OK, I'm going to quiz you like I do my kids: Is anyone bothering you at school? (or work, in your case) Do you have a project in school that you need to tell me about? Problems with any of the kids on the bus? Worried about anything?

If not, then take some Pepto Bismol and take it easy. Carry some Sprite and crackers with you to work.

Oh, one more thought for you.....You aren't pregnant are you?

It could be that your pill has too high a dosage of estrogen for your body. I had a pill like that once -- I felt nauseaus and very dizzy. Called the doctor and he said to stop taking it; after 2 days off that pill, I felt much better. I was switched to a very low estrogen pill and that worked just fine for me.

If the only thing you are doing different lately is taking that medication, that's the most likely culprit.

To all those not feeling very peachy today... just think that today is one more day closer to seeing our favourite detective again, tomorrow is two days closer etc etc etc. And...... I have it on good authority that chicken soup is very good for you when feeling a bit poorly.

GET WELL SOON all.

PS: on the possible hormonal issue: I went off the pill for health reasons.. it was giving me migraines every month and my digestive system went topsy turvy every month. The stress at work did not help either, but going of the pil definitely helped more. Felt much better once it was all out of my system. I just take starflower oil and iron tablets now and that seems to be working really well!! I can really recommend them.

Chicken Noodle Soup coming right up!

Today was the first day back at school for my daughter since the accident. She texted me and said she has a headache. She took some Vicodin and was planning to go in later, but then she said it was worse. So, probably no school for her today. This head injury has given her a built-in excuse to miss school--I hope she doesn't abuse it. I am hoping that the rule, "No school, no leaving the house for the day" will deter any temptation to use the injury to get out of school.

BTW, did anyone know that today is Cesar Chavez Day? Is it only in CA? The DMV is closed (which I found out when I went there this morning), but the schools are open, and I think the banks are open.

Wow, you sound like me. I'm going through the same thing with my daughter as she's been complaining of tummy pains on and off for the last couple of days. She's happy enough through the day, it's just getting her settled at night that's the problem at the moment so i've been asking her the same questions too. My kids begin their school holiday on Friday for two weeks, usually it starts at Easter but with Easter being early this year, they go on holiday later. Two weeks. Fun. Not huh.gif

Hope all of you feeling ill are better soon

My kids went back to school today too. I wonder if I should quiz myself and make sure I am really sick. Hmmm. Nope. My daughter came home from grandmothers house after spending a week and brought home the 24 hour flu. She decided to share it with me. I really didn't want it and I don't want to share it with my co workers either. Hopefully I will be better tomorrow but I told my supervisor to put me down for off tomorrow just in case.

Thanks Ruby for the well wishes. Still feeling in the pits but hopefully will be feeling better tomorrow.

Thank you! It really bugs me when people come to work when they are sick! "Its just a cold." "I can't afford to take time off". Right--its just a cold that you have now given to me! And I can't afford to take time off, either, so please keep your germs to yourself!

This is why I stay home when I don't feel well. I actually sit by someone who comes to work sick. I hate that she does that. She doesn't go to the doctor unless she is literally dying. She takes a lot of vitamins and over the counter medicines but it takes her twice and long to get over things and she comes to work every single day sick. I can't stand it. I want to wear a mask when she does it.

That is a terrible temptation to use that accident as an excuse.

My brother got Cesar Chavez Day off at his the College he goes to. It must be us Cali's that care about it.

Just an update, to ensure you guys aren't worried about me. Thanks to Judy for Thumbsucker, and everyone else's support here.

I've been going through a lot of stuff in RL lately I've never dealt with. But man, is there a major downside to that, and I've recently discovered it.
Until I resolve some stuff with school and personally, I won't be posting. Thank goodness for understanding family, and I'd appreciate if you guys keep me in your thoughts and prayers too.

Sounds like what I had. Bacterial bronchitis that leads to walking pneumonia. I was on a puffer, steroids, cefzil, nasal spray. Finally the Dr. put me on Singulair. It has actualy made me feel better.
I had 4 weeks with a bad cough and barely being able to walk the dog to the bottom of my driveway.

Ah! Thats not good! I'm glad you are feeling better! I don't have a fever anymore, but the over the counter meds are quite cutting it. So I was thinking the dr. could give me a Rx strength expectorant and decongestant.

::flashymom passes out new cans of Lysol spray and face masks to everyone::

Don't forget to wash your hands frequently for at least 30 secs. each time. 30 secs is the length of time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday to You", and you have to be rubbing your hands together all over during that time, and rinse well after.

For those of you with stuffy noses -- get a NasalMed SinuSpray bottle and the saline solution mix packets. Use with WARM water 2x day -- it really works!

I have a client who is accusing her granddaughter of committing Medi-Cal fraud, while the granddaughter is accusing the client of fraud, and the whole family is getting in on it, and people keep calling me to give me their version of what is going on. And, oh yeah, the client doesn't speak English, so I have to find our Portuguese interpreter in order to talk to her. We have an appointment to go to her home on the 14th, but I think the family is going to drive me crazy first. Sounds more like you are going to need a lot of patience, a good pair of eyes and ears (usually you can tell if a person is lying by how they act) and probably more time than you will have available. It's fun when everyone who has nothing directly to do with something tells you what is going on.. clouds the issues and makes it so much harder to achieve anything. I don not envy you a bit.

Good luck!!!

Until I resolve some stuff with school and personally, I won't be posting. Thank goodness for understanding family, and I'd appreciate if you guys keep me in your thoughts and prayers too.

Thanks. smile.gif

AmandaB - I just saw your post but I hope all is well. You have my e-mail if you need to talk, give me a shout. My thoughts and prayers are with you. smile.gif

I told my supervisor this morning, "I need Detective Goren to find out who is telling the truth!" laugh.gif

YOU should write a book - it would be a best seller.

The kiwi have asked me to tell you how thrilled they would be to negotiate to have the other fruit come back to the bar - Do you have any terms that you would like the kiwi to present on your behalf? cool.gif

I'll let Cloggs know. She is in charge of the bar, so they would be negotiating with her. I hope the end is in sight!

Mr. Key Wee is the head of the kiwi clan and is patiently awaiting instructions from Cloggs. He is a first rate negotiator and has lead many a vegetable walk out to a swift conclusion. This will be his first fruit negotiation but he is primed and ready for the challenge. He wants to know if you think he should shave before meeting with the pineapples and strawberries? laugh.gif

Might be a good idea. I hear the strawberries are suckers for Moar Scruff, but those pineapples are a pretty straight-laced bunch!

Well, I'm a teetotaler and I hate strawberries. But if VDO is delivering, I could definately be persuaded!

You hate strawberries? blink.gif No kidding?! Why? Friends tell me when you eat them; gives your skin a healthy glow.

I've heard that pineapples can be a bit prickly to deal with! laugh.gif
