I thought there hadda be others like me who see the UST between Olivia and Elliot, but "not so much" between Goren and Eames.

I don't wanna see Goren or Eames partnered (in the NYPD way :-) with anyone else, I just don't see them hoppin' in the sack. I do think they have a close friendship, the type that only two people that face danger, etc., together, could prolly have.

Goren is so closed-off with his personal issues, (his mom's illness and death and his daddy questions), that it would prolly be hard to get really close to him.

Valley, it was in another topic but MarionTheGeek wanted to come aboard the USS RelationShip. So we have 8 people now? And a gunner? Cool And three volunteers for the librarian which is good because I guess our library is HUGE.

The good thing is that the USS NoRomo will never find us, they are too blind to see the obvious, how are they supposed to navigate?

and BTW I know a lot of people whose lives have been far worse than Bobby's and they are in working relationships, and they both had trouble in their past but I think they are both really strong characters... I find Eames even more closed up than Bobby. She hides behind her sarcasm.

I actually agree that i find Eames more closed up than Goren. I see Goren as the type of person who's probably really good at the first part of the relationship, but when it gets more complicated/serious he tends to retreat. Where as i think Eames has avoided them since her husband's death (i could see a fling here or there, but i think she would feel guilty about it afterwards).

Well since i've chimed in i might as well pick a ship...and i'm gonna have to go with the shippers...I'd like to go with Swiss, because i do see how things could be interperted in different ways, but at the end of the day i'll never want to ship them with other people. Sorry.

I'll be ship's secretary if that's needed...

Yeah I noticed last night a few shows are already in repeats.

Since the subject of Benson and Stabler came up earlier, I'm going to ask a question. I know I should go over to the SVU board to ask it, but I'm kinda scared of the shippers over there. In all this desire for O/E to ship--what are their plans for his WIFE? I know in the episode tonight they are probably hoping she dies (seems rather ghoulish to me, but what to I know?). But what about the last 8 years? Did they want Elliot to dump his wife and kids for Olivia? Because if that happened, then he would no longer by Elliot Stabler, hunky super SVU cop. He would just be another jerk who dumped his wife and kids for a pretty face. And Olivia would no longer be the sensitive intense Benson we know and love. She would just be another witch who broke up a marriage. And if all that were to happen...well, I would be outta there! I can see that kind of stuff on Grey's Anatomy (which I actually liked and used to watch until this season--now I'm just bored with it).

A lot of them either want Kathy to croak tonight, or they feel she gave up her "rights" to Elliot when she left him and took the kids in season 7 or 8. Cuz Elliot's kids are his life.

I don't know how it'll play out, but Mariska said that something happens in "Paternity" tonight that "cements" the O/E friendship. (I don't remember all the exact words she used, but the word "cemented" was used, I think.)

I like a close friendship between G/E, but I don't see anything more. And I don't want to see anything more.

They probably just wanted them to have a roll in the hay, But it was Stablers wife who left him, until the pregnacy, so it wouldn't make him the bad guy. It wouldn"t be his or her( olivia). But Olivia was kind of a friend to Kathy, so I couldn't see her sleeping with Elliot. If it happened, the only way, would be, if it was a horrible case, that hit them both emotionaly, now this would have been when Elliot was separated, they both drinking and one thing led to another, but in the morning they realized it was a mistake. Like what almost happened with Danni.(was that her name?)

Still kinda OT, what was WITH Stabler and Dani Beck? I thought he was gonna "take" her right beside their vehicle that one ep, before their phones/pagers rang.

As a divorced (more than once, actually) woman, I keep believing that there are actually some happy marriages out there. I just don't see too many on TV, especially L&O. That was one of the things I always liked about SVU--Stabler's wife and kids. I didn't see too regularly while they were separated (in fact, didn't they actually get divorced?), but I kept hoping they would get back together. I was so happy when he called her and said he wanted to come home. The Danni thing bothered me, but, like you said, he was separated (although, I could start my rant that separated is NOT the same thing as divorced--but I'll let it go). Plus, I just have this thing about partners being romantically involved--I REALLY don't like it. Which brings me back to Goren and Eames. I am a dedicated non-shipper because I think it would mess up their partnership. I would like to see them with other people (well, not really see them, just get hints about them), but NEVER with each other.

My favorite manga is Battle Angel Alita (Gunnm - Gun Dream), & I also can do a mean Halaa bombing run in WoW.

Why do you think a relationship would destroy a working partnership? I have worked for a big company and we had many couples there. I think I've read somewhere that work is the place where many people find their lovers simply because you spend at least half of your day with them (awake). At least you have a clue about them. If you meet someone at a bar you'll have to go through all that dating stuff where everyone shows their nicest face... a colleague you might have known for years before you realize that he/she is really lovely.

And even after some of the relationships at my work broke up, people were always very professional about it. And I think Bobby and Alex would be able to leave personal stuff at home and be just co-workers at work. My partner and I had some classes at university together but in some we wouldn't even sit together but each of us with their own friends. Work is work and home is home.

Some said that it would make either of them more vulnerable. I think a police partner is always someone special and you'd defend him as vehemently as you'd defend him if he were your lover.

And I've always found the whole "I don't want to destroy our friendship"-thing a bit phony. UST can get really annoying and frustrating and THAT could destroy a friendship. My opinion If the fantastic thing happens that you fall in love and the other falls in love, too, go for it!

Oh - and I think I've said that before, usually it's not the relationship between two characters that destroys a show but bad writing. That is the main reason I'm a bit hesitant about wanting them to get together on screen (and I'd feel really sorry for the NoRomos. No, really!!!).


I can so see that! 8 grim looking Shippers on deck, aiming at the NoRomo who suddenly reveals a huge picture of Bobby and Alex touching and all 8 shippers start to jump up and down, shaking each other excitedly: "did you see? did you see? They touched!" and the NoRomos just shake their heads in wonder.

I dunno who those comments are directed toward, but as a friendshipper/USS NoRomo first mate, I'll address them.

On SVU there's a clip where the shrink is telling Cragen that O/E can't work effectively together because they're "too close". Maybe that's where that idea comes from. If they would place each other over the public, they're "too close" to work together as cops.

OT, I dated a supervisor when I was at the USPS (we were both carriers when we met). When we broke up, it was anything BUT professional, and it was largely my fault that was so.

I'm on board the USS NoRomo because the USS Friendship said it was ok if the friendship developed into more, and, frankly, I just don't get that vibe from G/E. I DO from O/E, so it's not like I'm blind to it.



It would be like the Titanic all over again. We'll rescue you after you tip your ship over.

All but. I have to review those tonight. I've been catching up everywhere else so I can focus on that after I get home from work. I figured that there's probably enough suggestions in there that to add another one, we'd have to add another number.

I think for people like Goren and Eames the only way they would meet people is through work, because they don't seem to do much else. And yes it would be a juggling act to keep the personal and professional seperate and functional, but i don't think it is impossible. It really is a case by case basis.

I think Blindspot proved that whether they are in a romantic relationship or not, both would be distressed if anything happened to the other. I think the issue with Elliot and Oliva from SVU also proves this, since i personally don't see any sexual tension between them, but yet their closeness as partners and being dependent on each other did get in the way of their ability to function objectively. The sexual element is irrelevant to their feelings getting in the way if they other is in danger. These two teams have been partners for a long time (longer than some relationships) so it's only natural for them to worry about the other and for that friendship (or more or less if you want) to at times get in the way of their judgment.

oh great, now someone is trying to make the touching doesn't = sex into a rule.

I give it to the end of hte day. I'm glad that we can turn the shippiness over here into a game. It works because most of us are in our 20s and up. I hope that something happens on SVU that shuts one of the two sides up. I'll all for seeing an e/o boink if it will end all of the controversy.

I want to get some friendshippy type stuff up, but that's really hard to get in a way that can't be misinterpreted.

Like I think that that scene in albatross was frindshippy, but it can totally come off the oposite way.

It's also easy to get the mad stuff.

Our Shippers and NoRomos get along well together. Yer right - we don't have a whole lot of teeny-boppers, that helps. (Nothing against our younger CI-ers, maybe they're more mature than some of the young SVU-ers. :-)

The friendshippy scenes can get taken any way the beholder wants to take them. I don't mind them at all, I like them - I just don't read as much into them as some others might.
