MMM, yes perhaps the bedroom is a better place for the Goren doll.
Can we get a few nice suits for Goren doll, and some mini size 13 shoes!!!
Also need to make sure that there is adaptable stubble on him... not quite sure how we would do that???

Cloggs

Few weeks ago looking at the mens dress shoes size 13 , daughter asked me if dad needed new dress shoes, She said, "Mom you know better than to buy dad shoes he is so particular", she doesn't know dad is a size 11, lol.

K-Rod, don't drop out, even tho we don't have many conservatives left. I had my hopes pinned on Fred, who in my very humble opinion was the only real conservative in the field, unless I'm missing someone.

I think the debate tonight is the republicans.

Personally, the American electoral system makes very little sense to me. You guys have to have the most complex and longest system in the world. The last federal election here I just stopped by the local polling station after school and voted. It took all of five minutes. So instead of drawn out campaigning, we Canadians just have to struggle with voter apathy (though that wasn't true last election considering the sponsorship scandal)
We're probably going to have a provinicial election here pretty soon, and I'm really thinking of voting the opposition...

Amen. This 2008 PRESIDENTIAL RACE seemed to start about 10 minutes after the 2004 INAUGURAL SWEARING IN. Candidates in Canada are not allowed to put out signs for an election until just before the voting so campaigns don't seem to last very long. I don't understand your constitutional amendment on TERM LIMITS OF PRESIDENTS (2 TERMS). It tends to make a 2 TERM PRESIDENT (like CLINTON who seemed to be doing very well) a lame duck PESIDENT after only 1 TERM. Why can't they run longer? Plus these years long campaigns (like HILLARY CLINTON) must cost an incredible amount of money!!!

To answer your question about terms limits, the simple answer is Roosevelt. FDR was elected to office during the Great Depression, and was elected to 4 terms of office. Has he lived, FDR would have been in the White House for 16 years. While FDR's popularity is unmatched, particularly in today's presidential field, several felt that 16 years was too long for one man to be in charge of the country. Shortly after FDR's death, a Constitutional Amendment was passed and ratified that that limited the term of office for President to two terms. Which is the standard set by George Washington. The lame duck of a president second term usually starts the last year in office (Bush's seems longer cause he's lost so much popularity).

Now I have to agree that the idea of setting a time on when a person starts a campaign is appealing to me. Cause the money involved is enormous. However, since I work in radio, advertising is what pays my paycheck, and I kinda like getting paid, sooooo I'm kinda of torn between the whole spending money thing.

Romney is conservative. [Being Mormon he has religion on his team, though some people have a beef for Mormons.]
and
McCain is a military man.

The midwest would be their heaven.

In the true West:

Romney will get Utah and Idaho, probably Arizona.

McCain will bring home most of California without a second thought.

California is very anti conservative. McCain is pretty damn liberal for a republican.

Good points, but Huckabee is a Southern Baptist minister. Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennesee, and Kentucky have a very strong Southern Baptist presense.

Huckabee won Iowa, and the states that I previously mentioned tend to vote with Iowa.

I think that Huckabee has a fighting in these states (which is why they are known as the swing states b/c of their ability to swing an electon. Especially Missouri, whose electoral votes have gone to the winner of the election every year since it entered the union except 1904).

If Huckabee weren't Southern Baptist and a conservative, the midwest would be anyones game (it still is). But because there are so many people in the midwest who would vot for huckabee based on this fact alone, I think that he still has a chance. However, midwesterners typically have not liked McCain. There are also a lot of people who are skittish about voting for a Mormon [sillyif you ask me, at least making that the ONLY reason] [ (I would vote for him, but I need to research is platform more

there is no age limit on the presidency.

I dont' affiliate with any political party (and fortunately for me, my state has an open primary. Actually all of our elections are open). I try to vote for who I agree witht he most. Whenever I encounter offices on the ballot that I don't know who to vote for, I try to even up the ballot and vote for people in the party that I have voted the least for.

When I voted for president in 2004, my ballot was largely democratic (there were a lot of local offices up for election). So when I got to the elections that I wasn't certain of who to vote for, or for who I was conflicted, I voted republican.

When we voted in 2006 there were a lot of offices that were up for election. I actually was skewed toward the republican party this time, so I made up the difference by voting Democrat.

Maybe not an entirely sound practice, but oh well.

I don't quite know how I will vote for the presidency. I will more than likely vote Republican for the primary, but I don't know how I will vote in the general election for the president. I will probably vote in the opposite party of who I think will win the presidency when I vote for congress. I believe in balance in the government.

Clinton wasn't a bad president, so wouldn't be bad to have him in the whitehouse again, Sorry I am a die hard Democrat. Who ever wins the nomination gets my vote, Bush and his republician ways are done, Hillary or Obama is fine with me. Or I would have voted for Ron Paul. Hey wish they would let Arnold run for pres, Sorry McCain is too old, afraid he can't last the 4 yrs mentally. Sad we make people 70 retire from the job force but we let them apply to run the country and make nationwide decisions. Is there an age limit on the presidency?

The only restrictions I can remember from 8th grade History, is that you have to be born in the US...and at least 35 years of age....

Fred was my first choice too, but now that he is out I am not sure who will get my vote....I do know who won't get my vote and that is Hillary....I can't stand her or her husband....I am also ok with Obama, but I didn't make up my mind yet....but by the looks of it, by the time the Primaries get to PA, there will be only a few to choose from...

I WAS ok with Obama until I heard about the photo below, which was pulled from Time magazine and abc video. I'm kinda of silly for patriotism, and a flag-waver, and the photo upset me. It is surely not a big thing to a lot of people, but it is for me. Snopes says the photo is not photo-shopped and they have the abc video on their site as well.

I'm a silly patriot, too Spook! smile.gif I had heard about this, but hadn't seen it. It bothers me, too.

ALL the candidates scare me in one way or another. I really honestly feel like there is no one running who could really do the job justice right now.
