Episode Detail: Alone - House

House is working solo (with some diagnostic help from a hospital janitor) as Season 4 begins. While Cuddy and Wilson nag him to hire a new team, he must treat a young woman who was injured in an explosion. But her injuries aren't what's killing her. Indeed, her repeated crises, each of which House treats successfully, seem to be caused by personal behaviors that baffle her boyfriend. Meanwhile, House's new prized possession, a 1967 Gibson Flying V guitar, is missing.

Hi Bubba here, good episode of House tonight. I felt bad for Megan's family though. It's a wonder the husband survived. It was also weird seeing House without Cameron, Wilson, or Foreman. But, love the interaction between House, Cuddy, and Wilson. Lisa looked great tonight and House played some great guitar, glad to see he got it, excuse me, I mean her back. wink.gif

Hi Bubba here, did I miss something, when did House get a car? I thought he had a motorcycle.

I loved it when House sent the janitor in to get consent. And then when he hijacked Wilson's patient, that was hilarious!

I agree. laugh.gif

Last night's episode was pretty good. I like some of the "newbies" they are very funny at times and aren't afraid to take risks. Plus, it was great to see Cameron, Chase, and Foreman again. I miss the old gang. Next week's preview, looks interesting, here's a small write up for it, entitled " 97 Seconds".

Episode Detail: 97 Seconds - House

When a man in a wheelchair who fainted while crossing a street arrives at the hospital, House tells the 10 remaining candidates to divide themselves into teams. The one that diagnoses the man properly won't be fired. They split up based on gender, but one woman (Anne Dudek) opts to join the men. Meanwhile, a patient sticks a knife into a wall socket for reasons that intrigue House; and Foreman's new diagnostic team at Mercy Hospital in Manhattan faces a tough case.

Hello guys this is my first post here. I'm a HUGE fan of House. I just watched last epp. Hugh was great but i really doubt House will ever reach the level it did in season 2 epps 1-15.

The best thing about House (as series) was main four characters and comunication between them. losing Forman, Cameron and blond guy (sorry can't remember his name right now smile.gif ) was a interesting plot but series it's just not the same without them (as houses team). I really REALLY hope to see them back asap. And it would be great to see some of that humor and dialogs that made season 2 great back.

Chase. Welcome to the forum.

As for my thoughts on "97 Seconds" ...

Wow, what an episode. I don't know what House was thinking when he stuck that knife in that socket. I was also sad to hear Foreman was fired. The episode had a lot of great lines in it though. I just hope the "team" thing gets done soon, because it's getting on my nerves. I miss Cameron, Chase, and Foreman working with House. But, looks like Foreman may be going back to House. We'll see. The preview for October 23rd episode is not up yet, but, by the previews it looks good.

I absolutly love House!
I swear I can quote almost all of his 'houseisms'.
I love season four so far.
Sure, I miss the team but I LOVE the interactions between House, Cuddy, Wilson, and for some reason 'Number 13'.
I cant wait for the next episode.
By the way a thanks to Bubba for the awesome info!

Hi Bubba here, tonight's episode was interesting. It was good to see Caroline Lagerfelt again, she played Joe's wife on Nash Bridges. It was good to see Foreman come back as well.

Do you know if they will ever post the full episodes of House? Unfortunately TIVO missed the very last part of the Guardian Angels episode due to the show before it running lat and I did not catch who House decided to let go. Tivo recorded up until House had the flowers in his hand and was going to give it out to the folks that were staying. By the way, if anyone has contact with the writers tell them I think it is funny and neat how they have tied some of the other tv shows ie The Bachelor and the other reality one Survivor or whatever its called into it!

I loved this last eppy (sorry I don't know the name). I loved that Steve Valentine was on it, since Crossing Jordan's no longer on and I can't get my Nigel fix. I loved the "challenge" from House. I didn't like that the case wasn't particularly memorable. I remember that he was A not AB and that he had a key in his gut but I don't remember what was really wrong with him. I guess I'll have to watch it again.

House Is Back! Olivia Wilde, aka "Thirteen," Has the Scoop

by Nina Hämmerling Smith

Olivia Wilde, House

If you're feeling light-headed from the recent lack of House, fear not: The first of three original episodes airs tonight (9 pm/ET, Fox), and it promises to be a doozy. The episode, "It's a Wonderful Lie," guest-stars Janel Moloney (The West Wing) as a woman who injures her daughter because of a sudden, inexplicable paralysis; but it's her apparent inability — or unwillingness — to tell a lie that has Dr. House both puzzled and fascinated. "It's a Wonderful Lie" also happens to be a Christmas episode, the odd timing coming as a consequence of the strike-condensed season. "I think the fact that it is Christmas is sort of odd and funny, but in the vein of House humor," says Olivia Wilde, who plays newly hired Thirteen (her actual name has yet to be revealed on the show). "It’s something that House would do — throw Christmas late."
The next episode, airing immediately after the Super Bowl this Sunday, guest-stars Mira Sorvino as a psychiatrist trapped at the South Pole who must attempt to diagnose herself with House's help, via webcam consultation. "It’s a whole new way of working for him," says Wilde, "and he’s forced to confront a lot of his own fears, as far as confronting the patients themselves personally." In next Tuesday's episode, likely the last of the season, House and his team treat a Hasidic woman with a past. (This episode should be a treat for all you Wilsonites out there, as our boy comes clean about a new romance.)

Wilde, for one, is celebrating the fact that she's still on the show; in the first part of the season, the actors were "auditioning" to become members of the cast just as their characters were competing for three coveted fellowships. "It meant that we never took it for granted," says Wilde. But unlike on the show, the actors didn't go out of their way to undermine each other. "We decided very early on that the only way to deal with the competitiveness that was obviously in the air was to joke about it constantly." In the last episode that aired, way back in November, it looked like Thirteen was out the door after House fired her — until Cuddy, playing right into his hands, granted her a reprieve on the grounds that House had to have a woman on his team. "There was a moment when my entire family thought I was fired, because I don’t tell them anything in advance," says Wilde. "So I got this call from my father, who hadn’t even finished watching the episode, and he was like, 'What? What happened?' I had to assure everyone that they had to watch it through.”

The strike has put a damper on the season, of course. "I really, really miss playing [Thirteen]," says Wilde. "I think this separation from the show, because of the strike, has made me realize how much I enjoy being here every day." Working with Hugh Laurie has been another source of great enjoyment. "Watching Hugh and the way he behaves and how professional he is, and the risks that he takes... it ups the bar. They really are serious about making it one of the best shows on television."

As for some vocal fans' claims that Thirteen is nothing more than a watered-down version of Cameron, Wilde doesn't see it that way. "I find Cameron’s character to be so compassionate and emotional; she is just so lovable and a lover. I find Thirteen to be almost the opposite." But, she concedes, "[if] there are two girls on a show, people are always going to compare them."

There are still plenty of mysteries to unravel about Thirteen, not least of which is her name. "They actually tried to hide it," she says. "It disappeared from the call sheets. I think they’re not putting too much value on the secrecy of a name, but they like the fact that it established this sort of inside joke between House and Thirteen. He could easily look at her file and see her name, but he chooses to keep it up." Hopefully with the arrival of some new episodes, we'll be able to put a name to the number before too long.

I thought tonight was a great episode. It was well woven -- I could actually see how everything was working together as it unfolded.

There were sides of House I've never seen and I loved the interaction of Wilson and Foreman. Seeing House have to work his magic in a way that wasn't a process of elimination was new and good. Who'd have thunk a broken toe could cause so much havoc?

It left me thinking a LOT... (and wishing I had the money to run out and buy all of the older seasons!)

I don't know if I love Amber (I was happy when she was fired) and I'm not sure I like her dating Wilson but I have to admit that I laughed for the previews of next week.

And might I just say Wilson was PRICELESS?

Question: I'm dying for some House scoop. Seriously. I'll bake you cookies. — Lyaman

Ausiello: Good news: The two-part Super Bowl episode that got sidelined by the writers' strike will see the light of day this May. According to a Fox insider, the scripts will undergo a little tweaking and will now serve as this season's final two episodes. Series creator David Shore tells USA Today that in the second of those two, House will get in an accident and lose his memory of the preceding hours. "He'll be finding out what he's forgotten and its significance," says Shore. "Bringing his memory back is crucial." Gimme my cookies!
