I know EVERYONE watches every single detail about V.P.D., but what is the deal with the quick weight gain and general appearance?
He appears quite different, quite rapidly.
No, 48 is not that old.
I've been comparing from recent pics, interviews, etc.
Assuming for a movie role?
No, he doesn't look any less handsome.
It's about his performance and ability to turn any character he portrays into an actual person that really is mezmerizing.
The man could win an Oscar given the chance.
Plus he presents himself as a very cerebral persona regardless of which role he's in.
Always something behind those eyes.
That's what makes him so damn attractive!!

It's obvious you see beyond mere appearances...but take a gander at a young Vincent Phillip Donofio--(Guy, The Newton Boys, Naked Tango, Salt on our Skin)--the man will make your heart stop, he's so sexybeautiful...Oh, and he can

Yes, I'm aware of everything you've mentioned, and of course it makes me drool, just didn't want to point out the obvious.
When I saw "Guy" for the first time I had a very hard time appreciating his comfort level with himself and the camera and just how sublime he appeared physically. I uh, had to replay it several times just to fully appreciate it.
I was trying so hard to stay away from being a pig.
But literally no other actor has made me react like this.
I feel as if I'm 15 not 35!!!
I want to know what's behind those eyes.

Oh absolutely. I love a man who is comfortable with who he is and confidence is an aphrodeziac (sp), and that usually happens when a man reaches his late 30s, early 40s. Now, at 50 (which I neither look nor feel), I find that guys my age are very sexy!

He looks as if he gained a good amt. of weight when he's normally a slim guy. Hence the reason I was wondering why he looks so much older.
BTW: I started getting into this show not too long ago. I'm watching every rerun I can and marathon.
I don't think I've left the house to do anything but watch the show. I'm trying to catch up and put things together, but it's a bit hard since I'm jumping around on different channels at different seasons.
When did or by whom was Eames pregnant?
I just know her as being a widow.
I saw one episode regarding her pregnancy. That was it.
I have no clue about Det. G's breakdown or about his Father and the situation surrounding it.
I got an idea from reading someone's poll about who his Dad may be, but obviously I'm missing major chunks.
I just want to know why they put Chris N. and Alicia on there.
They are a poor substitute for the chemistry Det. G and Det. E have.
I know they can't be the absolute same, but when I watch SVU, it seems there is more of a chemistry there between partners although most of those are new to me as well.
I never took the time to watch tv, 'til I became disabled after a car accident. Afterwards I developed Fibromyalgia and I now spend more time at home.

If you read the board all these questions have been answered. But here it is in a nut shell
1. Eames had a baby for her sister who couldn't have one.
2. Witt is taking Nicholsons place while she is on maternity leave. Logan/partner is on there, because the filming was too much for Vincent/Kate Vincent was going to leave, but they hired Noth/Partner to help with filming by splitting the show to give Vincent/Kate some relief. So Vincent decided to stay.
Now talking about older men, My husband is 7 yrs older than me. He was married before me, and we sometimes joke, he wish he met me before he married his first wife ( I didn't break up his marriage) I tell him you would have been arrested, when he married his first wife I was 13 he was 20.

For 2 movie roles actually...a film called 'Staten Island' (with Ethan Hawke and Seymour Cassell) in which he's playing a mob boss, and a film called 'The Narrows' (with Sophia Bush and Kevin Zeggers) in which he's playing the father of a college aged boy and he's also sort of a part time hood/numbers runner in his neighborhood...a real character part (the book on which 'The Narrows' is based is called 'Heart Of The Old Country'
The Reel has pictures of VDO in 'Staten Island'...his character is way more stylish looking than Tony Soprano ever was.
Same kind of weight gain took place for 'The Salton Sea' back in the early days of CI.
What I envy him is his ability to take the weight *off*...it would be nice to make 25 or so of my pounds disappear but I know how difficult it is to do that for me so I don't beat myself up about it too much.

if he quit some of the weight gain undoutably is from that.. I kinda think he still smokes.. if not.. then doing a movie in which he has to smoke is really a terrible ordeal.. quiting is hard enough.. one cig.. and you are back at it.. I can't imagine if he were really serious about not smoking .. he would do that.. it's like a recovering addict shooting up real dope for a movie.. cigs are THAT addictive.. you certainly can't smoke socially.. and I think he was at least a moderate smoker.

On VDO possibly smoking again, he may be smoking those fake herbal cigarettes that they are now using on movie and TV sets (there's stuff about them on AMC's 'Mad Men' website...it's in one of the video interviews with the show's creator Matthew Weiner...'Mad Men' is set in 1960 when lots of people smoked and one of the clients of the advertising agency featured in the show is the old Lucky Strike cigarette company).
Not that I think the herbal cigarettes are especially safe for long-term use, but they're far safer than the real deal, especially to the members of the cast and crew who don't smoke.

Well I'm guessing here but until someone reliable asks VDO whether or not what he was smoking on the movie set were real cigarettes or the fake ones we won't know for sure.
I am hopeful though that they're fakes and that he isn't sucking on real cancer sticks again...it seems logical that he'd go to great lengths to not start up again.

My uncle is just a little bit older than him and smoked for as long as i could remember. He had to quit because of health problems. He's happy now that he did because he feels a lot better, and he's requlsed by it now.

My grandmother quit only like 4 years ago when they put her in the hospital for breathing problems. She's got every health problem under the sun and yet she's still around and kicking at 87 and no I don't think the cigarettes have helped her live this long...far from it. She's sharp as a tack mentally but the poor thing has a hard time talking thanks to too many decades of smoking...also she gets every respiratory infection that makes it's way around her area.

Both my parents smoked when I was growing up. They would stop, but start again within a few months. My dad finally did quit for good. My mom stopped in 1983 and had a terrible time. She developed canker sores and would have at least 2 or 3 at any given time. She wears dentures and they would rub on them--just torture. Then about 3 months after she quit, my father died very suddenly. Between the grief over my dad and the sores in her mouth, my sisters and I just assumed she would start smoking again. But she didn't! To this day she doesn't smoke. She put up with those canker sores for years, but never started smoking. Finally a dentist told her what to do to get rid of them and now she only gets an occasional one. She's my hero!

smoking is also bad for the skin and will age you prematurely. Especially around the lips. I quit about 19 yrs ago, keep catching my hubby sneaking one every now and then. Will never get my mom to quit. My dad quit many many years ago, after his first bypass surgery. My son who use to complain all through his childhood about grandma and dad smoking, now smokes, go figure.

is this mommy the same as any of his other two kids' mommies? how many wives has he had?
in my opinion (which may not amount to much cuz i know nothing about his recent movies...i know i know...BAD VDO fan!)...he IS 48 yrs old...and while that's not really that old...i would think it's just old enough that he probably
could have trouble keeping the weight off. (hell, i'm 28 and noticing aging issues! you can't tell me that age issues (
including weight gain and not being able to lose weight easily) don't affect a 48-year-old)
he actually looks better, more trim and all, than last season. i guess i'd be surprised if he came back...this season or future seasons...looking like he did in the first 3 seasons. to me it seems he started putting on weight in season 4. i like the way he looks, then and now...he's just sexy.
