Hi Bubba here, ...
Yes, I am a LSU fan. I was born in Louisiana. Sorry.
Then that makes you the King B coon-a$$! I had so much fun before the tragedy occured, but that was back in the day on Bourbon Street when I went twice! Wow! Exciting place and good hurricane drinks at Pat O'Briens!

Up all night, Daughter throwing up, then all morning in Doctors office, afternoon in hospital running test. Gallstones, sigh, Appointment with Surgeon Thursday. At least they are doing it now Laparoscopically. When I had mine done 19 yrs ago, it was an open procedure. Wish I could take a nap, but now have clothes to wash.

I add my well-wishes too, Jryan, for you and your daughter. I had my gall bladder out, then stones removed from the duct the next day, back in 1991, laproscopically (sp?). Like bug said, the worst part is, they INflate you but don't DEflate you. ;-////

The good part is, hardly any scarring, and quick rehab. I was back to work in less than a week.

Thanks spook, and bug, just wish it was me, instead of my baby. All I have left to be removed is my uterus, and tonsils. lol. She had her tonsils last year. She is 18, but her mentality is a little younger, when they were drawing her blood she asked if she was going to die. Well you know bad things can happen, but you don't want to go into all of that, so I assured her it was just like her tonsils. But with her social anxiety anything to do with strangers and new people can put her in a panic attack. She sees the Surgeon on Thursday, so probably the surgery won't be till next week. I will keep yall posted.

Jryan.

PS. Wonder if we will have a new fan of the week by then? lol.

Both of you take care, Jryan. Having had both gall bladder and tonsils removed, the gall bladder was the easier procedure to recover from, except for the inflation thing. :-)

I always hate having a general anesthetic. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled w/novacaine (sp?) only and then the insurance company wouldn't cover it - they said it wasn't "surgery" unless I was under. ;-PP

I tried to vote but they told me I was at the wrong precinct and sent me to another. I went there and found out that I had been at the right precinct and I needed to go back. I had to go to work, so I couldn't but I am going to go and vote right after I check a few more posts. biggrin.gif

I voted! I voted for my husband three times. He's running for borough council. You could vote for up to 3 people. So, I voted for him once under his name and twice as a write-in.

For those of you who don't live in PA, boroughs are essentially cities, but here in Pennsi-tucky, we are far too independent to have actual cities. Instead we establish a new muncipality every 10 feet and call them boroughs or townships.

I had my gall bladder out earlier this year. I was in the hospital for 5 days because I woke up with major pain in my abdomen, went to the walk-in clinic where they told me it was probably gall bladder but I had to go to the hospital so they could check it w/ ultrasound. So I threw up in the ER, and they confirmed gall bladder. Had surgery to remove it 2 days later. Laproscopy FTW! It still hurt when I tried to move around for a couple days though. I don't know if it was stones or not, but they did tell my MOM (not me, the patient, but my Mom who lives 3 hours away,) that there was an infection.

Anyway, all the best to your daughter. smile.gif

"One thing voters can't do is write in a candidate who is already on the ballot. Last year, a political group known as NOTA-PA.ORG encouraged voters to write in candidates because it gives them more control over their votes. According to state elections law, a candidate already available on a ballot cannot be written in."

Taken from a York PA site which I closed by accident before I can get you the link...sorry...

I wouldn't have gone if my sister hadn't wanted a ride to the polling place. I did finally get my ballot in. Not a whole lot to vote on in my area besides a possible increase in taxes for the bus system and some city council members.

Damn I'm so excited. I just found out that Joss Whedon is returning to television with a new series on Fox. Although I enjoy watching Criminal Intent I have missed the intelligence and uniqueness of a Joss Whedon script. I realize posting this on this site will probably irritate a number of people but evidently one can't post on a Fox site for 48 hrs after signing up. I was just too thrilled to wait. I did try to post this on a off topic area so don't be too upset.

Hey you Whedon fan you...you should be reading the Whedonesque site...also thanks to the WGA strike I don't know if his new show will go into production as soon as planned unsure.gif

Have you heard about how the Whedon fans bought pizza for some of the LA strikers? Pretty cool if you ask me. They are also reaching out to other fandoms to support the WGA strikers in general. So they can't be too bad LOL!

I was talking to my daughter-in-law about the surprise dinner party she is planning for my son's 30th birthday this weekend. She had asked me to make Taco Salad because she and my son love it so much and of course I agreed. As she was telling me about the food she was planning, I heard myself say to her "If you need help with anything else, just let me know". I heard the words coming out of my mouth but couldn't seem to stop it. SO..on Friday, instead of going to my mother's house to get on the board (no internet at home yet) to talk about Courtship--I will be making lasagne. The sacrifices we mothers make for our children!

That's a great question. I live in Florida, and you know the debacles we have had as far as elections go! I did a little digging, and from what I found, it is possible to do what you described, but it is also against the law. When it happens, the ballot is thrown out, and the voter may or may not be prosecuted.

I hope your husband won...

I need advice on a VERY important issue. Tuesday nights used to be "Gilmore Girls" night for my daughter and myself. We always had pizza--sometimes good pizza, sometimes cheap pizza, depending on finances. And usually we had cookies, chips, and whatever junk sounded good. I mean, what else would you eat on a Gilmore Girls night except junk? Sadly, Gilmore Girls nights are over. But now I have LOCI night (sometimes with my daughter, sometimes without). Since I get it a 7:00, its dinner-time. And I am not cooking on LOCI night! But I haven't found the "perfect" takeout dinner for LOCI. Yes, Veal Parmigian is an obvious choice, but I'm not really into veal and the takeout would be a bit pricey. We are probably doing pizza tonight, but it just doesn't seem to fit. Any suggestions?

What I hate is when they get Stabler injured in the first five minutes and then we don't get to see him for the rest of the episode.

Spoiler:
Chris Meloni said his character gets blindsided by a perp, so it's not a trivial injury. And it doesn't look like an eyelash <g> in the preview. Not sure how many eps it's supposed to last tho.

I actually make it a point TO cook on LOCI night. True for me it comes on at 10, but I'd do it even if it was on at 7. Because takeout adds up and I want a special meal for new episode night, I'll whip up a little something most weeks. Last week I cooked myself a steak, this week is homemade beef quesadillas! On G/E nights I'll stop at Cold Stone and get one of their awesome chocolate malts too.

Spagetti, breakfast foods (omlettes, or pancakes!), and fried rice are all things you can make quick and easy. Also crock pots allow you to do the cooking in the morning and eat in the evening.

For no cooking at all - Grocery store delis usually have "heat & eat" meals. There's also fried chicken, chinese, mexican, indian, thai food, or hamburgers.

How about doing some quick cook pasta. Then chop an onion and maybe some courgette, chuck in pan, fry it off, add some tuna and then creme fraiche, maybe a bit of cayenne pepper for a bit of a kick. Mix the pasta in wiht the sauce and voila.

Shouldn't take you more than 15/20 mins!!
