Flying a confederate flag witout understanding the history behind it...big pet peeve.

Another pet peeve of mine is that Dick Gephardt (congressman from missouri not to long ago) passed legilsation that does not allow stars and bars to be flown over any of the historical monuments here in MO. That kind of hocks me off because although we were still in the union, MO was a slave state and there were lots of men who fought for the confederacy here (in the county in which I grew up the ratio was 16 confederates for every 1 union soldier). I'm not a huge fan of stars and bars, but when it is used in a historial context, it dosen't bother me at all. I have a problem with people who tru to make history PC.

lol!! thats interesting....but would i have to say, maybe a mixture of both. cuz ootori is the smart one in the group. he does all these background checks on members, and somewhat manipulates tamaki. i can see bobby doing that. but also!! i think that he is like mori cuz he is the most handsome, and so is our man bobby ^_~. plus he is calm, and you cant tell what he is thinking. but that got me thinking...if bobby is like mori...does that mean eames is like honey!?! o.o lol!!!

Jryan! my thoughts are with your and your daughter. im sure she will be just fine ^_~

Yeah see I thought Mori at first, but then Kyoya is all sneaky and smart... Looks and demeanor = Mori. Brains = Kyoya.

Eames is NOT Honey. If I had to pick anyone from the group for Eames, I'd have to go with Haruhi. I really can't think of anyone else that comes as close to matching. Though Haruhi is too soft spoken and nice most of the time... Of course minus when Eclaire showed up... What a horrible girl.

I read a fanfic though that kind of redeemed her. She fell in love with Honey of all people.

Hrm, well if I get around to drawing, I'll post in the fanart thread...

I have a question, does anyone know what it means, when looking at the names at the bottom main page who's on line sometimes there is a solid line, sometimes there is a dotted line. What is the difference in meaning?

I think that it means that person is posting or active on a topic. I think. I don't really know.

Last night I was discussing law and order with a couple of the kids in my youth group. It was good times. There is one girl that watches SVU and I was telling her about how stabler is supposed to be going blind tonight. one of my other kids was like, "you guys are stupid." and I was like, "no we're not. Law and order is awsome."

there was no point to that. i just thought at I'd share.

Do all three L&O series take place at 1PP? Or are they all just in manhattan?

No. The mothership takes place in the 27th Precinct. I'm still looking around the web for the location of SVU, but I don't think it is 1PP. I'll post when I find out.

Updated: SVU takes place at the fictional 16th Precinct also known as Manhatten SVU.

My sources are http://svufn.wikidot.com/whatissvu and http://www.law4u.com.au/lil/tv_svu.html

SVU takes place in Manhattan as does the mothership. I was wondering if the locaton of the (fictional) 27th precinct and Manhattan SVU was supposed to be at One Police Plaza.
Jryan
SVU is the 16th prect which there is no 16th

I don't think so. I am under the impression that the precincts are located in different areas of the city. I think 1 PP is where Major Case is located because they go to all areas of the city. It is also where all the "mucky-mucks" are located (Chief of Detectives, etc.).

This is quoted from wikipedia:

Special Victims Squad
The Special Victims Squad is housed in Borough Patrols.

Major Case Squad
The Major Case Squad is located at One Police Plaza in Manhattan.

Law and order original The police are represented in the show by the police lieutenant of Manhattan's 27th precinct and two homicide detectives, a senior partner and a junior partner. The detectives investigate the crime, collect evidence, and interview witnesses, then regularly reporting to the lieutenant. The evidence leads to the arrest of one or more suspects. The matter then is taken over by the prosecutors of the Manhattan District Attorney's office, comprising the district attorney, the executive assistant district attorney, and an assistant prosecutor. They discuss deals, prepare the witnesses, evidence, and conduct the people's case in the trial. Both the detectives and prosecutors work with the medical examiner's office, the crime laboratory, and psychiatrists from the police and district attorney offices.

SVU
is an American drama television series about the Special Victims Unit in the fictitious 16th Precinct of the New York City Police Department . The show debuted in 1999 as a spin-off of the crime drama Law & Order and follows the same opening style of its parent. SVU is currently the highest rated series of the Law & Order franchise, and is one of NBC's top rated shows. The Law & Order franchise also includes two other series dramas: the original Law & Order, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Didn't know where to put this since administration closed the USA ad thread and the Move to USA thread. But just saw the cutest commercial during Bad Boys II, It was made as an advertisement for alltel. It was about cops having their own lingo and keeping intouch with your circle. Had Eames saying DOA and Goren talking about FAT CATs, and talking to his mom on the phone about miss understanding. Also had Falacci and Logan. And the Scene with Ross and all the guys at the poker table with their phones ringing. Just thought it was cute.

I have my first dance class tonight, so I'll be rewinding the first few minutes of tonight's epi. But then I can fast forward through some commercials. BONUS!

awww thanks, waiting for the surgery center to call me to let us know what time to be there, tomorrow. Yes I am sure we will be there all day, Just hope all goes well and she doesn't have to stay over night. I will probably have to wait and talk about tonights episode tomorrow night, since I usually like to watch it twice before I comment. Hubby has a bad cold, and has been home the last few days, so I am nursing two sick people. Just hope I don't catch what he has. But thanks again for your well wishes, I will check in tomorrow.

I was looking at My Controls, and It has a control that says you can select to ignore a user and not have there post show but only if the board allows. Does anyone know if that is allowed on this board?

Good for you! I wish I could be that organized. I did actually spend the year crocheting blankets for my mother and sisters--the question is, will I finish the last one in time? The one for my oldest sister is made from potholders that our grandmother crocheted over the years. After she died, my sister got all of the potholders and asked me if I could make them into a blanket. That was 7 years ago--I think she has given up hope of ever seeing those potholders again, which will make it a really good surprise. I'm not that creative so it was hard for me to figure out how to put them together and what color to use to, etc. But I think it turned out nice.
