And Olivia looked down as if to say, "Look, I don't want to talk about it. [Maybe because she KNOWS that he's married and she has to live her own life, but that it hurts to think about that, and that even though she KNOWS Elliot's taken, she can't help what she feels or think about what could have been when comparing to other boyfriends.]"

OH and Mary, I too was a bit annoyed at the Kathy baby line drops in Closeted, but at the same time I found them to be interesting. Was he dropping them because he's still having problems at home or because he wants Olivia to know that he's not on the market? They were all pretty negative. I still think that those lines could be in favor of EO. All of them were insinuating that he was bored and tired of home or scared that if he didn't get home he would get his arse chewed out. Honestly, besides him bringing up that he wanted to avoid home, he hasn't really changed much. He still seems to be at work way more than he is at home. And if home is where the heart it. I don't see his heart fully with kathy. Maybe that's just me and a few choice people, but HECk- if they can make "undercover" work- they can make EO work. Cause I'm sorry- as thrilling and as fun as "Undercover" was- the reality of it all was pretty forced.

Second of all, I thought the same thing about him mentioning Kathy in the last two eps. Three times in two episodes he has been: working late with Liv while having dinner, out consoling Liv with a drink, and trying to be there for her after she made it out of Sealview. This is part of what broke Kathy and El up in the first place. He was at work so much and not communicating with Kathy. Maybe these are a few scattered incidents and mean nothing. OTOH, maybe they do.

It just depends on what the writers have in mind for this info they've fed us. We do know from the CM interview that he's trying to make things work at home. Whether he succeeds or not is still up in the air.

Keep it the way it is. Not only would that have been too much for me to handle, but I think Olivia would have had to quit her job or go on a long hiatus. As much as I want Elliot to run to Olivia and save her from a big scary fire breathing monster topped with an earth shaking kiss----I think that kind of traumatic experience can actually push people further away, rather than pull them together. Olivia already has trust issues with men, let's not make that worse.


I personally think the way they wrote that scene could have been executed in a better way. No offense to the actors. Mariska was brilliant. But I think the writers missed the boat on Olivia's character. The cop side of Olivia was completely gone. She didn't even try to talk her way out of it. I wanted her to question him and at least attempt to manipulate him. I wanted to see her use her amazing interrogation tricks on him or get into his head, and she did none of that. If they would have added some of that kind of dialogue into that scene, her moment of defeat would have been BRILLIANT television! But unfortunately, it was just okay. IMO. Just say'n
