I have been so sick over the last few days. It started friday night when I was kind of sick to my stomach, and I had some reflux typed stuff going on. That continued through saturday. Yesterday the reflux went away, but I was fatigued and had a headache (I probably had a fever, too, but I can't find my thermometer). Today I have a splitting headache. This has not been fun.

That does not sound fun... you seem to have a sort of flu thing going on there.
Lots of sleep and light soup, lots of LOCI. I have heard the milk helps with the reflux stuff. It does for me... just a sip or two settles it down.
Now go and find a dark room, some light gentle music and go to sleep it off!!!!

Good luck!!

I discovered the milk thing with the reflux. I had never heard of it before, but I was like, "I feel like I need something that will coat my esophagus on the way down. What would do that...MILK!" It worked really well. I haven't had any problems with it since saturday. (I typically don't have acid relflux problems, but I was having them for whatever reason this weekend)

I don't know if flashymom said any thing about this to you all but I am going to be offline from Thursday the 17th to Sunday the 20th of April. My 87 year old maternal grandmother (the last of my living grandparents) died last Tuesday. So I have to go across country (to Idaho) for the funeral. I don't think the hotel I'll be staying at has a way for me to check in to what's going on here (and no I don't have a laptop or a PDA or a cell phone...the latter 2 wouldn't work well in the country anyway). So if you need something from me from Thursday to Sunday it's going to have to wait. I won't be reading PMs or emails etc unless and until I can find a way to get online out there.

This is a kind of complicated funeral...my grandmother lived with relatives in California and has to be flown back to Idaho to be buried next to my grandfather (who died in 1987). Her casket arrives in Boise sometime tomorrow, then it's a 45 minute drive to the small town funeral home. I certainly did not plan things this way (I was supposed to be at a college club reunion of sorts this same weekend and this week there are the SAG negotiations) but I'm dealing with the scheduling nightmare as best I can.

By the way I am actually relieved for my grandmother's sake. She has had numerous chronic health problems for the past 25 years and the last couple of years her overall quality of life was extremely low. Mentally she was in good shape but physically it was hard for her and emotionally she was depressed a lot.

Thanks, spook.

I don't know what the deal is. I don't feel like I have a cold or the flu. I just feel yucky...and sore.

I received another email that is really funny....this is for all the teachers out there...

Have you heard about the next planned "Survivor" show?

Three businessmen and three businesswomen will be dropped in an
elementary school classroom for 1 school year. Each business person
will be provided with a copy of his/her school district's curriculum,
and a class of 28 - 32 students.

Each class will have a minimum of five learning-disabled children,
three with A.D.D., one gifted child, and two who speak limited
English. Three students will be labeled with severe behavior problems.

Each business person must complete lesson plans at least 3 days in
advance, with annotations for curriculum objectives and modify,
organize, or create their materials accordingly. They will be required
to teach students, handle misconduct, implement technology, document
attendance, write referrals, correct homework, make bulletin boards,
compute grades, complete report cards, document benchmarks,
communicate with parents, and arrange parent conferences. They must
also stand in their doorway between class changes to monitor the
hallways.

In addition, they will complete fire drills, tornado drills, and [Code
Red] drills for shooting attacks each month.

They must attend workshops, faculty meetings, and attend curriculum
development meetings. They must also tutor students who are behind and
strive to get their 2 non-English speaking children proficient enough
to take the Terra Nova, Diagnostics and FCAT tests. If they are sick
or having a bad day they must not let it show.

Each day they must incorporate reading, writing, math, science, and
social studies into the program. They must maintain discipline and
provide an educationally stimulating environment to motivate students
at all times. If all students do not wish to cooperate, work, or
learn, the teacher will be held responsible.

The business people will only have access to the public golf course on
the weekends, but with their new salary, they may not be able to
afford it. There will be no access to vendors who want to take them
out to lunch, and lunch will be limited to thirty minutes, which is
not counted as part of their work day. The business people will be
permitted to use a student restroom, as long as another survival
candidate can supervise their class.

If the copier is operable, they may make copies of necessary materials
before, or after, school. However, they cannot surpass their monthly
limit of copies. The business people must continually advance their
education, at their expense, and on their own time.

The winner of this Season of Survivor will be allowed to return to their
job.

Pass this to your friends who think teaching is easy, and to the ones
who know it's hard!

I love it! As a teacher, this accurately describes my job!
jcsavestheday
Sickness....boooo. I want to work on my fic. That's really all I want to do right now. I can hear them trying to talk to me, but I can't make sense of what they're saying....

I definitely like Wheeler better than Barek. I liked barek okay, but Wheeler seems to have a bit more of a personality.

I also think that all of the Logan/Barek fan fic turned me off to her, too.

There are some that are good, but there are some that are not. Very out of character.

DefenderofMen is working on a Logan/Barek, and I'm excited to see how it turns out, because I have not been very impressed with some of the others that I've read.

I haven't read very much of the fanfic - I'll have to check out some of the Logan stories. I can't bring myself to read the Goren/Eames shippy ones since I'd prefer not to have those pictures in my head. spook's fics are an excellent read and stay with the theme of LOCI and the Goren/Eames characters.

Hey, has anyone noticed that USA started censoring the language in CI? In Bright Boy, the line "You have some balls coming between me and my child" ..."balls" was silenced. And in Anti-thesis, the line, "He didn't have a pot to piss in" ..."piss" was silenced. Both epi's aired at the 4am slot, so its not like it was during family hour. Are they doing that to all shows?

I have heard it said that actors are so sick of the photographers and the people who hassle them everwhere they go. So, this is my dilema...I totally LOVE this actor...but by wanting to see more of him, more of his movies and all...pics of him....am I contributing to the annoyance of all those camera people chasing him everywhere? I mean I feel bad now. Is this a bad thing, wanting like that...maybe causing actors grief in wanting it? The last thing I would want is to be a pain in someones butt. unsure.gif

I feel for you Vault, but I understand what you're saying about her moving on too. Safe travels and I hope everything works out for you.

( not many CI fans round here) soo thanks eveyone ..

Yeah I don't have alot of friends around here either, and I'm planning to move to a new town in a month or two as well, provided I can find a job. I'm just glad to have another freaky person to relate to around here. I'm not punk per se, but I think punks and gothy types have gotten along for the most part.

Speaking of gothy things: OMG!!! Convergence is coming to FL!!!! I thought New Orleans would be the closest it would ever get to here, but I found out it's gonna be in Ybor City (Tampa) this year!!!

New SVU eppy airs in 9 hours and 27 minutes! Ooh Happy Day! Just bought snacks & drinks! rolleyes.gif

Now, I'm sad. Diane Neal, the Casey Novak ADA in SVU is leaving the show. Her last appearance will be on the Finale. She has to take other opportunities in her life. Dah, she will be missed. DW is now busy seeking Neal's replacement. I wish her good luck sad.gif

I love Casey... I hope they get someone good to take her spot.

Oh, bummer! I like Diane Neal. Saw on internet over weekend where the Divine Miss Rohm and her fiancee welcomed a baby girl on Thursday. They are getting married in October.... smile.gif

Oh I bet it's a pretty baby. She's such a beautiful woman.

I don't HAVE a hubby or significant other, so I'm alone anytime I'm not working.

YAY! New SVU! smile.gif

I didn't know Diane Neal was leaving. Can we get Stephanie March back, or is Cabot still in witness protection?

No. We can't. The search for a new A.D.A. is already underway, and, sadly, bringing March back doesn't appear to be an option.

How come your only like this, when i have one foot out the door, your interest always fades when i might be in a position to return it.

JCSTD, you doing better now? Hope you are over with that flu. It's weird, two days ago, it was as hot as the oven. Now, it's cold. Today, I just received a cold. Must be staying late for watching 'Prisoner' eppy last night. Vincent is worth watching, who cares, lol

VDOvault, I am very sorry for your loss. You two must be very close. Have a safe journey trip.

I'm so ticked. I won't get to see it at the same time everyone else will tonight. I'm recording it, but I only thought that I was going to miss a little of it until just now, when I realized that I'm prolly going to miss all of it.
