It's obvious that the admin/mod's of this particular board have their hands full, because I see no real moderation going on. This isn't a complaint & I'm not trying to be disrespectful, please believe me. The long time posters of this board do an amazing job of "unofficially" keeping order. However, it takes special abilities to go into another members' thread start & delete posts not your own or merge threads.

Is it presumptious of me to suggest that a few of the long time posters here be given the authority to assist the admin/moderators? It's been done many times on other boards. Those interested (I'm sure its a frustrating, thankless job LOL) would have to volunteer, I guess. It would take a special love & devotion to the board & the folks who post here.

Just a thought. Hope I haven't upset anyone. unsure.gif

Heeey DonnaJo! How are you and Sue doin'? You seem the only person I see post here on USA smile.gif

Vincent D'Onofrio [...] usually spends time in Ramatuelle (it is in the South East of France) in August. He says : "I have never talk about it before because I keep it very much to myself. I rent each year a different house with a swimming pool in order to spend 4 weeks far away from New York. Nobody knows where to contact me and I rarely get out from the house. It is my haven of peace where I can read and write".

Lovely photos, JaneEmily. Europe in general in the summer but France in particular would be a wonderful place to get away from the distractions and sometimes stress of big city life. If I had the money to go abroad to the same place every summer, I would spend the time reading and writing like VDO. If he goes there every year, he's likely fluent in French too. My parents are going to France in the spring, and they asked me what I wanted for a sounvenir. It's really hard to pick one thing, though...

That does seem like just the sort of thing he would do... Disappear for a month to some nice little village and decompress and just hang around being lazy.

It looks like a gorgeous place too.

I wonder if he knows the language as well... But if he does I hope he doesn't try the accent! smile.gif

Thanks JaneEmily! I love France, that's where my husband & I spent our honeymoon 22 years ago. Paris & some of the outer areas.

Hmmm...I wonder if Vincent still spends August in France? That was back in 2004, when he was estranged from his wife, I think. Could be....I'm sure Greta & Elias would love it as well.

You're not alone darling.

It's mostly because i have like 4-5 certain topics i always post in, and then ill dip into like 2 other certain ones, but now i just can't find them, and/or remember which ones i posted in cause there are so many.

haha, that would make it difficult to watch me. Specially since, usually i look for when you, spook, or jryan post something, and then go to that thread topic---but with so many new people i don't catch it fast enough before someone else posts and i lose ya'll. blink.gif
AmandaB
I also agree there has been tons of new topics lately. That's a great thing because of the new people and opinions, and I'm also not complaining about how the mods rarely come around, but there is a search function for a reason. Please try and use it before starting a new topic. I'm also someone that only posts in maybe 4-5 topics, which are mostly buried right now...

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox and get back to RL.

I do the same think - look for spook, you, Jryan and some others but it's hard to keep caught up. I think it's great there are so many new folks showing an interest but I feel like I'm losing ground. unsure.gif

Thanks AmandaB - I didn't know about the search function myself. We just need to get back under control with the threads or I think some of our veteran folks may not come around as much, which would be very sad.

I hope RL is getting easier on you, AmandaB - I know you're tied up a lot right now. I sent you something to look forward to in the mail today. smile.gif

I'm pretty sure it wasn't your posting, KimT. They're talking about people starting new threads when what they have to say can fit just fine in a thread we already have.

For my part, regarding the influx of SVU shippers, I think we're just used to a different style of posting than they are at the SVU forum. They're more bubbly and gregarious than we are. It's not good or bad, it's just different.

Don't you love getting to the store and realising you need a smaller size! I knew my old pants were getting a bit loose, okay a lot loose according to everyone around me yelling at me to buy new clothes, but I was shocked when I actually went from size 24 to 16...it was the first time I ever, in my whole life...put them on and stood looking in that 3 way mirror they put in there. smile.gif

Please share how you lost all that weight- I am so mad at myself. I used to be a 12 now I'm an 18 and I am upset about it. I am going to have my thyroid checked, but I am told menopause will slow weight loss...I'm thinking I have to really exercise ALOT to get my metabolism going.

Okay I have to share this with someone...My dad has alwayy been a "manly man"...you know, too masculine to like cats, to show much emotion (except to love us kids), to admit when something hurts or ask for help...you have to know him to understand...but yesterday I got an email from my dads wife (his 3rd wife, not sure what I should call her except by her name, which you wouldnt know so, haha). She says "We had a new baby". I am like what?...still reading the email...(my dad is 68 this year and she is in her late 50's-early 60's)...she went on to list the date of birth, the weight ect. Then I got to the bottom and opened the attached photos. This one was too cute not to share.

Now keep in mind, this gruff...manly man...yup, thats him...with that sweet little puppy tucked under his chin...MY DAD!

Aw, nice photo and cute pup! smile.gif

Never heard of Sheltie before. Is she going to have puppies? She looks rather big to me.

I sent you something to look forward to in the mail today. smile.gif

Yeah, its good too see alot of new people, its just a little overwhelming. i don't want to lose our veterans. sad.gif

A sheltie is a Shetland Sheepdog, which is kind of like a miniature collie. They have the same body styels and coloring variations, just a smaller build and smaller size. They are both very driven in the herding instinct.

Weiners are special dogs...short on legs, but long on love!

Sorry to go on about the dog...I have always been an animal lover. My first books were animal encyclopedias! I loved learning about the different animals...everthing I could learn. I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid.

You're not alone darling.

It's mostly because i have like 4-5 certain topics i always post in, and then ill dip into like 2 other certain ones, but now i just can't find them, and/or remember which ones i posted in cause there are so many.

My head is spinning. Me and Change aren't friends.

We're like Bobby in that respect. We don't react well to change. smile.gif

When I was little, my dad bought me lot of books about dogs. Among the dogs, I like Golden Retriever the best! After my Snoopy died, they gave me a poodle for Christmas. smile.gif
