I don't think that's pathetic. Winnie the Pooh is so cute. You got the game you always wanted and it's good. clean fun. Enjoy yourself!

Awww thanks!!

Now I just need to get ahold of 'The Tigger Movie'

That was one of my favorite movies when I was younger.

And for everybody out there, I am living proof Pokemon can do bad stuff to a kids brain. When I was younger I watched it, and I started misbehaving. There's living proof. lol.

I really think Zelda does less bad stuff to your brain, though has sword fighting. I never had a problem with Zelda, or mario.

Just pokemon.

Thought I'd share that.

Sorry I went off on a tangent. laugh.gif

And that game is goodly mind numbly dumb. It's pretty pointless for somebody my age, but I can sometimes get adicted to very dumb things. again laugh.gif

OK, we are not that pathetic.

A quick test of patheticness - (At one point I could answer many of these in the affirmative, so don't hate)

How many of you are LARPS? How many know what a LARP is?

How many of you belonged to the SCA? Do you know what the SCA is?

Is there a Merlin, Dumbledore, or other wizard costume in a hermetically sealed garment bag in your closet? Do you take it out for a spin on days other than Halloween?

Do you have more than four cats? Do you dress them up on a regular basis? Do you forgo outside engagements to hold a complete birthday party for your cat? (Invitations, cake and ice cream required for this one)

Have you even forsaken TV for a "quick" reread of A Midsummer Nights Dream? How about secreting yourself somewhere quiet on a holiday to read through the Bard's sonnets?

Do you have a jacket that proclaims that "History is not boring"? Do you where it on a regular basis?

Can you sing the entire SPAM song from Monty Python? Do you own the entire song book? How about the closing theme to Meaning of Life?

Did you ever give an unabridged copy of a French novel (1500 pages) to your true love?

Do you own more books than bookshelf space? Do you have every wall covered by the bookshelves that are full?

Have you ever gone to an history museum at the first moment that it opened and continued to wander until they threw you out at closing?

Have you ever written computer programs in FORTRAN, COBALT, or PLATO?

Can you speak four or more languages and never left North America?

Do you have dinner conversations about the chemical reactions in the brain that cause learning disabilities and perception issues?

Have you ever discussed the bonding agents in a jelly bean with an eleven year old? Did he have a complete understanding of the concept? Did he go get the wrapper to see what ingredient or combination of ingredients could be that agent?

Do your students need to sit with a dictionary at their seat because there is chance that you will use words that they have never encountered and might never hear again?

Are you spending your entire spring break reading adolescent literature?

These are just a few things that might be considered pathetic.

OMG, I guess I am pathetic rolleyes.gif . Oh well, I have resigned myself to a life of complete geekdom anyway.

A quick test of patheticness - (At one point I could answer many of these in the affirmative, so don't hate)

How many of you are LARPS? How many know what a LARP is?
- No, but that would be fun to join.

How many of you belonged to the SCA? Do you know what the SCA is?
- No and yes

Is there a Merlin, Dumbledore, or other wizard costume in a hermetically sealed garment bag in your closet? Do you take it out for a spin on days other than Halloween?
- No o.O

Do you have more than four cats? Do you dress them up on a regular basis? Do you forgo outside engagements to hold a complete birthday party for your cat? (Invitations, cake and ice cream required for this one) -
No, but if I had lion cubs as pets I would probably do that.

Have you even forsaken TV for a "quick" reread of A Midsummer Nights Dream? How about secreting yourself somewhere quiet on a holiday to read through the Bard's sonnets?
- I have for Julius Caeser, and maybe I will for the Merchant of Venice. (I forgot to add my two favorites, the Aeniad and the Yearling!)

Do you have a jacket that proclaims that "History is not boring"? Do you where it on a regular basis? - No, but the stacks of books I have of Roman and Greek books will give you a hint.

Can you sing the entire SPAM song from Monty Python? Do you own the entire song book? How about the closing theme to Meaning of Life? - No...but I can hum the theme song from Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Did you ever give an unabridged copy of a French novel (1500 pages) to your true love? - *shakes head*

Do you own more books than bookshelf space? Do you have every wall covered by the bookshelves that are full?
- Yes, in fact I need a new bookcase, the bookshelves are so packed the books are falling out.

Have you ever gone to an history museum at the first moment that it opened and continued to wander until they threw you out at closing? - Yes, when I went to the Pompeii and the Roman villa exhibit 2 months ago.

Have you ever written computer programs in FORTRAN, COBALT, or PLATO? - No...I've read Plato's Dialogues, does that count? Jk

Can you speak four or more languages and never left North America?
- No but I am trying to learn 4 languages.

Do you have dinner conversations about the chemical reactions in the brain that cause learning disabilities and perception issues? -
Yesss, very fun.

Have you ever discussed the bonding agents in a jelly bean with an eleven year old? Did he have a complete understanding of the concept? Did he go get the wrapper to see what ingredient or combination of ingredients could be that agent? - Sounds like a cool kid, maybe we can study Chemistry together.

Do your students need to sit with a dictionary at their seat because there is chance that you will use words that they have never encountered and might never hear again? - I love my dictionary.

Are you spending your entire spring break reading adolescent literature? - I think I'll go do that right now.

If you are, then I'm in bad shape. Every trip I take pictures of the NYPD cars. We included a trip to the NYPD museum one trip. My husband has come to believe that I have been hired as their PR person! During the winter I kept trying to convince my best friend, my NYC exploring buddy, that we should buy them cups of coffee--she said we couldn't do that. I think she was just chicken--or convinced that I would embarass her and since she works there every day she didn't want that. I like the police dogs myself. They look so smart and well behaved. I love German Shepherds.

Oh, you should definitely buy them coffee. They'd love that! The worst that could happen is they'd say no thanks (if they were worried it was spiked or something). Maybe you could bring them sealed water bottles or something like that, too. Folks do that for the security police on military bases all the time, especially at holiday time, and they always appreciate it.

I love German Shepherds, too. My husband grew up with them and they are some of the sweetest, smartest dogs around. For a while a couple of years ago, there was a police officer at Washington Dulles airport that was always in the main terminal near the shuttles to the satellite terminals. I haven't seen him in a while, but he was a tall slender fellow...looked very nice in his unifrom... rolleyes.gif and had a beautiful German Shepherd at his side. Once or twice I saw him tossing the dog pieces of ice from a soda cup to play with. I'd always say hi to the officer and tell the dog, " hi good puppy" (without getting too close) and the officer always smiled.

Such a sacrifice you made. I'm so proud of you. I'm not complaining about my little tv in my room. I have already explained to the family that this episode I need to watch in private so I can drool and wince and bite my thumb (usual response when I am going to scream really loud). A couple friends at work made me promise to call them to remind them to watch tonight. I did, but I got to thinking, would any of us need a reminder! I think not. You and your hubby have a great evening!
nananay
Lorry, I think your 32 inch investment is the best thing in the world you could have done for yourself!! I'll take 32 inches in the bedroom anytime!! We are still talking T.V.s RIGHT!!! If hubby is real good I might buy him a 32 inch for the bedroom.I am so unselfish!!
Enjoy your Bobby gazing!!

Marciesmom, It was hard, but I didn't mind sacrificing myself for the good of our marrage. 32 years now and someday he is going to catch on!! I am totally with you on wanting to watch CI by myself. There are just some things I can't do in front of my husband!! Drooling over another man is one of them. Screaming out Oh Vincent take me now is another so it is best to tuck him in and be in control of the remote.

We die-hards do not have to be reminded to watch CI, we have only been waiting for 8 long months!!Now just 15 minutes!!!

Happy Bobby gazing

Exactly. Its the stupid ear to ear grin on my face and the sitting on the edge of the bed with my face next to the tv screen. Just 10 minutes and our long wait will be over. Oh, I am so psyched I can't stand it. I pulled a back muscle two days ago and I'm in agony--sure could use a backrub--those sweet fingers would do wonders. Its getting bad. I just want to see that adorable face. Just 8 more minutes
Lorry
I'm propped up on pillows, as near as I can be to the TV, with popcorn and soda at the ready. I feel your back pain-I've had back surgeries. And no buyers regret over the TV, Not with Vince and Kate to entertain me all day!! Lorry

I'll be watching both episodes again when I get home from work today fdl. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Heck, I was upset with my son because LOCI Family Values was on USA yesterday morning at 10AM - he watched something else and I told him he made me miss LOCI - to which he turned on the dvr and played Family Values for me (I had it recorded!). Oh my gosh, I do that all the time (watching it on live tv when I already have it recorded, or on dvd). I never thought of it as "showing support" so much as pathetic obsession. What is it about it being "ON TV" (ads, pop-ups and all)????

Showing support = pathetic obsession tongue.gif At least in my book. I'm so addicted to Vincent and his acting that I've watched The Cell for 4 nights straight on Starz. There's no such thing as too much of a good thing when it comes to Vincent D'Onofrio

I am pathetic.

For many reasons right now. . .

#1 I made my 4 siblings that I'm writing about into 'Sims' On my 'Sims' game. And they would not talk to each other, so I locked Mark and Abbi in a room together. And I took control of the other 'Sims' who were at work. And. .. Mark and Abbi kinda. . . *gulps* That's crazy isn't it? I swear I didn't make them do it #1 I wasn't controling them. and #2 I wasn't controling those two 'Sims' on my game. That's totally pathetic. (And a little crazy, but I didn't purposely do it. Hehe)

#2 My head was screaming Bobby and Alex shipping last night and yet I ended up dreaming about Bobby 'doing it' with somebody else. O.o It was weird.

#3 I've had this phone for only 2 monthes and it's already busted. I busted the charging part. It won't charge anymore. O.o
