I'll tell you want my hubby tells anyone thinking about military service (he was in the Army for 7 years) Go officer and go Air Force if possible. Regardless of the branch, go officer.

Hell yeah, three of us, dam they should fly us up there, put us up in a suite, take us shopping, with VDO of course, and let us have walk on parts, watch a whole epi being shot, professional pics with the whole cast, that's not too much to ask, is it?

Detangling my daughter's super-long hair always put me in such a bad mood because no matter how much i thought i'd detangled it, it always got knots in it else where. And it just hung there and was always in the way. Now it's like her hair has a new lease of life, it shines and bounces and she looks a little more older. She's seven, but she looks more older and her confidence has really gone up. And she looks beautiful. I too wish we'd done this a lot earlier.

I have talked to Judy also JRyan, numerous times. We have had a very long chat and I understand what she is doing and why she is doing it. I would love to see her back in here again but I am not going to rush her. She will come back on her own time and on her own circumstances. I hope very quickly but as I said I am not rushing her. I have yet to talk to Spook yet. Still attempting.

I already told Spook on this forum about the X-Files movie and she said if Doggett isn't in it she isn't going. I will be seeing it.

It is still called I Want to Believe, that's what I read anyway but they didn't give away any plotline that I saw. When I know more, I'll let you know.

I was a Moose and Squirrel (Mulder/Scully) shipper when the first movie came out. I loved it. I just thought Chris Carter the surfer god overdid it when he finally hooked up Mulder, Scully and the baybee. In season 8 or 9. Too much soap, not enough drama.

The marines made me a really good offer the other day that i keep thinking about though.

I've always wanted to be in the Navy, but thats the worst branch for women.

I was shocked when I saw the shippy stuff in the movie. I seriously didn't know. I thought it was the first time of them hooking up. I was jumping around and excited. Like I said, need to watch that show. I think my daughter's grandma has them ALL on VHS recorded. I need to talk to her and see about borrowing them and watching them in order when I get more time.

Both my parents were Air Force. I have 3 nephews in the Army now. One is in Iraq. The Army has much more career opportunities and fields than anyone else. Good luck!

Can you finish your schooling first with either 2-year or 4-year degree? Then I believe you go in as an officer.

I always thought male Marines looked the hottest in their dress uniforms.

Take your time making your decision and ask everyone their opinions, hopefully including women in the service too.

Maybe you will Captain a real ship!!! What will be funny is when they ask for your experience and you explain how you captain our ship.

Do you have a fav season, tasha? For M/S I loved season 4 the best, after that it kinda went downhill, until by season 6 and 7, it felt like DD was playing himself instead of Mulder, in the opinion of lots of us at the old atxf newsgroup. We called him punk#$$ Mulder.

I always thought that AD Skinner was hot. There was an episode where he was accused of murdering a girl. He had a scene in his briefs!!

I thought he and Scully would make a good pair.

From the people I talk to (and trust in a military town, there's lots!) the Air Force is considered leagues better than the other services. (And no, there isn't an AF Base here). If you are turned off by the Navy, please remember that the Marines are closely attached to the Navy.

Talk it over with your mom, and the recruiters. This is a huge choice to make, and I'm very proud of you for considering it.

i 3rd! my cousin was in the army .. died in a unrelated plan crash .. survive overseas just to die in his hometown ..weird how things work

That vampire story was SO funny! I think that ep was called Bad Blood. The sheriff and his buck teeth in Mulder's version was a hoot! That was a classic ep.

as you all now by my sig.. i have two wonderful guys.. son in law.. and son who have served.. my son in law is making it a career and my son served 8 years and blew out his knee playing basketball in afghanistan..lol.. (goof ball).. anyway.. he's out and continueing his education on the gi bill.. he says he really misses it sometimes...he spent two tours in afghanistan and my son in law had a tour in korea and Iraq.. he's now stationed here in alabama!!.. yayy.. get to see my daughter and grand daughters!!..he's a crew chief on a chopper and loves it.. now he is training men.
I don't really know how it is for women so much.. except i worked with a lady who was in the airforce many years ago.. she went in as an officer and a nurse.. she loved it.. said it was the happiest time of her life.. but it wasn't war times then and she served mostly in germany and japan..
I agree, Valley, talk with your parents.. on a note about recruiters.. there there to get you to sign.. you don't always get the package they offer... but they can give you some insight.. but remember.. they are in sells so to speak.
oh.. I have a nephew in the marines also.. he is in japan now.. he said it was tough at first but now he is appreciating it much more.
if you can find some women who have served.. also talk to them.. you will hear good and bad stories.. ultimately it is your decision...good luck to you... and i for one am proud yur even considering it.
