Hey someone messaged me with a suggestion, and I figured I would throw it out there and see if anyone was interested. On another board I am on, they do an episode of the week, since there will be no new episodes till June, we could pick a rerun playing on USA maybe on the monday, spend the week Re-Reviewing it, until the new episodes start. Anyone interested? What do yall think.? Tomorrow But Not Forgotten is playing we could start with that one.

Hey, sounds like a fun idea. When is it playing? Monday, USA at what time..?

I'm glad your puppy is all right. That's freaky

I, however, have a funny story you reminded me.

My mom has this tiny super hyper min-pin named Rudy. One day I was getting ready for school and I dropped a Concerta (for ADHD). I looked and couldn't find it. Turns out the dog found it first. The rest of the morning Rudy just sat on my bed calmly watching me get ready instead of following me around and getting in my way. Don't know if it had to do with the med, but I found it hilarious.

He was fine. He's been through worse (eating an entire Hershey's bar).

Our older doxie once ate a half a batch of dark chocolate brownines! I thought she was a goner...she shook, panted, shook some more, drank bowl after bowl of water and had the poops for 2 days!
Thank good ness it worked its way through her system. blink.gif

Our family always gathers at my mother's for breakfast and an Easter Egg Hunt, then everyone goes off to other family things in the afternoon. But my daughter had a really bad headache this morning so we stayed home. sad.gif She slept all morning and felt better when she woke up. So she went off with her friend to her family dinner and egg hunt (they brought me back a piece of Coconut Cream Pie--yummy!). I was going to just putter around at home and catch up on some cleaning. But the neighbors are driving me crazy! I had to come to my mother's for a while for some peace and quiet--and to talk to you guys! Its definately time for me to go back to work. The kids have been out of school all week and the little boy next door (6 or 7 years old) has only one volume on his voice--LOUD. He is loud when he is happy (which is rare) and he is louder when he is crying (which is most of the time). All week, I listened to this kid scream and cry over every little thing ("GIVE ME BACK MY BALL!!!"). Then his mother would scream at him to shut up, which would make him scream louder, and on and on and on. I finally had to just get out of there today. Its so much quieter here.

It sounds like you need to invest in some noise reduction headphones or ear-plugs. smile.gif

That sounds like a great idea - maybe get some renewed interest going and get some of our MIA folks back.

I told my coworkers this morning that I was ready to come back to work--if only to escape the screaming kid next door after listening to him all last week. I was typing up an assessment earlier and one of my coworkers said, "Even your typing sounds happy to be back!" Happy typing--that's me!

I've noticed a lot of pictures going AWOL the last few days. Definately gremlins. OK, who got them wet?

HBO had a free preview weekend and I got to record several movies. I haven't had time to watch all of them yet. But I did get to see Music and Lyrics. I loved it! Drew Barrymore is so great at romantic comedy. And I even loved Hugh Grant's singing. I thought it was a very sweet movie. I recorded Lady in the Water for my daughter and just happened to get home as it was starting. I hadn't wanted to see it because I thought it was a horror movie (and unless VDO is in it, I don't do horror!). But it was more of a fairy tale than a horror flick. I REALLY liked it a lot. And Paul Giamatti usually plays a dweeb (Big Fat Liar laugh.gif ), but he got to be the reluctant hero for a change. I don't think either one got great reviews, but I give two thumbs up for both movies!

If you go back a few posts, you will see my "review". I liked it a lot. But then my kids would say that I am corny! However, my 15 y/o daughter liked it too, so I guess that gives me some credibility. laugh.gif

I liked it a lot too. Maybe I am corny as well! It was a bit like a fairy tale only a tad darker...it kept me watching, which I always take as a good sign!

Thanks for all the thoughts, prayers, hugs, teddy bears, flowers, and rock 'n roll kitty! My daughter had her first follow-up appointment today with the Trauma Clinic. Then she had another CT scan. Since the clinic and hospital are over an hour's drive one way, it turned into an all-day event. The drive was really rough on her--every curve and bump made her head hurt and caused more nausea. She finally threw up after we got up there. Now that we are home she is feeling better. The Physician Assistant we saw today was really great. She gave her yet another lecture on safety. I guess "car surfing" is a popular fad these days and everyone assumes that is what she was doing. She keeps protesting that she didn't know he was going to start driving the car--but she gets the lectures anyway. The PA said that the headaches, nausea, and vomiting will continue for up to a month or 6 weeks. Her next appointment is Friday morning with the Neurology Clinic.

BTW, Valley, I figured you were up in the Napa area. About 20 years ago (before you were even born!), I lived in Angwin for a couple of years and worked at a nursing home in Calistoga. I was the charge nurse for the Alzheimer's unit--I think that was my favorite job ever. And I loved living in the Napa Valley--beautiful. Now I live in the San Joaquin Valley (where I grew up). Not as beautiful, but it has it own charms. smile.gif

good to hear that your daughther is doing better!!!!
And never mind about work throwing a hissy fit over you not being there... family is a lot more precious and important!!

Yesterday my husband was an extra on a movie they are filming in the Boston area. The working title is "Mall Cop" and Kevin James (King of Queens) is the star. My husband was exhausted when he got home last night from standing around for 13 hours. But he loves all that stuff-seeing how things are done. He's done it before though. He did it for "Fever Pitch". He ended up on the cutting room floor as they say but he got to meet Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore so that helped ease his pain. tongue.gif The state of Massachusetts has been working hard to lure the film industry here with tax incentives etc. It must be working because the Kevin James movie is set in New Jersey and they are filming it in MA which seems crazy because lots of movies set in Boston/NE are filmed in Canada or somewhere. Right now there are 3 or 4 movies filming in the area as well as some pretty bigs in the past few years. Ethan Hawke is in one of them. Wish he brought his buddy VDO with him.

Back in 1982 my husband was an extra in the movie "Hanky Panky" with Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner. You can only see him from the back but his backside looked good then and it still looks good now.

great maybe one day he will be famous and you can watch us all drool over him, lol. Boy look at those clothes, and cars, Gene Wilder was on the View today, boy did he look old. He has written a book about a man falling in love with a woman with Cancer, but he said it wasn't about Gilda, since his book has a happy ending, Gilda was such a talented woman. He said he hates movies today since they have so much cursing in it today.

I heard on the new that there are quite a few movie makers looking at Michigan for sites for filming. They say our Great Lakes are great for doing ocean scenes, with less crowds.

Thats pretty cool, maybe LOCI can come here and film something, not ocean related, but something, anything...would be too cool!

I have such a hard time getting people off the phone when they just want to talk and talk and tell me their whole life story. My cubicle is just behind reception. So if I can't get someone off the phone, I write "HELP" on a piece of paper, crumple it, and throw it over the "wall" at the receptionist. Then she calls my extension so I can say, "Oh, I have another call. I have to go!" Sometimes even that doesn't work!

How about this one? I work with a sweet, very ditzy girl. Yesterday I hear her on the phone say "Oh, you want to talk to Judy?" and the next thing I know she transfers a call into me. A man wants to talk about his account. I think "I'm not in the accounts receivable department but if he asked for me by name, I'll talk to him." I answer the phone and the conversation goes like this:

Man: Is this Pam?
Me: No, this is Judy.
Man: Well, I need to discuss the account I opened yesterday.
Me (confused): What sort of account did you open?
Man: A checking account.
Me: Where are you trying to call?
Man: Penn Security Bank.
Me: Hang on, let me get you the number, you called (name of my employment).
Man: Why did the girl who answered tell me I needed to speak with you - I told her I needed Pam?

NOW - does Judy sound like Pam? I didn't think it did - so why did 'ditzy girl' transfer the call to me? This happens all the time - if she gets a call that she simply doesn't want to even try to help, she sends it my way.

When I asked her why she didn't try to help him, she said - He asked for Pam and when I told him there was no Pam here he asked for the girl in the office to the left as you enter the lobby. (There is no office to the left as you enter our lobby - it's a wall with a vending machine.) blink.gif

aha, I can see you are having one of the world famous "today everyone except me seems to be on a different planet" days.. not to worry... persevere with the day... and on the way home buy yourself something nice at the store. Alternatively tell the other person to go stand in front of a coke machine, grab the sides with both hads and pull violently forward. cool.gif

Good luck.. and remember, it's the other people that are in the wrong not you!!!

(There is no office to the left as you enter our lobby - it's a wall with a vending machine.) blink.gif

hahaha, wow thats hilarious.

aha, I can see you are having one of the world famous "today everyone except me seems to be on a different planet" days.. not to worry... persevere with the day... and on the way home buy yourself something nice at the store. Alternatively tell the other person to go stand in front of a coke machne, grab the sides with both hads and pull violently forward. cool.gif

Good luck.. and remember, it's the other people that are in the wrong not you!!!

laugh.gif - I've been having a crazy week in rl and to try to explain it would have people looking at me like I really am from another planet (and I'm in the witness protection program so I can't tell you which one cool.gif ) so that phone call yesterday just made me scratch my head and wonder. But I did buy myself a bag of malted milk balls on the way home and a Dr. Pepper so the world is at peace and all's well.

This girl is famous for it - and she really does have a heart of gold - but will not ask any questions to clarify why a person is calling or who they really need to speak with. When she tells me I have a call, I'm usually 75% certain it's really not for me and I just need to direct them to the proper person. Yesterday I was even directory assistance and got the man the right phone number. smile.gif

Ya'll did a really good job of bumping all those threads down. Very quickly too.

At first i saw a bunch of posts from ciaddict all the way down the forum, and i was thinking, 'wow, she had a breath of wind in her today'. Most of it was bumping though. tongue.gif

Way back when I was a young'un your age, there was a dance called the "Bump" and whenever I see folks 'bumping' threads I have to smile.

I think everyone was doing a great job of bumping threads which proves it doesn't matter what 'ship' you're on - we're all one family and stand by each other when something is nonsensical and needs to be 'bumped'. smile.gif

Oh my God, I just copied this from another site. NBC can't find CI a permanent home, but they can have this...

"NBC and the producers of American Idol are working together on a celebrity edition of the game show classic Family Feud.

What's interesting is that they'll run the celeb Feud in primetime…something that hasn't been done before.

We're guessing that NBC will give the celeb edition good placement on its sched ’cause they're assuming lots of you will tune in.

You know you wanna see the Duffs vs. the Lohans!

Details are being kept under tight wraps. Sources report that you'll probably see 'traditional' families pitted against one another (i.e. the Hiltons vs. the Kardashians) and groups like TV show 'families' competing (i.e. Lost cast vs. Heroes cast)."

Okay, got this email, had to share...good for a laugh, but please don't think I would seriously do this!

Easy Toilet Cleaning Instructions:

1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.

2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.

4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash' and rinse'.

6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.

9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Sincerely,

The Dog
