Hi,
Well I actually have to laugh at myself, about this subject.
If I'm surfing through the channels and see CI, if I seen the same episode just the night before, you know I have to still watch it.Marathons seen them every time, but still have to watch.
You know that you have trully become obsessive over CI, when you know what hes going to do (facial expressions and all) but hey if this is the worst habit us VD fans have, then there no problem.
So glad I'm not the only one here.

Pathetic = being upset that a tv program is being held back from the new season starting.
Pathetic = having more friends on this board than in RL
Pathetic = getting totally bummed when you are locked out of said Forum
Pathetic = the sad fact of being excited just because you are once again allowed to post on said board
I really need some VDO-alone time!

It's 4:04 in the morning here and I have had a long, busy day. However, I couldn't go to bed without my Bobby fix so I just finished watching "Acts of Contrition" for the umpteenth time. Love that fire scene!!! Now, I'm here on the forum. Pathetic is putting it mildly.

My daughter, who is 20 and an English major in college, constantly says I'm pathetic. Ah well. I can certainly think of worse things to be, and worse men to love than VDO. I've gotten her to watch The Break-Up (Oh, Mom...he was so awkward it was painful to watch!) and Happy Accidents (He was really cute in an odd kind of way). But she loves to watch CI with me, and Bobby has grown on her. (Mother, you've contaminated me!) I even have her admitting now that he really is "kind of cute." It's progress...

I have been trying to convert my sister-in-law into a full fledged Bobby fan. I have shown her some photos and she does think he's hot (SLURP!!! is actually what she said) but for some reason she has never watched LOCI. Months ago I loaned her my Season 1 DVD set to get her started but still no success. Now her dog has chewed up the packaging. Sigh!!! Thankfully she is going to replace it. Your powers of persuasion are obviously better than mine.

On Sunday evenings, Bravo shows 4 LOCI's back-to-back (not sure if they do that everywhere, or if that's just our cable programming). So, our usual Sunday night routine is dinner at home, followed by ironing in front of the TV (I have scorched a few things while being distracted...oops!). Last Sunday, my husband wanted to go out to our favorite Mexican place for dinner because we didn't go on our usual Friday night. I just looked at him, shocked, and said "But it's Bobby-night". Yes, he called me pathetic...and we got takeout.

I have just signed up my 20-year old daughter and I for a NYC shopping trip next Monday. $50 each. NYC is about 4-1/2 hours away from where we live. It is a bus trip. They drop us off in front of Macys around 10 am and pick us up around 7 pm, so we are home by midnight. She just wants to shop and see the Christmas sights. Little does she know we will be on the hunt (in a non-stalking way) to see if CI is being filmed that day.

THis is my first try on a message board. I've been reading the messages for a while. I've been a fan of all the L&O series since the beginning. The intellectual humor and reality just keep me coming back. CI has my real devotion though. From the first episode I fell in love with Bobby. He may be a fictional character, but when real life is just overwhelming, daydreaming is healthy.
My 16 year old son convinced me I needed an ipod, by explaineing that he could download seasons 5-7 to it. It works for us, I pay for his music downloads and he keeps me well supplied with LOCI on-the-go. For a mom who gets stuck in the doctors's offices for hours sometimes or when I need something to do during my 45 minute lunch break at work it has been a life saver. I'm sure people wonder what I'm smiling about, I don't care. I can go to a very happy place for 3/4 of an hour and make it through the rest of the day with great pictures in my head.

Just a word of advice. Ask for the 16gb. My 8gb only holds 8 episodes. My best friend got the 16 and it holds a whole season.
I have to say, I do appreciate the fact that my husband doesn't have a problem with my obsession. When my 19 year old daughter makes some comment about my being married so I shouldn't be looking, he just smiles. He isn't a big fan, but he will wait patiently for me to watch my episodes. He's away on business now, so its pretty sad--no hubby, no new episodes, just my trusty iPod.

The past few months have been very hectic for me. I sold my home of 27 years, put most of my "stuff" in storage and moved into a small apartment while searching for a new house, which I finally moved into in late November. Unfortunately the renovations weren't complete until this week. What a tangle, with a family wedding thrown into the mix. Now I'm frantically trying to get ready for Christmas. At 2:30AM this morning I was exhausted and stressed out so my sister-in-law persuaded me to give up and get some rest. She warned me to stay off the computer but then, because she knows me so well, laughed and said "Not likely you'll go to bed without saying good-night to Vincent." Yes, indeed!!! She knows me well. No matter how tired, I have to have my Vincent/Bobby fix for the day. Pathetic???

Hope all you sickies out there get to feeling better real soon. I got a flu shot, as did many others here, and heard yesterday that someone I know is sick with it, and he got a shot. Fortunately, his case isn't too bad. I told his wife that the flu shot doesn't always keep you from getting it, but should make it not so bad or so long-lasting if you do get one.
