Trying to ban the cat from my room would result in me having a hole in my door. She's a big baby and NEEDS mommy... She was fine last night, so I'm hoping this was just a bout of "Spring shedding" and is over now. If it starts acting up, I'll have to swing by and get some of that stuff from PetSmart. I do not shop Wal-Mart unless there's no option or it's a significant price difference. AS much as I like my principles, I need to save money more... dry.gif
I live in Florida. Our most F'd up state!

But I don't understand how a conservative republican can say CA is the best state when it's predominately liberal...

Then again I don't understand how anyone could be a conservative in the first place...

I even live in the better half of California! ::cough:: Northern ::Cough::

I try not to have my political views get in the way of my beautiful state. Forunately, politics are not my life.

and i can say the same thing, except, 'how anyone could be liberal in the first place....' biggrin.gif

Let's just say i am wise beyond my years for being a conservative at such a young age.

Here is my rant for the day. I work for a Medicaid program that pays caregivers to provide care to clients in their own homes. And we always do home visits--for an initial application and then once a year for a review (or more often if they tell us their condition has changed). So the client has requested services from a government agency. But when I send letters, call, go to their homes, and ask personal questions (as required by state regulations) they act like I'm a telemarketer who is harrassing them! I'm back in the office right now because my 10:30 appointment stood me up. And I am half-way expecting my 1:00 appointment to stand me up, since she has not responded to my letter or the two messages I left with her family to call and confirm the appointment. When I deny them services for "failure to provide sufficient information to determine eligibility", you can bet they will be calling me (and my supervisor). However, if I deny them services (or terminate their services if they are already on the program), its amazing how they suddenly find the time for me.
OK, I'm better now.

Since I was not too far from my mother's house, I was tempted to go over there and just spend 2 1/2 hours here on the board. BUT I didn't! I was good and came back to the office to get some work done (and play around on the board!). I better get going and see if my next appointment will actually be there waiting for me or if her hostile son will sullenly tell me (again) he doesn't know where she is or when she will be home!

Sorry that you've having a bad day, ciaddict. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for anyone that works with either the medical or mental health of anyone. My mom's a clinical psychologist at a not-for-profit agency, and I know there are certain times she comes home that I shouldn't talk to her that night because she's so emotionally drained. It boils down to whether or not people are willing to put the effort into utilizing the service that is there and willing to make changes for the better. I mean, there's also other factors that make things difficult, but that's the bottom line.

*looks at time*
Now I have to get a few things done before work tonight. If I'm on the board sporadically or rarely over the next week or so, it's because of school.

Ok this is a silly question, I always wondered, I have traveled a few places, and have noticed you can't find somethings we have here, everywhere, and when I saw the dr. pepper and doritos question made me think.

1 question. I love diet Barqs, is that available everywhere?
2. the only mayo I like is Blue Plate mayo, is that available everywhere.?

I just wonder since both are created in Louisiana.

We have Diet Barqs here in the ND. Can't drink the stuff, though. It's the aftertaste. But I don't think I've seen Blue Plate mayo. But I usually steal mayo packets from Arby's or Subway and stock up on those.

Funny you asked that, there was once this female who was looking for the same name at the restaurant, and the manager informed they don't carry that stuff in her restaurant. This female must be a traveler from another state. What I heard that there is Blue Plate Mayo in N.O.

SInce I'm pretty much chained to my desk at work, I'm thinking this is a forum road trip - pictures will be boring but it's the only trip I can make at the moment. laugh.gif

Yes to the diet Barqs -no to the Blue Plate mayo, at least in my neck of the woods in PA. I LOVE Barqs rootbeer - I actually thought it was a PA soda until I heard it mentioned in a country song.

I was hoping is wasn't RL and I was going to totally miss out...We are pretty much chained to work as well. The hubby puts in around 80 hours a week, normal time and I get called in usually several times a day...to "help out" and sometimes just relieve his stress by being there.

I actually prefer A&W rootbeer, to Barq's...that is, when I used to drink soda. Nothing tastes as good, on a hot summer day, as an A&W rootbeer float with vanilla ice cream....::sigh::
(Correction, maybe Vincent's lips might... wink.gif )

I work about 50 hours a week on a normal basis - more if we have a 'crisis'. Come May, I'll be working 7 days a week through October. It's great that your hubby has you to help out and relieve his stress - that's wonderful.

I love rootbeer floats - but Vincent's lips would be preferable. tongue.gif
