They did it to us in Doubt. But I'm on your side, I'd love for it to end all neat and tidy, but there's this niggling part of me saying it won't. I like to think I can leave my faith in the writer's/producers hands...but these days, I'm not so sure.
I got that feeling too,but we have to hope that the show ends good for them all, hopefully with with a man.....:coughing: Elliot :cough: and like some kids.

That's way too cliched for the show. If Elliot and Olivia do end up together, they would never show them having kids, they would probably not even have them married. It just wouldn't...fit. And this is if they even end up together. The writers need to find a logical and believable way for Elliot to leave Kathy first.

They had a beleiveible story for Elliot and Kathy. But they re-newed their contracts, which I don't think the writers were prepared for, and they have to get them back together to take up time. Now it's just a really boring season with them back together.

I personally think the baby was a bad idea, but I guess they needed somehting to sustain the lack of EO hook up.
Hey I just read this article in Playboy...I know that's weird and Cliche. My husband gets them. ANyway- It's all about the science behind why people fall in love. It is sooo interesting- AND- El and Liv- definitly have teh love chemical going on. I could place and episode with so many of the ideas in that atricle. It almost makes me want to put it online with examples for those non-believers.
You know, one thing I don't get...somebody said that EO is fine in Fanfic but not fine on the show. WHY? What is so terrible about two people realizing they love each other? That and I don't understand how you can be so for it in fanfic and then against it on the show? Anyway- it's a lost cause with some people.

I checked out your fanfic Laura, and I had actually read them all. I have terrible long term memory. I think one of the reasons that people like EO in fanfic but not on the show is that the ways we think it might happen are a bit too far-fetched. We're still allowed to dream though, right.

Oct 29 2007, 01:00 AM
I keep mine as close to the show as possible. Mostly I do this to show that it's easy to have them involved, but not affect their work. I know that in reality (if it happened in the show), there'd be a lot more angst between her and Elliot relationship-wise that would in turn affect their jobs. But hey, I live in hope.

Oct 29 2007, 01:06 AM

For someone who's not an EO shipper you certainly post a lot on this thread.
Not trying to be a pisser, just saying.
I actually knew it was you who said that they liked EO in fanfic, but I didn't want to point any fingers. Anyhoo, now that it's out, I'd love to discuss it. I mean, I'm not trying to be a dick. I just honestly don't get it. Above you say you "Don't mind it" but in the past you've definitly stated that you "like EO in fanficiton". Which was taken by me in a different light. Either way, I'm still not sure how you can enjoy EO in one story adn then be 100% oppossed to it in another. There are plenty of EO fanfics that are subtle. I'd even say most of my fanfiction has sublte/realistic EO in it. Occassionally I get a little nuts, but you'd have to cut out a few of the smutty mushy parts. Hey it's network televsion, that'd be cut out of any show.
The writers put the sexual longing into these characters for a reason. If you look at any of the other L&O characters there's no sexual tension or even a remote chance of a "husband and wife" type of argument. Bobby and Ames- I could never imagine them hooking it up. But they are all still amazing detectives to watch. If the writers are going to put this underlined emotion into the characters then they need to frigg'n finish what they started.
And if they do finish what they started, I don't see why anybody would object to it? Especially somebody that has enjoyed EO in some form. You would really take the fun out of the moment because of a stubborn idea in your head? That's craziness.
As an actor I've gone through different ways of watching something. You can either watch the show or anything---and critize everything and pick everything apart or you could just go into it with no expectations and enjoy yourself. When I started to let go of critizim I started to find the positive things that were given to the audience. Even in really bad movies or theater. You especially have to be this way when you watch theater, because most of the time I would see the actors afterwards or the actors were my friends and the last thing you want to say to somebody who's worked hard on a play is that "It SUCKED" Even if they know the show sucks, they still need to hear some positive things about it.
Anyway that's getting OT.
My point is, sometimes I think we're all hanging onto or expectations and our ideas so much that we're preventing ourselves from being entertained. Obviously there is a piece of you that likes EO, why ignore it?

Question: You answer one Law & Order: SVU question in your column and it's about Mariska's hair?! Not cool. The episodes have been good so far, but horrible if you're a Benson-Stabler 'shipper. I'm about to give up on seeing some Elliot-Liv love ever, so please, please give me some good news! — Nikki
Ausiello: A friend of a friend whose sister works on the show watched a rough cut of the episode in which Stabler goes blind and, apparently, it features several heart-wrenching moments between the two of them — beginning with her cradling him in her arms after he gets injured in the line of duty. And at the end of sweeps, look for some major drama surrounding the birth of Kathy's baby. Teases my mole: "There's an amazing scene between Chris and Mariska at the end of that episode."
Source: Ask AusielloHow exciting! Maybe they'll finally do more than look at each other?
Have we even gotten a look at each other out of S9 yet?! I swear 1/2 the time I don't even think they realize the other's in the room.
