's going to be an awesome episode.

They seem to be doing more "out & about" type stuff this year. I'm liking it. It's not all mostly the city or some of the suburbs. All those places start running together after a while.

I am suprised that they were able to film at a beach on a hot summer's day. At least they could control the crowds by saying it was a "crime scene".

I love that line "I hate the beach". It must be the sand. He is doing the head tilt the whole time he is talking to the FBI guy. Unless the sun was in his eyes.

I think Ross' line was in reply to the way Goren stormed out at the end of The War At Home. Where he was saying he didn't care if Ross fired him, he was LEAVING right then, no typing reports or fooling with paperwork. Case closed - out the door.

yeah...i realize that. What i don't understand is why people think albatross and privilege were aired out of the intended order as far as the continuity of the season goes...to me it's fluid comming right after the war at home. having albatross air and then privilege wouldn't have made sense to me.

Hey come on what we do with NEVER having Nichole and Goren moments? He dosen't have too many that can get under his skin and "hit the marks" She makes him look at himself and at some weird level I think she is an interesting challenge,or something, to him. Like when she did the "right thing" and dropped the little girl off at her aunts. Anyway just my opinion, I enjoy the "dance" between them.
