For those of you who are still awake, I have a question: Did this scene in "Fault" happen, or was it my imagination? Hisgirl over at the you know what thread claims it never did. I posted this over there arguing that Olivia holds a place in Elliot's life even as just a partner and a friend.

In "Fault," he told Huang that "she made me do it." Huang asked him how she's able to make him do anything, he then said that she didn't and that was all his choice, therefore the consequences were his responsibility. The statement from him that "she made me do it" says enough about his attachment to her.

My imagination can be a bit overactive, but not enough that I would make up a scene and refer to it as an actual scene on the show. So, can anyone help? Please?

Huang: Come in. (Elliot is there, ill at ease. He comes in.) I heard about yesterday at the bus terminal. It's terrible. I'm really sorry. You know in situations like this...
Elliot(interrupting): Please don't tell me there was nothing I could have done. Thanks.
Huang: I was going to say in situations like that there's no good choice. Every choice becomes a sacrifice.
Elliot: Not true.
Huang: You had to choose between saving the little boy or saving Olivia.
Elliot: Yeah, but she didn't need me.
Huang: You didn't know that.
Elliot: I wish I didn't ...
Dr. George Huang: Didn't what? Didn't ... care so much? Elliot, that's what makes you a good partner.
Elliot: She made me turn away.
Huang: How? How does she make you do anything?
Elliot (thinks for a moment): She did. It was my choice. Nobody else was responsible for it. Thanks. (He leaves Huang's office)
Huang: Elliot. (He calls after him but he is already gone.)

I never said the scene didn't happen. I said Elliot didn't talk about what he felt in the conversation with Huang.

I think that was the first time Elliot ever mentioned he cared for Olivia out loud. I mean sure, we know he does because it's hard not to after working with someone 12 hours a day for 7 years. It's just...that was the first time I ever remember him vocalizing it. I could be wrong though...

I like to think that any time he's there at her side is a physical vocalisation of how much he cares. But that's just me! LOL! But I totally agree sweety, Fault is the shiz. LOL!

No, I'm really pissed. I'm in school and done with my work so i'll just type it again. Ok so Like i'm sure you already know, I had a bad headache yesterday from my sinuses so I had alot of pressure behind my eyes. Well I really felt the need to go to church yesterday, so I was going to tough it out and just take and aleve. My church has it's own youth center so I was going to take the shuttle bus up there from the big church since it was like a 30 minutes before church started. Well I missed it and I forget the aleve. I didn't mind though because I like going to regular church to so I was going to go sit in the overflow room. (a room with lot's of chairs and a tv where you can watch the preacher w/o having to be in the santuary because it's bright lights hurt my eyes). It was closed

So since they had something else in there so I had no where to go. In the bathroom there is this like sitting area where people sit sometimes when they get sick because there is a speaker in there so you can hear the pastor speaking. So I sat in there and the head usher came in and ask was everything okay. I told her what happened and she said okay and left. 45 minutes later two girls that came in there for whatever reason sat down opened their bibles and began to take notes. Well about 15 minutes after that the head usher came back ask was I still okay and left. Well at this point another usher came in heard the WHOLE conversation gave us a dirty look and left (I know in church right). Well 3 minutes later this usher that HATES ME (and no i'm not being paranoid she really is always trying to get me in trouble and my auntie even told me) came in with a nasty attitude and told us to get out. well I asked the lady where she wanted us to go and she said wherever they have a seat for you in the santuary just get out. So my headache was in full blast at that point and seeing as who I got a pair of keys to my mama's car ;-}, I was going to sit out there for the last 15-20 minutes. well the lady saw me walk out and called one of her male usher buddies and they followed me out. So I took off trying to get to my mama's car. With all my luck I couldn't remember where it was and my church parking lot is HUGE.

So I was going to just try and find it when the lady sent one of the police up there after me. So i'm trying to get to the car before the police come but he caught me . So he was real cool ask me what happened and then walked me back up to the church. when I told him what happened he was like if your sick why did the lady kick you out the bathroom.I was like i don't know so he rolled his eyes at the ladies ignorance and was like were going to find somewhere for me since he didn't want me to be outside despite my military grade mase my older brother got me (and that junk is STRONG a little poof will burn your eyes 20 feet away my other brother made sure he tested it on me. But I got him back) So when we walk back in he asked the male usher buddy to get me a seat and he made this stupid oke on how the cop should take care of me because I was a trouble maker. so when the cop told the man of how the usher kicked me out and I was sick she rushed up and kinda gave me this side hug talking about how worried she was about me being outside by myself (lot's of people where out there) and blah blah blah anyways she made me sit in the santuary for the last 5 minutes of service ?????

So I dropped it seeing as how petty it was and I was sick. So at the end of service when I go to give my mama her grandma brag book with all my nephew pics in it, she says how the lady pulled her out of service to tell her how disrepectful I was to her. Yeah rigght. So I was pissed and sick and when we got out to the car my mama yelled at me about how wrong I was to ask the lady where I was supposed to be when she said get out. Alot of B.S right. I get home and my daddy did the same thing. So with this horrible headache my night sucked. No take this to heart, yes I have disrepected an adult Maybe once or twice because she said I flicked her off and wrote me up, and lied to my mama to her face and I had all these witnesses and I told her If I wanted to say f**k you I would have said f**k you. But that's not the point lol. Anyways I never sin at church, like I may slip up sometimes. But never at church because I feel that is the ultimate disrespect, and i'm cool with alot of the ministers and if they heard about that(and they always do) I would have got more trouble with them then with my mom. I 'm not mad about it really anymore, because all I had to say about the situation was "hold on tight boo, because when karma hits. It hits hard. I've had lot's of run-ins with that one lady, and my auntie even said the lady doesn't like me because not know that was my auntie she told her. Big Mistake, but i'm not going to get into that. But yup that's why my night sucked.

I'm sorry, DSR! I had a big-headed usherette experience a few years ago at a church while visiting friends in Virginia. I was breastfeeding my baby in a rocking chair in the church nursery when the twisted sister came in, stared at me for a moment, and then told me that I should "do that sort of thing" in the bathroom. I asked her, "Do you eat in the bathroom?" She said "no", to which I replied, "Well, neither does my baby." She told on me to the pastor, who just happened to be married to my brother-in-law. She gave her a long lecture on breastfeeding and the beauty of a woman's body and how nursing in public should be accepted in the US, etc. It was SWEET!

DSR, why don't you write a letter or email to the pastor and let him/her know what is happening. What if the usher had acted that way to a visitor or someone who was in a personal crisis who had come to the church for some hope? This is a good opportunity for you to "Speak Truth to Power".

Hey guys! I'm sorry it took me a day to respond here - so much going on at home with remodeling/redecorating. ;-) I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for first, the wonderful welcome and second for all the props for Ropes! You'll laugh, but that story was started as a 2-3 parter I was just going to write to clear my head from Construction, and it just took off thanks to everyone's reviews and feedback! I seriously cannot believe the love I get for that, and I'm SO grateful. It's actually fun to write, but I think because I want people to feel like every chapter deserves the time they've invested in reading thus far, I get paranoid and it takes me forever to get a chapter up.

That being said, I actually did write more than half of the next chapter already, so I am going to do my best to get that up as soon as I am done with my half of the next Proximity chapter. I don't want anyone to have to wait two months this time, LOL!

And 39 days huh?? God, time is creeping.....I'm so anxious!

It makes me feel so much better to know I wasn't "overreacting" as, my mother said. But last time an incident like that did happen, I wrote a letter and so did my friend, but I don't think the people handled the situation. Like my pastor is really cool and he doesn't tolerate things like that, but he has so much work to do he always get's his right hand man in charge to handle it and I guess he just brushed it off. Idk. But yes they act that way towards visitors too. My sister came down here and stayed with us for a few months. At the time she was pregnant and the santuary was so hot she felt faint so I took her and there, got some wet papertowels and tried to cool her off, when a different lady usher came in and told us to leave. Then they wonder why alot of people left the church???? Hmmmm

Excelent! I hope the remodeling goes well. My dad remodels his house...ALL THE TIME! He's nuts but he can afford it so...let him right? LOL! 'Ropes' has to be my all time favorite SVU fiction because I can tell you have put a lot of work into it trying to make every detail meaningful, every word, phrase, and action interwoven together so that it all fits and makes sense. It's so good that I am willing to wait two months for an update. LOL!

She actually called the 'church police' on you? LOL! I go to a big church as well, It's called Shadow Mountain, but I have never seen anyone who cared where the heck people are sitting as long as they are getting the message. Why should she really care if you were sitting in the bathroom? Dang...she must have been bored. I'm sorry you got in trouble.

Thanks for the clarification. I admit I completely misunderstood what you wrote. I started wracking my brain trying to remember if the scene did, in fact, happen, even though I was pretty sure it did. I try to argue with as much facts as I can recall so I'm debating with solid evidence and not some speculation run amuck.

I think that people are pulling the plug way too early. It took one episode for Elliot to become single (effectively anyway. Separated...whatever). All you need is one episode for Kathy to say "look, I love you, but I'm not in love with you anymore. Nothing's changed Elliot, you still work long hours, you still don't talk to me. Maybe it'll be easier for me and the kids if we're not together anymore". See? Not even five minutes. I would understand their marriage ending for those reasons, and people can see that not all separations/divorces are messy things.

I'm just saying that one episode can change everything, and we've got 22 next season and another 5/6 this season. We'll just have to wait and see.

So I'm watching Ripped, when Elliot is at the shrinks house talking about why his wife left. And he gives all these things like "I did everything, had a good job, never cheated on my wife" and then he says "I lost my kids, my children" something like that. Anyway, I love how he doesn't say "I lost my wife". He says "I lost my children" instead. Hmmm...is this why Elliot when home...children? I think so.

About the 'FATHER' story ---> It's absolutely number one! I like the chapter when Fin and Munch were sarcastic to each other at the club lol. I kind of enjoyed the joke Olivia made to Elliot about her coffee. Impressive! Lastly, the way you foresaw the part when the wife was trapped in a corner, almost like a mouse that could find no place to hide. Your skills have knocked down the SVU writers to shame. Good job! Now, you have encouraged me to go back here for some more!

This has always been exactly my point. Elliot has never really said anything about losing Kathy. It's always been about access to his kids and missing them. There was a little bit of a hint in Contagious, but I think that it was the realisation that she'd really left him. And at the end of the eppy he was happy when he saw his kids. Nothing will and has changed between Elliot and Kathy. He's still working SVU, still not communicating and still....like he was the past seasons. Something's going to break. Something HAS to break, otherwise it'll be unrealistic. Cause in real life (that the show prides itself on reflecting as well as possible) this marriage would so be over.

not only i watched this episode twice, but thrice... i had to keep my ears closer to the TV to make sure i heard it right. elliot did say that he never cheated on his wife. he also added: 'I LOST MY KIDS, MY CHILDREN', that's it. he never mentioned 'I LOST MY WIFE'. nor the 'I MISS MY WIFE' thing. just his kids. he said kids TWO times. he really does love his children so much, he wouldn't never hurt them or criticize their mistakes, just like their grandfather did to their daddy elliot... or elliot's cop friend for beating the hell out of his son. i really felt bad for elliot... i wonder how olivia would react if elliot told her all these pain he had been carrying? darn... when she went into elliot's place, i thought that would be it, lol
even though olivia was already a bit pissed off at elliot, she kept herself mum about her best friend/partner's mistake, except pamela's parents who made a move on telling the Captain of what elliot stated about the suspect.

Exactly lol. I hate when I hear people say that Kathy didn't hurt Elliot and he had what was coming to him. Come on people. He was devistated. Duh, he won't open up to Olivia. He opens up to her about the job, and well..kinda used to talk to Kathy about his feelings, but we never saw that. He won't open up to Olivia because she has soo much emotional baggage already. May I remind you her past, and I wouldn't want to put my emotion on her if she was my partner.
