cmulen,
I totally agree with you.
I've been watching the first season of LOCI and Deakins sometimes was not that crazy about Bobby's approach or ideas. he just seemed less strict than Danny Ross. I also think that Bobby is going through a rough patch and sometimes he has made comments to Danny that were uncalled for, like the we can all read Captain on "Brother's Keeper" or some of the behavior in The War at Home.
But I like Danny!!!
That's so true. Deakins and Bobby didn't always agree. But Deakins knew the fun, quirky Bobby. Ross has only known the angsty, unstable Bobby. So, on top of just basic personality differences between Ross and Deakins, Bobby himself is different.

I will be so happy when they get the seasons started again. I am the absolute worst at waiting and I HATE being in limbo. I can't wait for more to come down the pike. Even some of the casting calls would be interesting at this point.

Dusting the cobwebs off this thread just because I like Ross so much. Rocketman was definately one of my least favorite episodes, but I did love the "so am I, so are you" comments between Goren and Ross.
And BTW, where has Lozzie been?

It would be nice if they let EB actually come up with some of Ross's lines. He has such a wry sense of humor it would be good for the show if he did. Maybe he could use it on the phone with some mysterious caller.

I'm eager for new shows too. Come on June. Actually we'll see him sooner than that. He and Logan will be on SVU soon. They'll be doing a guest spot before CI comes back on. He's also going to be on an episode of Third Watch on April 23rd. The Self Importance of Being Carlos, the episode is called. He plays a lieutenant, I believe.

I'm gathering a collection of his works. I have Talk Radio, recorded Charlies Angels Full Throttle, will record Blonde on Lifetime friday at 12pm EST, Delores Claiborne, King of the Corner, Wonderland, and others that I can't pull up from memory right now. And I've seen Igby Goes Down. Some of them are just bit parts, some more substantial, but they all show sides of him that are interesting. My favorite is still CI. I'm hooked, I guess. He has a much more impressive acting presence now than he's ever had. So good looking.

Oohhh, I have not seen EB on the mothership. I saw the actor who plays Lupo (I can't believe I just forgot his real name) playing a lawyer in L&O. He was wearing a beard and looked a little heavier. I also saw "Carver" in the mothership. Very strange.

I saw EB this morning on Third Watch. He was playing a Lt. Lewis and he could have been and early Ross. He acted so much the same except he had a full beard. I kept thinking it was him on CI as Ross.

As much as we see of him and elements of Ross in EB's performances, how much influence do you think he had in Ross's character development? Could they have asked for his opinions on how he'd play the part? It's not like he's exactly an untried starlet.

I remember when I got the Season 1 DVDs and saw their names on there as guest stars. Then I was so disappointed that they were only in one scene and just a couple of lines.
Do we know for sure that Logan and Ross are going to be on SVU? I've heard yes, then no. Isn't SVU done for the season? Oh wait, the one with Casey leaving is the last one isn't it? Did I miss it, or is it on this week.

I bought a copy of his Wake Up and Smell the Coffee DVD. That was amazing. I see why so many people were surprised and pleased by his coming to CI. It was funny this was recorded in 2002 and one of his first lines was "This is a boat and I'm your Captain" Oh, man that was an surprise. Does he have any other ones on DVD that anyone has heard of? It also makes it easy to read his books. I didn't get the format until I saw this. "I'm your Captain." What a hoot. (Forshadows of things to come.)

Where would you take the relationship between Ross and Rodgers if you could? Would you use it to add a bit of humor to CI or leave it serious or just a friendship? I'd put some humor in the show, just some. That is seriously missing in the show. Even SVU has some humor from Munch now and again, though that's lacking there too recently. Humor helps the viewership go up as well.

I would like to just see tidbits like we have so far, and funny is always good. Maybe in season 9 or 10 (I hope, I hope!) we could hear mention of a wedding (sorry, that's the romantic in me). I don't want to see it the focus or see any dramatic breakup or anything. I would love to see shots of G/E and L/W reacting to little looks or comments (like in Depths).

That would be funny. I can just imagine some of the comments. It would be great if they did the show like ITWSH with both teams and Logan and Goren trade comments about the goings on between Ross and Rodgers. Too much Fan Fiction, I guess.

I just read an interview with EB and he said he had started to relax into the part now and I think that's coming out in the show. He was pretty rigid at first, I agree, but he's doing better now. Much more supportive of them and that's good to see. Maybe having the Chief of D's be a protagonist (sp) for them all to defend against will bring the whole squad together. At least that's my hope. I'm looking forward to more of this season. They've had time to take a deep breath and let's get this going!

I think Laura San Giacomo said it best on the movie Quigley Down Under when she looked at Tom Selleck and said "It is common for things to not go well at first." Se was playing a character called Crazy Cora. You'd have to see the movie to get it in it's true context.
