I loved this show and all of the characters. It had that right mix of reality and fantasy that I found so entertaining. Will it return for the fall 2007 season? Does anyone have any information? Thanks!

USA doesn't rally have a fall season per se, most of our programs air in the summer and few in the winter (though this year we have L&O: CI in the fall). Anyway, there's no word yet on the future of the Starter Wife, but stay tuned!

Debra Messing Gets Hitched to More 'Starter Wife' - USA's hit summer miniseries develops into a series
October 17, 2007

In spite of what the title implies, "The Starter Wife" isn't that easily discarded.

Debra Messing will return to television for the series "The Starter Wife," currently in development at USA as a follow-up to its successful summer miniseries of the same name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The former "Will & Grace" star will reprise her role as Molly Kagan, a woman who has to rediscover her own identity after getting divorced from a wealthy Hollywood film mogul. Based on the novel by Gigi Levangie Grazer, the series will revolve around Molly's post-divorce adventures.

USA has ordered 10 episodes of the series. The original "Starter" miniseries averaged an impressive 5.4 million viewers in its two-hour debut. A little more than half of those viewers (2.88 million) fell into the holy-grail demographic of adults 18-49, giving USA its best-ever Thursday performance in that measure. The premiere also beat its broadcast competition among women 18-49 in its second hour.

The miniseries was also nominated for ten Emmys, including ones for Messing, best miniseries and writers Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott. Judy Davis snagged an Emmy for her supporting role as Joan McAllister, Molly's alcoholic socialite pal.
