Oh my God, I just have to get this out there.

Okay. Did everyone see Trade? I hope so... Ack, fine. I'll put it in a spoiler.

Spoiler:
This is the second suicide Olivia has seen in about a month. But did you notice that she wasn't upset with this one? I have a theory... IT'S BECAUSE ELLIOT WAS THERE!

I doubt it. I think it has more to do with her not being that close to the person(s) commiting suicide. With the first suicide, Lauren Cooper and Olivia got too close. They almost seemed like partners and Olivia could relate to her. I think she would have reacted the same way whether Elliot was there with her or not. But...any moment with Olivia and Elliot is a good one. wink.gif

QUOTE(ScarlettVonUttenburg @ May 6 2008, 10:14 PM) Elliot was super hot during that moment too. He ever so subtly put his hand in front of her and made sure that he introduced her first. It was so like EO mind reading. HOT HOT HOT! Mmmm-where's my husband when I need him. Damn that Christopher Meloni and his hotness!

I'm stealing Scar's quote from the eppy thread, because I noticed it too, and now I want to re-live that moment over and over again in the EO thread with all you shippy people. wink.gif

Did anyone else notice that moment? I LOVED that he put his hand in front of her and introduced her first. He. is. Yummy.

Way to be like Munch, Mary, and blow up all my floats. wink.gif Yeah, I know Olivia got a teeny bit too close to Cooper, but then again, they didn't really have too strong of a 'relationship'. They were working together, and Olivia saw a desperate, younger woman who may have seemed a little unstable. (Evidently, a LOT unstable.) Yes, Cooper was a cop (or was she a Fed? I wasn't sure.), but still. A suicide is a suicide, and it's gut-wrenching for anyone involved.

Sorry but you were making a comparison with one suicide to another then saying Olivia handled it better because Elliot was beside her. I sometimes think too realisticly. I wouldn't say it was an E/O moment if I can come up with more realistic reasons behind an action.

So are you saying if Elliot would have been with Olivia when Lauren commited suicide then she would have been more acceptant of Lauren shooting herself in the head???

I'm wondering (from the preview for Cold) what Olivia's telling Elliot to make right? It could be about the case? But it could be something personal as well....

well there better be EO moments in this finale the writers cheated us on trade so the season just HAS to end with tension building between them part of that really has a big influence on the ratings and viewers, or thats atleast what i think

I agree. It was a great look, but he wouldn't kiss her while he's married. This is exactly why the writers need to write him single, asap. What were they thinking with that whole baby drama anyway? Obviously a sweeps ploy. But now look what they've done! They can't keep giving us these awesome moments while Elliot is still married! It stinks!

I agree. With Cooper, she was able to relate with her because of their lack of familial ties, which drove them both to invest everything they have on their careers. Naturally, Cooper's suicide struck her on a more personal level than yesterday's case. In "Trade," Olivia only knew the woman as the defendant's counsel and friend, just like any other they've met over the years.

But yeah, any shared experience between Elliot and Olivia is good.

Well a pregnant fiance was found dead in her burning apartment and after a while, the dad and son get called out, after test its discovered that the father was the ladys finance's dad and her finance was going to be a big brother, so Casey sends the dude to court, and the fathers attorney rigs a juror by giving her money. Casey loses and is discovered that the attorney killed the finance. She then attempts suicide before jumping off with the son.

Mariska Hargitay interview

She talks about the complexity of emotions between Olivia and Elliot after she comes back from Oregon.

The cutest part though is at the beginning when she says that when Olivia left for Oregon "emotions were really high" and they were "forced into a situation to look at what they meant to each other..." and then she interrupts herself and says "Look at me, I'm getting chills." Lol, Mariska is definitely an EO shipper. biggrin.gif

I love that interview. It's brilliant. She obviously realises the way the writers showed the complex EO relationship. It's only a matter of time before something happens. Their relationship is too volatile to remain static. Something has to give. It has to...otherwise, all the past episodes have been for absolutely nothing. Why put a scene with Olivia moaning Elliot's name? Would it have changed the storyline? Why have Elliot and Olivia BOTH go through a situation in the SAME episode where they had to choose the job or the other? Would the episode have been less effective minus these scenes? The point of the episode was to highlight their closeness. What was the point of the entire separation of EO? The second time was because she was pregnant, but the first time wasn't. If there wasn't anything to SHOW, then they would've had Olivia leave once. Why have her leave the first time?

There are so many scenes that point to EO that would seem absolutely redundant if they don't end up together.
SL3UTH
Oh! Oh! She mentions the other partner, the complex feelings... and jealousy! Now we know for sure, if we weren't assured of Elliot's 'duplicity' before. Not that I'm defending Dani, but I can understand how things got too murky and complicated to make them think straight. Thanks, mrslee. That interview cheered me up. smile.gif

I just watched the episode "Fat" last night, and although I wasn't expecting it to be much, since Elliot had a new (and very unlikeable partner), I was just blown away with the scene where Elliot is changing his shirt and Olivia just "appears". The chemistry between these two has never been more prevalent in my mind, especially seeing Olivia just look at Elliot for long seconds, and finally admitting that the whole situation was "complicated". I watched the scene several times, trying to figure out all the emotions involved. That scene (as well as the few others Olivia appear in) are definitely diamonds in the rough, and I think speak volumes for unadmitted feelings.

They're both leaving in the same episode?! Are you serious? Oh my gawd. I have a feeling someone's gonna get shot! You heard that from me first. I posted it in another thread. But I want to make it clear that if it happens I have some type of crazy-someone-is-gonna-get-shot-on-SVU-psychic- ability. Good luck to them with fitting that into one eppy. I don't think they are kicking Diane Neal off the show. She chose to leave because she wanted to persue other aspects of acting. As far as Adam Beach leaving, his contract was only for a year and it has been expired. They probubly didn't wish to resign him because he wasn't able to capture the audiance like Neal Baer and Dick Wolf had hoped. Anywho...I trully hope that with this being both their last episode, the writers don't make it a crappy one. Not to mention we have another three month wait for the new and possibly last season for Law and Order: SVU.
