Just curious, what make of cell phone do you prefer, and what make do you have. smile.gif

I have Nokia (6020), and I like my cell phone. The battery is good and keep very long smile.gif That's the big plus.

Well. Nothing actually. But for example what does have "What song is stuck in your head right now?" topic with MONK? It's poll - if you don't want to, you don't have to vote. Just curious, just for fun. cool.gif

Hi Bubba here, I don't have a cell phone.

Mine is made by Sprint. It's kind of basic, no photo capability.

For these threads which have nothing to do with Monk you should put OT (for "off topic") in the thread title. That way the uninterested can just skip over it. My first thought was that this thread was about the type of cell phones the Monk characters use.

I have a Sprint Sanyo phone. It's got lots of bells and whistles I haven't figured out and never use.

So what kind of cell phone does Stottlemeyer use?

Ok, sorry. That was my fault. I hope it won't never happen again smile.gif

I don't know how some people can live without cell phone. When I don't have my cell phone with me I feel just kinda uncomfortable, like some "part" of me is missing. I needed cell phone because, when my grandmother would (and unfortunately she did sad.gif ) die my mum could call to me and not wait when I come back from school or school trip. But he wasn't neccesery that sad day.... Now I'm thinking to collect some money and buy a new phone...but about new phone I can start thinking after 8 months biggrin.gif I first need to payment my old phone Nokia 3100...

Mine's a SonyEricsson it's a picture video and mp3 one but i'm thinking of getting the orange<<make of a phone>> walkman it has so much more memory for songs and stuff!!
I hate it at first with a new phone cause i'm not used to it, but i clicked straight away with my one i have now!! You can change the front covers too, which is good, i've currently got a pink front and back cover. I use mine a lot to text my mates and stuff, but i use it for the music as well.

I noticed Vodafone wasn't on there.
maybe you could put it on or something, just a suggestion cause it's popular in most places.

I don't have a cell phone. I think I'm doing good to get on the computer for email and this message board. I can understand how great they are to have but they seem really complicated to me.

I have a Motorola RazR - it's okay, but the battery runs down really quickly.

I just got a Nokia N75, still trying to figure out how everything works. It has a bunch of cool features, most of which I will probably never use, but I have set it up so that the Jeff Beal Main Monk Theme (or part of it) is my ringtone, the inside display wallpaper is the autographed photo of Tony that you can see in my sig, and the outside display is my little Edvard Munch/Adrian Monk 'Scream' icon. biggrin.gif I felt it was appropriate because there always seems to be fingerprints on the display.

My last phone was a Nokia 6210, and it was okay, but I wasn't crazy about it.

My husband is still waiting for his Samsung Synch (I think) to arrive, but he will probably use a lot more of the features than I will. He had a 6210 before, too. My daughter has just gotten her new LG CE110, and she likes it so far. Her last one was also an LG, but she jumped in a pool with it in her pocket a couple of months after she got it and it died.

Spinner, I rarely actually use my cell phone, and I am always leaving home without it, I forget. We don't have a landline anymore, though because just using the cellphones seemed more practical. I was resistant to getting a cell phone for a long time, till we topped a hill where a big truck had lost a brake shoe, which punched a hole in our oil pan and left us stranded in the middle of nowhere. My husband could hardly wait to say, "You see?! *This* is why we need a cell phone!" I forgave him, it's so rare that he gets to be right that it went to his head.

Teresa, I think that most, maybe all of the cell phones for the main characters on Monk are Motorola, it seems that I have seen that 'M' that is their tradmark on most, if not all of the phones since the first season, but in most cases, I couldn't tell you what the model of the phones are, they seem to mostly be the lower profile models and until Buried Treasure, it seemed to me that Stottelmeyer, Randy and Natalie all had pretty much the same model, or close enough you couldn't tell the difference at a glance. In Buried Treasure, though, Randy had what looked to me like a red Motorola RazR.
PinkieMONKER
This is my phone.

Liv, i also have the Jeff Beal Monk theme.

The Motorola Razor and Pebl (i think thats how they spell it you know the way they named it, cause i can spell pebble Lol!!) is good too, my friend has the razor in pink, she is a pink fanatic so it kind of figures to me!! I like them but i like the slide up phones, i might be getting the Samsung D900 for christmas my dad said, but only if i don't buy the SonyEricsson walkman phone, which i might not cause it doesn't have bluetooth so i couldn't send or receive anything from my mates or anyone, like songs, cause usually it's too long a file to send or recieve in a normal message, cause my dad tried to send me Grace Kelly by Mika and it didn't work.

Anyway i'll stop rambling on Lol!!

This is OT for even this OT thread, but I meant to say a while ago and forgot to, that I love the little anime Monk gang banner in your sig. Did you draw that or do you know who did draw it?
monkchik693
Pinkie! Your phone is adorable!! I know, I'm a freak, I think phones are adorable, next I'm gonna think washcloths are adorable. lol. My phone's a SOnyEriccson too, but it's not a flip or camera phone.

Yep, I did draw it! And wow, knowing your talent, hearing you say that means a lot to me. happy.gif Thank you!

Have you clicked on it by chance? I have it set up to go to a (much) larger version when you do if you want to see it. smile.gif

I did, after I asked if you drew it. I just never came back here to mention it like I meant to. It's really good, even better in the larger image.

I can't draw caricatures. I mean I can pretty closely copy a caricature that someone else has done, but I can't look at a photo of someone and draw them in caricature or anime style. I tried it back in Jr. High as an assignment and then last year when my daughter wanted me to try it and I guess my brain doesn't work like that. I wish that I could do that, but it seems to me that it takes a little bit more talent to be able to draw someone to look just like themselves while still not quite like themselves as in an animated movie or a comic strip than it does to draw them exactly as you see them. I like your style, with the large foreheads and eyes and the sort of triangular heads, it reminds me of the way the characters in The Boondocks are drawn, but I also noticed that you were able to stay in keeping with the larger upper face and smaller lower face, and still managed to get Tony's chin just right. Traylor's is smaller and round (most women do have smaller lower faces in general, but not all have a round chin like her's) and I imagine if I tried to draw someone like this, I would be more likely to try to draw everyone's chin/jawline like Traylor's and I would struggle with Tony's because his chin isn't round and has a little bit of a cleft in it, but you did it perfectly.

I checked your gallery and I didn't see anymore Monk fan art there (though I did like your other work), have you done any other Monk fanart? It seems surprising to me how little Monk fan art there is considering how long the show has been on the air. Ariana does quite a bit of fan art in multiple mediums and I draw quite a bit but only realistic stuff and South Park characters in the SP Create a Character, and there are a few other drawings here and there, but not a whole lot.

Liv-

Sounds like I have the opposite problem... I can't draw realistically worth a darn! biggrin.gif (Well, I sorta could years ago, but I'm waaaay out of practice...) I can do decently if I try to copy someone else's, but not from scratch. wink.gif Just how my strange brain works I guess... heavily influenced by all the anime I've watched and manga I've read over the years or something...

Funny you should mention drawing chins all the same... Prior to this piece, I pretty much would always draw everyone's chins, eyes, etc., exactly the same... but as I was doing little sketches prior to this piece to get a feel for drawing the characters, I discovered it really didn't feel right until I started trying to differentiate a little... Of course I still never believe I do that great a job at this kind of stuff, so I'm glad to hear you think it worked well. smile.gif

As for my gallery - thanks! But no, I haven't done any more Monk fan art yet... (Well, I have my cruddy sketches I mentioned, but I'm not sure they're good enough to post anywhere...) I've actually only been watching Monk since the middle of the summer (YAY Netflix! And how did I not hear about Monk before then?!)... I do plan to do more work though, just haven't gotten to it yet with college and such. rolleyes.gif

I have a Panasonic flip phone (don't know the model number). It has an mp3 ringtone of "It's a Jungle Out There" which I put on there myself, a camera and a Sonic the Hedgehog game built in.
