Yes, he certainly is! I think that's one of the reasons I like him. And one of the reasons I'd like to see him with Rodgers--now there is an odd couple. It would be nice to have Deakins show up once in a while--maybe to consult on a case? There would be some nice tension between him and Ross.

Last season I would gladly have taken him out back and had a little talk with him. He was confrontational last season right from the-get-go. He no real reason, initially, to be so obnoxious towards Bobby. BUT, this season is different. He seems to be sticking by his detectives more, trying to get balance between the chief of Ds and his detectives. He also doesn’t seem to be singling out Bobby. He’s pulled aside all the detectives and discussed their conduct and even suggested Eames remove herself from a case that was hitting too close to home. I like him much more this season, he seems more reasonable.

I agree whole heartedly. I like this new side of him. I like how he's being more a part of the team instead of being "above" it all. He's making suggestions and taking a stance with the higher ups. He needs to lift his chin more though. His behavior is too submissive toward the chief. If they wanted a doormat why did they hire someone who knows what he's doing?

More on Eric & the WGA strike
""It's hard to get writers to chant," ['The Daily Show with Jon Stewart' writer Scott Jacobson] observes with amusement. "We had Eric Bogosian [of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent"] in the line, and there's always a very energetic guy from the union with a bullhorn, marching up and down in the middle, trying to get us to chant.
"I mean, you're not going to see Eric Bogosian poking a sign in the air and chanting, 'Hell, no, we won't go,' or something like that. I think our chanting stamina leaves something to be desired.""

Another bump for our guy Ross. I thought he was great in Offense. It was nice to see him more actively involved with the investigation and not just getting reports from the detectives and giving them orders about where to go next. I liked the tension between Ross and Goren and between Ross and Logan. Now I like that he is working with them more and the only tension is betwee him and Falaaci. Don't want him to get lazy!

I'm liking it better too. I think he needs to be strong with her, not so much Bobby. I have to admit I've stopped calling her "fallacy" or "falsely" and call her Fallaci now. I didn't like her at first, but she's better now. She's settling down. It would be nice if she came back later for a couple of shows as long as she's not replacing anyone. I hope they spice Wheeler up some when she comes back, too.

yes, it was cute. And Ross was so cool, he immediately went with Eames. He really supports his detectives. I mean he became captain only a year ago and Goren caused him a lot of stress and he is still supportive. I like that guy and I love that behind-the-scene-story with him and Rodgers

I really liked how he stuck up for Goren there in the end, although I did not appreciate his attitude toward him in the beginning.
Perhaps Ross is seeing something in Goren tht we are not seeing. We're used to him and we've acquired the taste, but perhaps he really is unstable and Ross is just calling him on it. (lets keep in mind that deakins didn't like goren much at the beginning and treated him much the same way).
I love Ross' character. I think that he is more compatable with Logan and Wheeler, but he's starting to warm up to Goren and Eames. I think that he likes Eames, but goren scares him.
