When did this happen? And when did we become such unpleasant people to be around? That thread for shippers and non-shippers was just a nasty excuse to have a place where ranting, raving and shooting down shipper perspectives is justified. There was NOTHING in that thread that hasn't been extensively discussed in the past. NOTHING. I don't get it? What exactly was the purpose?

And I think I can have my own opinion as to whether Kathy and Elliot had a booty call without a 7000 word essay being written in dissent. Ok, you think it wasn't, I think it was. Let's deal ok?

I also hate the insinuation that as an EO shipper I am automatically closed-minded and not receptive of other people's ideas. That is complete BS and something I reallllllly take offence to. I can joke with the best of them and I think that for the past year I have weathered any and all arguments surrounding EO. Including ANNIHILATED, including SCREWED, including PATERNITY, including DEPENDENT, including DANI....including everything. I'm an EO shipper, patience is an absolute virtue.

I am all for discussions. All for it. But I don't like it when somebody feels that it's necessary to take every little thing you say just to disprove it. What do you get out of it? Satisfaction? Do you feel bigger to make somebody feel as though they're delusional and idiotic? If you do, it's a little sad, I'm sorry to say. I'm not naming any names; over the past year a lot of people have joined who are like that. And yes, some are EO shippers.

I don't know if we'll ever arrive at a place where we can agree to disagree, but I have to say that the past three day's activities on this board have hurt me. Nothing was directed solely at me, but the fact that it was so widespread and just...mean, is upsetting.

And Mary, I agree with what you said. Ok, EO may never happen. Good, I get it, I understand it. Doesn't mean I can't believe it will. That I can't think it's a nice idea. That I can't think Kathy isn't the perfect woman for Elliot. That I can't think there's another level to the EO relationship than what is given credit. That I can't think there's a spark missing between EO since this baby was born.

I THINK that we should all just take what comes at face value otherwise we're going to go mad and say things we regret.

The stories for the past two seasons have sucked and the only reason I continued to watch was because I thought I would at least see some E/O action. Now that the writers squashed that idea, who gives a sh*t." LOL! Funny but sad at the same time. SVU writers need to open their eyes and see that they are screwing up big time by not giving the shippers some action.

FanofGrillows, you hit the bull's eye with that question. I've wondered about that too, and thought it's just TPTB's idea of good promotion for the show, and therein lies the problem. In every interview, on screen or in print, it's as if the interviewers always make a point of asking the two leads to define their characters' relationship. After nine years, I can imagine that they are tired of that question already. Describing "the Hug" as "cementing" their relationship can still be thought of as vague, even a little misleading. Did it cement their partnership as simply friendship or a brother/sister kind of rapport? Or did it mean that sometime during their nine year partnership, through the ups and downs of their personal lives, they've come to develop something more for each other that can only be expressed as a hug of gratitude so it's acceptable for others?

As for the USA "How to flirt with your co-workers" commercial, I never thought they'd actually show it on tv until I saw it during one of their reruns. Initially, I thought they won't air it because the whole thing seems to acknowledge that their partnership is not strictly professional and platonic. But now, I just don't understand why TPTB feel the need to send mixed messages. Yes, the ratings are down. Still, I highly doubt the endless teasing is going to get them more viewers.
