Some people were also mentioning talking dolls. They do have programmable voice chips out there to put into stuffed dolls, but I'm sure that some are small enough to fit in a regular 11.5"/27cm doll too. No string required.

My daughter has a My Twinn doll that looks like her. www.mytwinn.com You can customize the doll's skin color, eye color, hair color, general facial features to match the child. Really neat and she LOVES hers. Also -- you can get matching outfits for the doll and child as well as just girls clothing. The Princess takes ballet, so "Little B" (her doll) has ballet clothes; they have matching pajamas. It's just too cute and too much fun!

I can't believe that you can actually get such lifelike dolls.... maybe I need to get some specs together and put my order in... although there is something kinda freaky about the idea a lifesize VDO doll stuffed away in the hall cupboard with the hoover and the plastic bags.

We can hope. It's getting pretty sad. I'm watching LOCI on USA - is it just me but they seem to be playing more Logan eps than Goren eps lately. The one that's on now is the one where the police recruit is killed and Logan likes the girl who 'falls' off the roof.
