If you haven't heard by now, USA Network announced a couple of days ago they ordered 10 more episodes for "The Starter Wife." They considered making a sequel miniseries but decided based on it's ratings success and Emmy recognition to go ahead with a regular series. Debra Messing will be back to reprise her Molly Kagan character and is serving as an executive producer. The NY Daily News quoted a USA VP saying they're only now starting to talk to the rest of the original cast for their availability, but realize most have gone on to other shows (Joe Mantegna now on "Criminal Minds," Peter Jacobson on "House," Miranda Otto on upcoming "Cashmere Mafia") but have indicated they'd like to come back to the show somehow. And Judy Davis who is currently filming another miniseries "Diamonds" with Sir Derek Jacobi is a big question mark (asking her to commit to a regular series is like asking Meryl Streep to do regular TV)..... read the story at

That's interesting news. I hope it works out well for them getting the original team back together in some way. This was a great miniseries.

Due to the writer's strike it may not get on the air by summer - mentions it near the bottom of the article.

Glad USA has ordered a second season of the Starter wife, it is well done and deserves to be a regular series.

I'd love to see this show back again, but Debra Messing can't carry the show by herself unfortunately. For me, all of the characters played off of each other so well. We'd need them back in some capacity. Maybe I just don't like change! smile.gif

It is about time...I loved this show over the summer and I still talk about it...I like Debra Messing in everything because she is natural with her acting and never over done...I will be sitting on pins and needles until it comes out...Of course I don't look forward to to the over playing of the commercials, but I won't complain...
