Wondering if anyone would be interested in a "Burn Notice" role playing game.

I don't have a main plot, but I was thinking about setting before Season 2 because we don't really know what's going to happen.

I would like to be Fi, but any other characters are up for grabs. You can even make an OC (original character) as long as they fit into the plot.

Anyone interested? Any ideas?

Characters Taken:
Fiona
Michael
Nate

Characters needed:
Sam

Potential other characters:
A bad guy
A man/woman with a job for Michael
A person/enemy from Michael's past
Lucy
Veronica
Nate
Mrs. Westen
(All depending on the story of the RPG)

Hi Bubba here, I don't know much about RPGs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game

A role-playing game (RPG; often roleplaying game) is a game in which the participants assume the roles of fictional characters and collaboratively create or follow stories. Participants determine the actions of their characters based on their characterization, and the actions succeed or fail according to a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, players can improvise freely; their choices shape the direction and outcome of the games.

A role-playing game rarely has winners or losers. That makes role-playing games fundamentally different from board games, card games, sports and most other types of games. Role-playing games are typically more collaborative and social than competitive. A typical role-playing game unifies its participants into a single team, known as a "party", that plays as a group. Like serials or novel sequences, these episodic games are often played in weekly sessions over a period of months or even years, although some gamers prefer playing one session games.

Role-playing games are a form of interactive and collaborative storytelling. Like novels or films, role-playing games appeal because they engage the imagination. Interactivity is the crucial difference between role-playing games and traditional fiction. Whereas a viewer of a television show is a passive observer, a player at a role-playing game makes choices that affect the story. Such role-playing games extend an older tradition of storytelling games where a small party of friends collaborate to create a story.

I hope that helps. smile.gif
Basically, it's a game where you write as the character you are. If you want some examples of how to do an RPG, i'll be willing.

Well, if I weren't already swamped with a dozen characters on Lost, Heroes, Supernatural and Firefly RPGs, I would so join up.
vestokes
I've never played RPGs though I understand the concept. We've already started a thread about what we'd like to happen in Season 2. Why not start with one of those stories and have people just pick up what should happen next from there. You can let anyone who wants to be a character add their actions/dialogue; since I'm sure there will be many wanting to be the same character,

Darn! I wish you could have joined.

If people interested in playing want to us the plot, then I'm all for it. What are some ideas you have?

Not exactly sure what you mean, so correct me if I'm wrong.
But you can't have two people playing one character. That defeats the purpose of an RPG, and turns it into a fan fiction. We can have as many characters as the plot needs/wants, but only one person plays said character.
NCTibby
But we could always try a fanfic chain, like vestokes was talking about. I often think I'm not smart enough to write a show like BN, what with all the insider spy info, but it'd be fun to give it a try and have the benefit of everyone else's input.
Galactic
That's fine with me.

But if anyone still wants to do an RPG, let me know. I'll be more than happy to do both
vestokes
If we can find some others. I'll be Michael. I'm willing to do anything to get through the 9 months until season 2. Also, this will be fun.

I love roleplaying. I can be Nate.

Awesome! Anyone have any plot ideas? I know there was a lot of discussion about Fiona's family. Or we could do a story where Nate's gambling problem gets out of hand
NCTibby
If you're in need of a home for your RPG, I recommend MFC's Forum. I'm on the Heroes, Firefly, and Supernatural RPGs over there. And Admin Heidi keeps things running smooth. Here's the link to request a new RPG:

Oo, cool!
I'm thinking we'll just keep the RPG on this board, so it's easier for everyone

If anyone still wants to give this ago, ill have more time on my hands now.

Hi. Its good to hear you're recovering. I'm still interested in this roleplay.
vestokes
Hey tvqueen. Glad you are doing better. I'm not consistently available to take on a rpg. I will probably lurk then jump in when I get a chance.

Anyone heard from TVQueen, I sent her a message and hope she is doing ok.

Are we still game (no pun intended) for this? I'm ready to play.

I haven't noticed any activity on the board from her. I hope she's ok too.

And I'm still on for this roleplay.

Am interested, too, but not sure how much time I'll have after school starts again in January. Maybe a very minor role?

tvqueen, hope you're doing okay in your recovery! biggrin.gif

I understand, not only am I new to this sort of thing, I also have time issues. Although, I'd love to lurk and read whats going on. If an opportunity presents itself to be a minor character I may jump in if no one minds?

I also hope tvqueen is doing ok, hopefully she's just busy with RPG's on another board.
