Jesse L. Martin Leaving 'Law & Order'
The actor is exiting the drama series he called home for the past nine years, and ''K-Ville'' star Anthony Anderson is in talks to fill the void. JESSE L. MARTIN The actor is exiting Dick Wolf's NBC series and will next play Marvin Gaye in the biopic ''Sexual Healing''Will Hart

) – After months of speculation, it is now official that Jesse L. Martin is leaving NBC's Law & Order after nine years on the show. Sources say his character, Detective Ed Green, will be written off. In the wake of Martin's departure, Anthony Anderson, star of Fox's freshman cop dramaK-Ville, is in final talks to come on board as a new detective partnered with Jeremy Sisto's Cyrus Lupo. Martin is expected to shoot one more episode with Anderson stepping in later this season. Although Fox has never officially pulled the plug on K-Ville, Anderson's casting in Law & Order pretty much makes that a done deal. Martin recently finished work on the feature Peter and Vandy, and will next play Marvin Gaye in the indie biopic Sexual Healing, which also stars James Gandolfini.

Anthony Anderson played Stablers partner once on SVU, I wish they would have picked the other actor on KVille Cole Hauser, but I guess they wanted to stick with another Black actor. I will Miss Jesse L Martin.

That is a blatant lie. Nemo and dopey were planning a vicious attack on you. I told them that it was a bad idea, so they threatened my life. Dopey said "you say one thing imma kill you". Scared for my life i kept my mouth shut. Nemo then threw himself at you hoping to knock you out. when dopey saw he failed, he attacked you.

Sorry Laz but I'm siding with Valley on this. Dopey does not have the logical reasoning to plan such an assault. (Grumpy or Doc maybe, but not Dopey). I think you had a nefarious plan up your sleeve and are using Dopey as your fall guy. tongue.gif

As for the shirt and cap...I ordered them...only took a week to get here. I was hoping that the "fan of the week" had a prize, maybe a personal visit from VDO(okay a BIT too much to ask, but...a girl can dream), but since I wasn't sure I just ordered them for myself.

Dog owners (especially ones with 'house dogs'):

What do you do with your dog during the day when you are at work? Where does it go to the bathroom?

What about if you're going on a trip?

I have 2 mini dachshunds. They are both potty trained and also have little cages. They go in their cages if I am going to be away at work. They like being in there and often go in there during the day to nap or drink their water in there or eat their kibble in there.
When we go on vacation...my mom-in-law watches them at her house. She has 3 dogs of her own and loves dogs, so they get spoiled rotten while we are away.
As for an airedale, beautiful dogs, but they ARE a terrier breed. Terriers were bred for hunting vermin *ie mice, rats and other fast little critters...so they can be a bit highstrung and active. And a lot of people thing airedales are small dogs...they are not.I had a neighbor who bred them. Most of his were waist high! Please be sure to research the breed and what it was originally bred for...before you decide what kind you prefer. Also, please do not think I am preaching at you. It is just that I hear so many people love their puppy, then it grows and shows what it was really made to ...do, dig, hunt, herd...and people freak and take it to the pound. So many homeless dogs...its very sad.

Hope this did not offend...

Thank you for your advice, and no, you did not offend. I have done a lot of research on the breed, so I already knew theat they grow to be huge and tend to be high strung and love to dig. I really want a Great Dane (I still may get one instead, although I've fallen in love with Airedales), but they have the potential for a lot of not so good health problems. I'm too tenderhearted to deal with that kind of thing.

Airedales can have hip dysplaisia, which can be serious business, and they can also get some forms of dermatitis. Dermatitis can be prevented somewhat through regular grooming so that it is noticed early.

Is it really ok to keep a dog in it's crate (cage) all day? I didn't think that dogs liked to pee/poo in the same place that they lay down. is the crate big enough so that they do their business on one end and lay in the other?

It is just that I hear so many people love their puppy, then it grows and shows what it was really made to ...do, dig, hunt, herd...and people freak and take it to the pound. So many homeless dogs...its very sad.

Hope this did not offend...

I totally agree....its upsetting when people take in a pet without taking in the full responsibility of it. I get upset when I hear about people leaving their homes because of foreclosures, and leaving their animal behind. dry.gif

These days any purebred dog seem to have hip dysplasia. They bigger breed dogs are easier to potty train and leave for longer periods of time.

It cracks me up that some dogs are litter trained. When we decided that our family needed a dog, we looked around and these were some of my personal observations; Little dogs tend to have accidents a lot. I did not get a dog to have to constantly clean up after it all the time after. I die when I see people buying Nature's Miracle by the gallon at the pet store. Spaniels are piddlers. They get it excited and they piddle. Pugs (no offense Chimera) can have breathing problems and make wheezing noises and snore. Phodesian Ridgebacks (which we originally had our hearts set on) have gas problems. I did not want another farter in the home. These were all breeds that we originally thought we wanted. We did our homework. I talked to everyone possible. We even went to local dog shows.

Find someone that has the breed that you want and ask a ton of questions.

We ended up with a Golden Retriever. She was never crated. We had baby gates in our kitchen to block off access to other rooms. As she got older, we gave her access to more of the house. She now sleeps upstairs on my bed. She is a love. My three year old niece can come up to her while she is eating and climb on he back, pull her ears and try to take food from her bowl and she doesn't move. She is a lap dog too. Such a love. I never thought a dog could be so loyal.

That being said, several of her litter mates had hip trouble and I asked her Orthopedic Surgeon (yes) what did we do wrong after doing so much research. He said take $50 and go to the pound. She did not need surgery (3 siblings did). We got her from the President of the Golden Retriever Club of our state. No puppy mill. She cost $750.

That being said, she is a perfect fit for our family. She is good for 8 hours alone. People are more than willing to babysit her overnight because she is such a kind dog.

Dog owners (especially ones with 'house dogs'):

What do you do with your dog during the day when you are at work? Where does it go to the bathroom?

What about if you're going on a trip?

I'm looking into getting an Airedale Terrier sometime this summer or fall. I think that they are such cute, smart dogs.

I have a doggie door that leads to my fenced big back yard, When I got my dog he was a tiny thing only 4lbs, so at first I had to bring him out ever 2 hours to go, I was surprised, cause every dog I ever had I could never train, thats why I always been a cat person, just put out a litter box and your done. Well I been very lucky with this dog, except for one thing I can't understand, both my dog and cat are fixed, which is suppose to stop the spraying of territories. Well they both still mark their spots, Shaggy,(momma's dog) doesn't want Tiger( my daughters cat) in my room, so he marks my bedroom with urine. The cat has a favorite stool he likes to stay on so he marks that, so I have two spots I always have to keep cleaning, I don't know if its because they are male, but this pissing contest is killing me, its just in these two places. This summer we are pulling out all of the carpet and replacing it with ceramic tile and going to replace the furniture with leather to make everything easier to clean, these two have been together for 3 yrs and still are territorial, mostly on the dog's part. But back to topic except for these two places they both use the doggie door and go in the back yard, when it rains, much to my husbands dislike Shaggy goes on the patio, lol, He doesn't like wet grass.

Oh if I am going on a trip and will be gone for a few days and nobody will be home, the cat doesn't care, we have feeders that hold a lot of food and water, and they drop food and water as needed. It holds enough food for a few weeks. Now my dog is used to having me home all day, so he gets lonesome, so between my son and my mom, I have them take turns picking up my mail and visit Shaggy once a day so he doesnt get too lonely, also I call and talk to him on the answering machine.

JC are you talking about a puppy? I don't know much about puppies. Both of the dogs we've had came to us when they were full grown. Both could go all day w/o having to go out. The dog we have now is used to that because the couple who gave him to us both worked all day. Our new love, Rigley, is a sleepy head and can go to bed at 11:30 and not have to go out until 10;30 the next morning. He's had a couple of accidents but that is because we forgot to put him out or he went out and got spooked or something and came back in before he could do his business. (my theory).

My brother usually "baysits' if we go away for a few days. They don't have any pets because my sil is allergic to most dogs but our dogs were/are "hypoallergenic". They look forward to babysitting. There are kennels. I guess if you could find a very, very good one you could do that if you had to.

Thank you for all of the great tips and insight.

I found a few doggie boarding places where I live that I'm going to look in to. I won't need it for during the week so much (b/c I will be working part time more than likely) but at least one of the places is very reasonably priced and does three and four day weekends. This will be good for times when we're out of town and can't take the dog with us or if we know that we're going to be extremely busy and away from the house, we can take it there.

We used to board at the vet's. That way if the animal becomes ill, they will handle it. They even gave us free antibiotics after he came down with kennel cough.....He was crate trained.

The first 2 we had stayed exclusively in the back yard. We had a huge porch and lots of bushes for them to sleep on, under, behind, etc. They came in the few times the weather would get really cold, but we kept blankets outside for them. They would drag the blanked wherever they wanted it, too cute! We had a dog house big enough for them, but they wouldn't go in......

Hubby doesn't want next dog to be indoor dog....not sure what we're going to get eventually.....
