Great news for JD!!! this is fantastic!!! guess he's going to be busy this hiatus!

3 join Jolie for 'Changeling'

Jeffrey Donovan
, Colm Feore and John Malkovich have joined Angelina Jolie in "Changeling," a true life drama that Clint Eastwood is directing for Universal and Imagine.

The story follows a woman (Jolie) whose son goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles. The police return the wrong child and the woman is thrown into an insane asylum for disagreeing with the LAPD. When it seems that her real son has been murdered by a child serial killer and the child returned admits to fraud, she takes her case to the city council and takes down the mayor, the police chief and several corrupt officers, concurrently sparking changes in the insanity legislation.

Donovan will play a police captain, Feore the chief of police and Malkovich a reverend.

Also joining the cast are Jason Butler Harner ("John Adams"), who portrays a mechanic accused of murdering the woman's son, as well as Amy Ryan and Michael Kelly.

Donovan
is the star of USA Networks' "Burn Notice," the Matt Nix-created show that became a hit this summer. He is repped by Paradigm.

Feore, repped by Endeavor, will be seen as a series regular on the upcoming season of Fox's "24," in which he plays first husband opposite Tony winner Cherry Jones as the president.

Malkovich will next be seen starring in Robert Zemeckis' "Beowulf" and stars in "The Great Buck Howard." He is repped by Endeavor and Finch & Partners.

Harner is repped by Gersh and ATA Management.

Thanks for the heads up Natasha! I was watching Coogan's Bluff the other day and was thinking about a Donovan/Eastwood connection since I had commented before that JD reminded me of Eastwood when he was playing the Marine in the season finale. In any case, Changeling is slated for November 2008 release so unfortunately, that's not going to fill our BN hiatus void. But it sounds good. Of course, Eastwood...MUST BE Oscar worthy! And then there's Angelina Jolie. Barring all her personal problems and tabloid headlines, I think she's a good actor. But I bet every one of the male cast members' significant others will be keeping close tabs during this filming! lol

That's great news. We all know he will be a fantastic addition to the movie. Can't wait to see it when it comes out. But unfortunatley that means that now he can't fly under the radar anymore. Guess now maybe Jeffrey will be up for an Oscar?????

Are you sure that's the name of the movie. IMDB has a different cast and plot for a movie of the same title, The Changeling, scheduled for release in 2008.

Now I found it. Hopefully they will change the name because there are actually 3 movies with this name.

It must be a very small role for JD since he has to be in Miami by mid-Jan to start filming of BN.

I don't know if it will be a small role -- I hope not! *fingers crossed* I'm just so damn excited for him. CLINT EASTWOOD is directing JD!!! I'd say JD is lucky, but I think Clint is the lucky one!

I'm sure the film will be wrapped long before mid-Jan. Clint is notoriously famous for having speedy shoots -- Mystic River was only a 39-day shoot, Million Dollar Baby was 37-days and Flags of our Fathers was done in 5 weeks. That man works fast!!! I bet they're done by the end of Nov/early Dec.

Yay! Jeffrey! Eastwoods does have an eye for talent. I hope JD's police captain isn't someone incompetent or foolish that puts Jodie in the insane asylum.

That's fantastic news! Good for him! I've been a JD fan since TE. It'll be interesting to see what he brings to this film. That man sure knows how to breathe life into a character!! biggrin.gif

I don't see why he wouldn't continue to be "under the radar". I mean, does anyone know much about Colm Feore?

Well, I'm excited for JD to have the opportunity to work with Eastwood. I've been a fan of his since I was little. And I'm betting it will be a small role for JD since they've already started filming when JD's casting was announced and there's already tabloid shots of Jolie on set.

I found some pics off the set of the movie. All of them are of Angelina. 1920's kidnapping. The Police chief is in one but NO JD. Filming in San Dumas, California for the past month or around the California area.

You mean San Dimas, CA. Here's the link.

I think this film will be released next year, so they are probably going to be done filming by January.

Angelina Jolie film scenes on the set of the upcoming police corruption drama The Changeling on Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif. This is the second week of filming for the Clint Eastwood-directed film. Angie also filmed at the Santa Fe Train Depot today (Oct.23).

Is is just me, or does that look like Jeffrey Donovan in these photos with Angelina????

Wow, hadn't seen those photos. AWESOME. Yeah, there's the "SMILE" too. Wish I were a fly roaming around that set. smile.gif Jeffrey doesn't look like a 1920's cop, moreso a gangster. Angie sure looks different with that hairstyle. Great Photos. thanks!!!

New photos from the set:
Angelina Jolie and costar Jeffrey Donovan film scenes for their upcoming movie The Changeling at the historic Santa Fe Train Depot in San Bernadino, Calif.

"The scene does involve an old railroad station, but not the one in San Bernardino. It's to replicate another Southern California station," said Mike Fortunato, property manager for the depot.

This was the last day of shooting at the depot.

If you've ever been to San Bernardino you'd know WHY they didn't film there.

This doesn't appear to be a film I would normally go see. I'm NOT an Angelina fan. I find her to be irritating and have never enjoyed her movies. Also, the period is not my favorite. I hope JD gets great PR though.

Depending on his "ROLE" in the film. I never really watched Angie films either. Did see Mr./Mrs.Smith though. Mainly for Brad Pitt. But if it runs along the way of Gone, Baby Gone. Then I may have just watched the clips of Jeffrey. No more need to exploit kidnapping at any era.
FruityNut
I don't follow Angelina Jolie's career and well, who can really avoid the tabloid news of her, but I have to admit that I've like a few of her films. I do think she does have talent if given the right vehicle.

As for promoting JD, I think only he can do that by choosing the right roles to highlight his own talents. Hopefully, with the popularity of BN, more meaty roles will be offered to him. Here's to hoping that this is a meaty role!
tgirl
Thank you NatashaFatale. Love all the new JD photos!

Since new episodes of Burn Notice are almost a year away and Expecting/Hindsight (mentioned by JD in his buddytv interview) seems to be lost somewhere in post-production limbo, it's good to see something new from JD. We can't see the movie for a while, but photos are better than nothing!
NatashaFatale
gah! that gorgeous smile!

i couldn't resist sharing this great pic of JD on the set from last week. There are a few more shots of the same scenes at JFX online and more of the same at Celebsaroundtown if anyone is interested.

Donovan is really taking that recycling stuff (PSA) to heart. I see part of a dachshund, legs of a hound, white spot of a bull terrier, etc. in that one. Somebody's momma got out of the fence!

Okay, so now we know there's another beautiful female in JD's life! It looks like true love to me.

And damn the snooping paparazzi, because now the ugly truth is out -- JD is a big softie/sweetheart!!

Sorry JD, you just can't hide the truth!

(Thanks again Natasha, and I apologize for my boo boo above.)

My dog actually had his hair growing out from a puppy cut he had for the summer. His normal coat is more like a Chow.

I have a 3 year old Vizsla named Morgan and he is my "first born"...great dogs (really all dogs are great!). So sensitive with human like expressions it's scarey sometimes. I'd love to upload a picture of Morgan, who is named after none othere than Captain Morgan and he's the exact same color of my favorite rum. However I'm right there with LuLuNY, with the unmastered art of uploading pictures and linking them...will try again soon. The rest of the brainiacs can laugh at both of us.
