Actually they just ran that ad last week when I was watching the marathon. I have it on my DVR. Yet, even if it was withdrawn by you implying that it was withdrawn to get rid of the EO fandum, just made you point out that there is more proof of an EO love theory.

There were valid points for fans seeing and wanting an EO relationship. I will admit that recently our side has been fizzled, but that's not because we were wrong about it. It's because the writers went in a different direction. And I personally think it was the wrong direction. You don't and that's fine, but we'll see how the ratings will continue to drop if they keep up this unentertaining/non-chemistry crap. EO shippers do not need El and Olivia to have sex to be satisfied. But we do need chemistry and tension. And unfortunately for you half of the viewers love the idea of EO. This show is going to bomb soon if it doesn't bring back those two things.

Seriously, this is excatly why I rarely pos t on TV.com's SVU forums. They attack me just because I ship Delivia. I got like eight different PM's about it. I agree that the general lighthearted banter between Benson and Stabler, as well as with the rest of the squad is what made the show fun to watch despite the dark subject matter. Also, moving Elliot back home after a drawn out separation of about two years, plus his strained partnership with Olivia didn't exactly help. I think the last few seasons haven't been as good partly because they shifted the focus from the whole squad to just Benson and Stabler. Not that I don't enjoy watching them, 'cause I do. It's just that the dynamic changed when they began putting the spotlight just on those two.

Overall, it's probably due to the loss of comic relief from earlier seasons that lightened up the show dealing with the dark side of human nature.

So I've totally gone mental. I spent the last like 4 hours making up this rap and this crazy you tube video. I was in the mood to be stupid. ANyway, it's for all those EO shippers that had a bad week. I don't think we've had an EO web party in a long while, so this is for all yinz guys who are disgruntled and needing some EO silliness.

USA doesn't change their ads that often. This isn't a case where they ran ad #1, then changed to ad#2 and now they are on ad #3. The current "Working at SVU" w/o flirting has been running or at least 6 months and is still being used as the primary ad for SVU on USA along with the marathon ads and NBC's ads for new SVU episodes. Since USA Network is a separate company, I doubt they work under NBC or Wolf Films to create their own ads.

I did saw I saw it twice since USA went back to using the original. There was one time it was shown during the fourteen hours of the last marathon I watched. Of course they ran at least three ads for SVU per hour, and the flirting ad ran only once.

Because the ad is clearly pointing out, in a jesting way, that Elliot and Olivia flirt.

The show is acknowledging the attraction and ambiguous undertones that these characters have for each other. I'm not saying they have or would jump in the sake. I'm merely pointing out that the show has always left that door open for discussion. Until recently... GOD I hate saying that. Neal Bear better get on the stick and give us an ambiguous relationship again.

That and you answered the post by stating that they withdrew the commercial for a reason. Which insinuated that they are getting ride of the EO. But I'm pretty sure they aren't that daft.

I get what you're saying, but it is nice to debate the issue every now and again. So telling non-shippers to stay clear of the thread altogether is A; inclusive and B: can get dull.

But I will agree that if the non-shippers get all pushy and cranky and negative about it I'm gonna get a little peeved and outy myself. If you can't remember the episode- go find it and watch it. It's the perfect example of hidden EO flirting. The desk scene, makes my heart want to fly out. Olivia is twirling her fingers and Elliot has his arms entwined around her and her arms. AH- it's sooo freak'n good.

Also- check this video out. It's the best Eo youtube video I've seen in a long while. I laughed hystarically at the beginning because Oasis was one of those songs that was popular when I got my drivers liscense and it was the first song that I jammed to while driving. But it's funny and then - and then I was crying. Watch it. It's brilliant!

I rarely come on the thread. But I wanted to see if there was more from Mary as why she was leaving than is seen elsewhere. I read that she was upset over the thread I started to have a place to discuss our differences of opinion over E/O. I was concerned and confused about why she was going.
While I was here I saw a post about the flirting version of the SVU ad and why TPTB created it. I thought it worth noting that the ad is not generally run anymore. It seemed unfair to complain about TPTB doing something when they have stopped doing it. No comment was left as to why they stopped. It was left to you why you thought it stopped.

Thank you Miss Scarlett. In the previous version of this thread, both Irisheyes and myself posted several times, as neutrally as possible, to both give and ask for information. It was never done to provoke an argument anymore than this time was.

Hey Scarlett, Grillows is another ship of mine. As luvdenise said, it is from CSI and the relationship between Grissom and Catherine. It kind of parallels E/O in a way; they have been friends for like 20 years and they flirt and have a deeper understanding of each other. They have never taken their relationship to the next level, but seem to be tuned in to each other. The actors are close friends in real life as well. Doesn't this sound very familiar?
