Hey guys, it's time for an event that is 15 years in the making:
Now, 15 years ago was a history making moment.
In August of 1992, Ron Simmons became the 1st African-American in the History of Professional Wrestling to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and on that same month, The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith won the WWE I-C Heavyweight Title from Bret Hart.
and then, 2 months later, Bret Hart wins the top prize in the WWE, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Here's what happend:
Bret Hart challenged Ric Flair for the WWE Heavyweight Championship at a non-televised live event in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Encouraged by the Canadian crowd, Hart looked unstoppable. The “Excellence of Execution” was running on all cylinders and wrestled a flawless match. He eventually connected on a Superplex and followed it up with the Sharpshooter. Flair put up a valiant effort, but he had to succumb to the punishing submission move.
