Great show tonight and welcome to Alicia. She fits right in. Her alpha-like demeanor and sly wit (pun slightly intended) was a smooth addition to the cast. Another wonderfully creepy episode.
Thanks to the cast and crew for being consistant at not being too consistant.

I don't like her...YET. She looks Hot. But that voice of hers is annoying. But I guess L&O was missing it's "fire crotch". laugh.gif
Bubba_Bridges
Hi Bubba here, I like her. She's sassy. wink.gif
krodgers
I'm not sure of her yet. She seems hot-headed and a bit cocky. blink.gif

I've liked alicia witt for awhile and i'm enjoying her on this. I like the fact that she's brash and has a bit of an attitude. Yes, she's over confident and Rogers may kill her before her time is up, but i like new tension she brings. Personally i think she's the first partner logan has had with a lot of personality...i like wheeler okay, but she seems so by the book and a bit of a teachers pet. With Falacci around i think Goren and Logan will no longer be Ross's problem children which should make it interesting. I'm looking forward to see what they do with her six episode arch and how her stint is going to affect logan.
Jryan
I think she needs to tone it down a notch and Wheeler would need to bring it up a notch, then we would have the right balance.

Is it me, or is she a female Goren? It's hard to say so soon, but she's right in there, sniffing, looking, having theories.

I loved her expressions- - the sassy remarks, the rolling of the eyes....

I really like her.

Besides the "fire crotch" comment, my other fav line came from Ross "Just because you think it, doesn't mean you have to say it out loud.".....Me thinks he's found someone else to lean in on?

Again, Michael O'Keefe! He was on Criminal Minds this week as well- - he's starting to play more and more demented characters...THink I'll term this trend "THe D'Onofrio Effect" smile.gif

I know this is the wrong thread, but Micheal O'Keefe has been on LOCI and SVU alot! Wasn't he married to Bonnie Raitt? I loved him on Rosanne!

Yes, he and Bonnie were married for a long time, but they've been divorced for a while now too. And I did love him on Roseann. He's been around a very long time. I always thought he was a cutie myself.

I like the fact that Alicia's character not only gets the sly jokes of her partner, but enjoys them.
There will be problems, no doubt. That's part of the fun. She's brash with that "I'm-always-right" thing built in. I look forward to how that costs her in the future.

Yes he is, but he's been on CI alot longer than Witt! As I said before, Bobby is the one I love to watch!

I like Falaaci (did I spell that right?) A LOT! I love Wheeler--mostly because she does not look like a cop, more like a teenager. I'll be glad to have her back. But I can tell I will miss Falaaci when she goes. I love how much she annoys Rodgers and Ross ("She's not a people person"--hilarious!). I think she and Logan are going to be fun to watch. And now that Ross seems have made peace with Logan and Goren, he needs someone else to disapprove of.

It could cause her to leave.

I would love to see Goren react to her.
jcsavestheday
Maybe Falacci is older than she looks.

i really like her "dont mess with me" attitude and im sure its going to get her into some trouble. but i think she will be fun to watch. but there is also something about her that really annoys me. i think it could be those tight shirts she wears. but im just going to wait for other epis to see what happens

I think that Witt and Noth look exceptionally good together on screen. I don't know what it is. Perhaps it's because it's two nice looking people standing together.

The Logan/Wheeler combo looked good, but very paternal (there's nothing wrong with that). I didn't think the Logan Barek combo looked as good as the other two.

I think and always have, Dick Wolf has a thing for red-heads. Nothing wrong with having red hair!

I think Alicia was awesome! Logan needs a partner like that! I think Chris Noth and Alicia Witt just clicked together (as partners). I wish Logan & Falacci would stay partners. It really makes the Logan episodes much better to watch... (I LOVE GOREN and Eames.)

I'm sorry LOCIfan! I'd prefer Goren and Eames anyday than Logan and his partner.
VDOVault
Two things I loved

1) Ross's warning that Det Falacci is not a people person...very amusing (especially because women are conditioned to be 'nice')

2) Logan's quip about being the 'diplomat' in one of his partnerships...for once

A bonus is something a friend who is a coroner once emailed me from one of his coroner's lists...those guys get really ticked that CSI has conditioned the whole world (including people who know better) to get DNA results in under an hour...that dressing down that Ross and Rodgers gave Falacci about her unrealistic expectations for fast DNA test results I hope was an injoke for the coroners who watch the show

I DO prefer Goren & Eames! But I still watch Logan episodes... I just meant that Seeds was a good Logan episode compared to the other Logan episodes...

Goren and Eames ARE Criminal Intent!
biggrin.gif
Without Goren and Eames, there would be no Law & Order: Criminal Intent, it would just be like watching an episode of the original Law & Order... A good episode, but not hyperventilating, squealy, awesome! (Yes, I hyperventilate & squeal in some scenes in the Goren/Eames episodes; they are sooooo exciting!) So I am glad there are Logan episodes so that I can have my "Goren fix"!!! laugh.gif

Falacci, based on the USA character bio, has 3 kids at home (no husband mentioned) and been bounced around departments for past behaviors, in spite of being a great detective. This helps explain some of why she is the way she is. Seems very likely that she'll get in serious trouble soon enough.
Volatile eccentrics make for great storylines.

I was skeptical about seeing Alicia on the show; being my only memories of her were her teenage parts in Cybil and the "urband Legend" movies but she pulled it off nicely. All I kept thinking was what it would be like for her to partner with Goren. Her inpatience verses Gorens need for thourough analysis.

Here in Australia, we're yet to get the new season with Alicia, but I'm glad people are responding well so far. Normally, it takes a while for me to warm to new characters.

People hated Dani Beck because she replaced Olivia...there was no real reason and did they ever bash not just the character but the actor...the admin had to close at least one thread because of the problem..it was way out of hand...

Okay will someone please explain to me why 'fans' crucify the actors who replace other actors for taking time off to have or raise babies or for that matter deal with family issues?

Are they jealous that in their own lives it's hard to do this (the business world in general is not all that family friendly and if you brought in a replacement to do your job, you might find yourself without one when you are ready to return to work) and it's kind of a class thing (i.e. typically these lead actors have the means and clout to do so but a lot of fans would have a hard time financially or professionally or what have you taking time off for one's family)?

Do actors stop being people because their characters show up in our homes via our TV sets (or on the screens of the neighborhood multiplex) and by entertaining us at least once, they therefore lose the right to have lives outside of the characters they play?

Also while there is such a thing as tough but valid and fair criticism of an actor's performance, a script, or a show or a movie artistically or creatively speaking, how come people heap abuse on the replacement actors personally? Is it because they're 'different' and a 'break from the routine' and Americans aren't raised to be all that tolerant of differences (although that sure doesn't fit with what I learned as a kid, but then I admit to an out of the mainstream childhood...military kids are raised with a zero tolerance for showing intolerance of others just because they're 'different' and this has been the case since the Second World War when the military was racially integrated) or are conditioned to get easily upset when their routines are disrupted (would life as we know it stop being worth living if we couldn't get a new CI or SVU episode every week)?

Does that bashing impulse come from some kind of misguided loyal worship of a favorite character (and by extension the actor playing the character) which says that to prove their loyalty they must savage the characters (and by extension the actors) who are meant to be temporary replacements (or for that matter the character's antagonist(s))? Are most fans really that simple minded and flawed in their logical thinking and should the actors and the other production people be disturbed by them (or worse make fun of them for their 'typical fan' thinking)?

Is it misplaced criticism of the writers of a show who when suddenly confronted with the dilemma of creating a whole new character that has to somehow relate to an existing storytelling universe, fall short in making a character with broad appeal? (I sort of feel like this happened to Detectives Bishop and Barek on CI because I didn't feel like I knew enough about them to know who they were, but I don't feel this way about Falacci or Wheeler).

Also what ever happened to changing the channel (or walking out of the movie theater) when you're watching something you don't enjoy? It is after all just a TV show (or a movie).

I have to tell you I admire Julianna and Kathyn for the little time they are taking off for maternity leave, I am sure if they had wrote in Wheeler being pregnant she would have stayed on just like kate did. Even though Bishop was in some episodes Kate was there for most of them too, in the background, Out of the 7 Bishop episodes, Kate only missed 3 episode, Pravda-Kate was in this one, Stray-kate was in this one, A Murder among us-Kate was in this one, Sound Bodies-Kate was in this one, Happy Family, FPS, Mad Hops. And At the time there wasn't two teams, I am sure she could have affored to take more time off, I think people just grow accustom to people in rolls and the person will always be judged and compaired to that person.

Take XFiles -David Duchovny was Mulder, To me Mulder was the XFiles, when he left, I quit watching. No body could replace Mulder. He was the Heart and Soul of the Xfiles.

The same with Goren and CI I watch the Logan episodes, but if they try to replace him I would stop watching, Goren is the heart and soul of CI.

Grant you Wheeler has just been on for one season, but some of us have grown attached, and like I said before some don't like all the changes. But you must realise, Witt is only here temp. and doing the best she can with the time she has. Wheeler will be back. But them again, some people don't like her either.

Alicia is an award winning actress whose character on "CI" is meant to be irritating to some degree.
It's leading to something outrageous, tragic or both. You can just feel it building up.
As for Dani on "SVU"...I like her. She's faulty wiring smothered in best intentions.

I liked the Dani Beck character okay but I wasn't wild about the idea of her and Stabler possibly having an affair. But if you're going to have 2 regulars on a L&O show having an affair the logical show for that is SVU (since everything they do is so emotion driven).

I'm not that wild about the Stabler character though...Chris Meloni is a good actor but I just don't dig Stabler (he makes Logan look like Miss Manners by comparison)

I agree about both Dani (I liked her a lot) and about Stabler. You are right, Chris Meloni is a good actor (and so hot!). But all that dark brooding angst just gets annoying! But I keep watching--I guess it isn't annoying enough to drive me away. But have you noticed how much they LOVE to have Stabler take his shirt off? Well, OK, I love it too.

I'm waiting for the tension to build between Falacci and Ross. I can totally see him taking her to school on a few things. I can also see Logan getting up in his grill for it. And then we get another:

Ross: You have a tendency to overreact.
Logan: (yells) I'm not overreacting.

I think that's one of the best lines ever. That will probably go into my siggy sometime.
