The phrase "A Person of Interest" seems to be used a lot in the news lately (Yale tragedy, for one). Every time I hear it, I think of my favorite CI episode of the same name.

Of course I mention this to my family every time I do hear it and they just roll their eyes. Recently, my son beat me to the punch and said "Hey, itn't that the name of your favorite Criminal Intent episode?" just to be sarcastic.

LMAO gorens_veal...

My brother once asked me "who's that binder??", showing one that looked almost like Bobby's, the one he always carry around, ya know... Well, we opened the thing and saw it did look like that kind of office supply, with the rings and pockets and all. And the cover was black leather.

I said, "mmm, I think this is dad's. He must have been offered at that conference he went to, remember..."

Bro, "hmmm, oh ok..."

And then we stared at each others in silence for a couple of seconds. Then he came out with, "is he gonna do the lean in move if he starts using this?" And mocked the move saying, "he goes to the office and starts the meeting and lean in on people's papers like this..." scratching his chin.

He cracked me up! LOL... And he's not even a fan, I think he only watched season 1, go figure...

Oh that's too funny. GTSara!! Speaking of "the binder", I came home from work the other day trailing a bunch of papers, pens, a calculator, and assorted other work debris stuffed in and falling out of my small daytimer. As my hubbie walked behind me picking things up, he said "You need one of those Goren binders", and just laughed and laughed. He though it was funny...I thought it was a brilliant idea. I need a new planner anyway!

YES! Not us old members, but all of you new people that have came here to start a HUGE uproar over this crap, I'm tired of you people controlling and taking over this board, and forget about the one's who have been here longer than you were even allowed a computer! This must come to an end! I won't allow you to run off our good member's, because of your whining and carrying on! Grow up!This has gotten way out of control! Respect others on this board! If I did all this, I would be ashamed of myself!

Beloved Krod, I am feeling pathetic today and your
messages have helped me alot. Your support and
encouragement and humor have cheered me along.
I stay on this board for fun times. I have grief in
my three-dimensional life and I come here to rest.
I am tired. May I have a big, fluffy pillow of patheticness
with a big juicy picture of VDO's lips on it to thud on?
cpahl2000
I believe this board became some type of protest field, not a place to have fun and post, there are toms of CI campaigns, petitions, and all against the departure of Goren and Eames, only one could be enough but there are like 10, of the same and there is no control, mods are being attacked and canīt do their job and only a few topics we can have fun so, they will leave, letīs deal with it, itīs over, the next detectives could be good for the series, I know Goren is unique but if he wants to go, good luck and letīs again make this a good place, instead of a battle field.

I agree completely. Here it is: VDO didn't want to stay.
That's it. He could have accepted less money, or accepted
their desire to change the direction of the show, but he
wanted to move on. I'm old enough to remember the "Save
Star Trek" compaign back in the day, but that was to
prevent the entire series from being canceled. I'm not
participating in the campaign now because it's like telling
VDO himself to change his mind....
He seems to love his fans with his acting. But from what
we can tell he likes to keep his
personal life separate. And his personal life is where the
LOCI negotiations took place, not on the set. This is the last
time I plan to give my opinion on this.
If I want to argue and watch
people be putdown, I can get up from the computer and
see my three-dimensional life right here in the room....

Hey, Let the Good Times Roll!
Give me some virtual candy corn!!!
Give me a pumpkin latte!!!
Give me a candle!!!
Give me a kiss on my boo

a flock
back
to all you flu

(and I am
praying
for you all
right

I don't know exactly what the problem is but why can't we all co exist and visit the threads that we as individuals enjoy and stay out of the threads that we don't? I didn't like the NBC boards when they tried to tell us what we could and couldn't discuss that's why I left and came here.

As for being pathetic:
I know I am for many reasons when it comes to LOCI but one that amuses me no end is that every time I use a public restroom and hang my handbag on the back of the door I think of G/E in the "Enemy Within" when Eames tells Goren that no woman would put her purse on the floor in a public restroom.

Just about all of the new people who have signed up in the last two weeks have done so because of USA's decision to gut this show. They sign up to express their opinions...something that message boards are commonly used for. Just because they only signed up recently doesn't make their opinion less valuable than someone who has been here for 2 years or more.

Perhaps the people who don't want to read about the campaign to save our show could just stay off of those threads. There are plenty of other threads that have nothing to do with saving the show. There are plenty of other threads to discuss the truly important issues of LOCI...VDO's tie clips, suits, beard, best features, how hot he is, etc. And there are about 37+ pages and just a few threads having to do with this fiasco USA is foisting on us.

And BTW Krod...if you are so against the campaign, then why is it that your signature says "No LOCI without G/E"? That sounds to me like you SUPPORT the campaign...and you are declaring that support in every thread every single time you post.

I just did a little math and counted up all the threads on the main forum. Well, this is the pathetic thread, isn't it? laugh.gif

This is not counting the Fanfic, Games, and Shippers subforums...or the pinned threads. On the 38 pages of the main forum there are 1018 threads. And of those, there are 10 threads dealing with the loss of VDO, KE, and EB. 10....out of 1018. Surely those who are not interested in the campaign can find one of the 1008 other threads to read and enjoy. I don't see a problem.
Outerbankschick
Okay, y'all. Going to speak my mind. I will warn you ahead of time not to read on if you are too thin-skinned for the truth.

No one forces you to actually click your mouse on any of the protest threads...of which there are two main ones. The "Campaign to save the real LOCI" thread and the "Vincent D'Onofrio leaving..." thread. The biggest part of the discussion happens there. I started a positive thread for messages to the actors, which has gotten some very nice posts, I'm happy to say. But you do not have to read that one either.

If you do not wish to participate in the protest against USA completely gutting Criminal Intent and changing it completely, that is certainly your choice and fine with the rest of us. However, the rest of us have just as much right to speak our minds as you have to speak yours. We have just as much right to scream and yell at USA about what they are attempting to do to our show as you have to accept the changes and do nothing.

This is the real world y'all. Not everyone agrees all the time. So be it. Thicken your skin up and stay off the threads that you don't like. Go to the ones that you do. It's that simple.

The vast majority of threads on this board are NOT about this protest at all. There are plenty of other topics listed for anyone to post in if they do not wish to have anything to do with the protest.

As for me, I am going to keep yelling at TPTB and flooding them with postcards, emails, phone calls, cotton balls, fluff, or anything else to get their attention until the last paper is signed. THEN we will see what we'll see.

And if your major problem with this is that you just don't like seeing the threads on the page....oh well. Last time I checked, this is a board for ALL fans, not just ones who agree with your personal opinion.

Gonna have to agree with OBC and Ciaddict. There are plenty of threads around here where if one bothers you, you can just move on to the next one. Not everyone has the same opinion or outlook. Thats no reason to get angry or upset. This would be a very sad world indeed if everyone thought the same. Not to mention boring as hell...Everyone here should have the same rights...old and new...no one is more important then the other, everyones points are valid and should be respected....or ignored if thats your decision.

Adding my two cents to say I also agree. There are many threads here that I don't visit simply because they hold no interest for me, but I think they have every right to be here since people apparently visit and enjoy them on a daily basis. The forum is here for everyone, old and new alike, and if a thread doesn't interest you, stay clear of it. And yes, how boring would life be if we all agreed. As long we respect each other, I think people sould be free to discuss whatever is important to them.

I don't think we are pathetic or obsessed or anything else of that nature, if what we are campaigning for is the right to watch the kind of television shows that we enjoy. If making our voices heard to TPTB can make a difference then we should not be silent. We do live in a democracy, right? I thought the whole purpose was to petition against the unjust treatment of three amazing actors. However, I stated on another thread that if VDO needs to leave, wants to leave, has to leave, for whatever reason, I support that and trust him to bring the storyline to a conclusion that would satisfy his fans. None of us thought he would do this forever. But if all of the execs - and I put Dick Wolf in that category, are making it impossible for him to do the job the way HE needs to do it, then he is right to leave. If the network insulted him once too often and he was forced to decide to leave, then we need to make sure all of those people know how we feel about it. And perhaps the situation ended up being a mutual parting of the ways. If we are silent then both sides won't have a need to come back to the table and try to find a way for one final season. I think in reality thats all we really want - good gut wrenching closure so VDO can move forward and create another enticing role for us to sink out teeth into. That is what really good actors do and he is the best. One of the mistakes was spilling the beans on losing VDO after a two part season opener. Any loyal LOCI watcher knows that just won't be enough to do justice to the past eight years of exceptional stories, superb acting, and pining away for Bobby Goren. My purpose in joining this forum was to shout out to these actors that we appreciate the work they do, and will stand with them on principle. Bobby Goren is all the fluff I need and intend to let USA know that loud and clear.

This is perfectly stated. I am new here like you, but my feelings are as strong as people with 10,000 posts or whatever about the way the actors have been treated and about the resolution of the storyline. If USA saw fit to give "Monk" a seasonlong adios, same should apply to "L&O: CI," which frankly I'll bet more people watch.

Hi Nece' and SoSue' ! Welcome to the boards! Just so you don't worry, this thread is pretty old and I believe was originally started to demonstrate what devoted fans we are in silly ways. It doesn't, per se, reflect the recent revelations about season 9 or the departure of our dearest detectives. Here, we talk about things like, "You know you're pathetic when all of your computer passwords are some variation of 'Detective Robert O. Goren' ", and stuff like that. So, feel free to tell us all of your silliest fan moments here on this thread if you like. Hope that made sense, and welcome again!

You're welcome! We're glad you joined. It's great that you and others are signing in to voice your support for the show and the actors. I don't know if the powers that be at NBC/USA read the forum, but if they do, they are getting an ear...uh, eye...full, that's for sure!

If you need to decompress from all the serious stuff, though, come on over to the "Robert Goren Fan Club" thread (where we are having fun shopping with Bobby for expensive shoes, handbags and watches...talk about silly!), and a number of others. There is also some awesome fanfiction, and the "to ship or not to ship" dicsussions are always entertaining. Welcome aboard!

Oh...how's this for pathetic...

That wasn't "Enemy Within" that was from the S2 ep "Cold Comfort". ROTFL!

And yes...I do those obsessive fan things, too. Like...I use Bobby's birthday as the password for the copy machine at work. I carry my S1-3 DVD's with me everywhere I travel. I frequently think of Bobby when I am grocery shopping...like I'll be looking at cold cuts and see pastrami and think of Bobby...or I'll see a vintage Mustang convertible (not black) and think...wow, that would look so great painted black... and Bobby and I would look so great in it together!

Some of us Bobby-lovers on another board were once dubbed DroolingFanGirls. So I adopted that as one of my nicknames. Just recently we were dubbed (by this same person) "gaga Goren girls". So...I am now a DroolingFanGirl AND a full blown Gaga Goren Girl. And proud of it! smile.gif

Gaga 4 Goren 4-Eva!

Hey, if they want adolescent, I can do that, too. LMBO!

Congrats, OBX-chick! I've been using "Day-Timer's" forever, so I'm going to get one of their big zippy ones for January. I'll probably get a more girlie color, though! laugh.gif Best wishes in your new job!! smile.gif

Thanks! I can't wait to get my "Bobby Binder". LOL! It'll be black, too, because that's the color the company provides. smile.gif

One of the funnier comments I saw on one of the stories about this whole sad turn of events was something along the lines of: "Bobby Goren, I'm sorry you're leaving, but before you go, can I have your TrapperKeeper?"

Hi! I'm LadyBlueDevil...and I'm pathetic!

Next month, my hubbie has to go TDY (military business trip) to Hill AFB, UT. I'm going to have him drive 60 miles south to American Fork to have dinner at VDO's sister's restuarant. The absolutely fabulous thing is, he'll do it for me. What a guy to suffer his pathetic wife! smile.gif

How fun of your husband to go there for you! I hope it's an enjoyable dining experience. I always wonder about chain BBQ restaurants. Looking forward to his trip report. I'm not likely to get near Utah anytime soon, if ever.

Where in Europe is he going? Hope he gets to have some fun while there and not all work.

LOL! I like that. I think I'd like to distract him for a moment and then swipe it. I'm SO curious as to what he writes in that thing all the time!!

LOCI Episode 500: Inside Bobby's TrapperKeeper.

I know I'm pathetic because I think the way his
fingers are entwined is pure sex. Oh wait, I'm
not pathetic, I'm accurate!

Thank you so much for clarifying. And it's good to be among kindred spirits. I appreciate your warm welcome; too bad I waited to join until under these circumstances arose.

Same goes for me. I wish I had found this show sooner. It is hard to think it will not be there any more. Sometimes I think I am pathetic to be so absorbed in a televsion show, but then I think NO. Thanks for the welcome.

I do the same thing, HB! "It's a girl thing." laugh.gif laugh.gif Oh, and don't you hate it when there are no hooks?? I end up hanging my purse around my neck like a necklace...a little uncomfortable!

Oh I thought of this last night and was laughing to myself. I was watching "Castle"-cute, funny mindlessentertainment-I like it. Anyway at the end of the last episode the lead actress (can't remember the character's name at the moment) went into the ladies' room stall and plopped her bag on the FLOOR!!!! I couldn't believe it. Ewww laugh.gif

Those fingers ... oh my, that picture is the stuff dreams are made of. You are 100 percent on the money.

Yikes, and here I thought I had a stubble fetish about him. Now it looks like hands, too. He's got it all, doesn't he?
